Villain: Starting with a Flawless Body, Born Invincible

116: Renew the covenant, I, Lord Lingxiao, hereby make a covenantIt turns out that the so-called ’merit overshadowing the master’ was also half-true and half-false. If one was truly powerful, why would one fear merit overshadowing the master?

The main reason was that after Qilin Child, who once commanded the Ten Thousand Beasts, died, the treatment of the Ten Thousand Beasts by the Jun Family had already changed.

From equality, it gradually turned into subservience. The young of the Ten Thousand Beasts should have been equal to the Jun Family Disciples, but they slowly became mounts and similar things, clearly violating the original alliance.

However, the upper echelons of the Jun Family always stood by, watching with cold eyes, doing nothing.

They would be the first to fight, and then their children would be slaves and servants in the Jun Family. Who could tolerate that?

So, the Ten Thousand Beasts began to form groups and clans to resist.

But this only made the contradiction between them more irreconcilable. Although it was initially said to be all-encompassing, in the end, they were not treated as Jun Family members, but as dependents, as lackeys.

It was not that the Jun Family moved to the Ten Directions Immortal Court to abandon the Ten Thousand Beasts, but rather that the Ten Thousand Beasts seized this opportunity to leave the Jun Family.

After all, the Jun Family at that time was already at its peak, and even a True Dragon as powerful as him could only hide and survive until now.

Jun Lingxiao listened carefully until he understood the whole story, then nodded heavily.

”So, it was my Jun Family that betrayed trust first.”

”Indeed, human young are young, and True Dragon young are also young. Everyone is equal. No one is born to be a mount or a hound, and no parent would want to see that happen.”

Jun Lingxiao said faintly, his summary was very thorough, making everyone in the dark light up, never expecting him to say such a thing.

”Little one, your words make me curious. Aren’t you on the Jun Family’s side?”

The Dragon Chief in the middle continued, it sounded as if Jun Lingxiao had no awareness of being a Jun Family member, and even seemed to be on their side?

”I don’t look at positions, only at right and wrong. In this matter, the Jun Family was wrong.”

”But, I can also understand the difficulties. With the death of Qilin Child, the Jun Family was without a leader. The more powerful a Family, the more problems will arise. During the critical period of the Ten Chiefs’ struggle, the Jun Family could not afford internal strife, so they could only throw this contradiction elsewhere, even to allies. It was a simple and crude method.”

Jun Lingxiao said, looking fearlessly at the many gazes in the darkness, his eyes sincere.

”I am here to apologize on behalf of the Jun Family. This was an act of desperation, but it was indeed wrong.”

”Of course, while reaching a reconciliation with you all, I would like to invite you Seniors to return to the Jun Family.”

”Once a Jun Family member, always a Jun Family member. The name of the True Dragon should resound throughout the world, not be wasted in this extravagant and empty underground palace.”

Jun Lingxiao’s words immediately drew scoffs.

”Heh, kid, you’re finally showing your true colors, aren’t you? You want us to return to the Jun Family to be your hounds? Delusional!”

”Exactly! In other words, even if we agree to go back, what if the previous situation happens again?”

”You think you can resolve so many years of grievances with just one sentence? Ridiculous!”

”Who dares to promise that everything from before won’t repeat? Can you?”

Jun Lingxiao stood up, facing the many questioning gazes, and nodded heavily.

”I can.”

Suddenly, the scene fell silent. Despite his small figure, his words were unexpectedly firm.

But that wasn’t all; Jun Lingxiao was just beginning his speech.

”I promise that when you all return to the Jun Family, you will receive equal status. I can even eat and live with you all. Not just you, but any being among the Ten Thousand Beasts, I can treat equally. As long as the heart is a Jun Family heart, then he is a Jun Family member.”

”If you don’t believe me, I can make a Dao Heart blood oath here today.”

As these two sentences fell, the questioning gazes had already diminished significantly, but some still carried a hint of a sneer, a gaze that seemed to see through everything.

”Kid, you have this resolve, which is impressive. As you said, you are the Divine Son of the Jun Family, so you shouldn’t have to do this.”

”Moreover, if you are targeting the so-called Ten Thousand Beasts, then you will be disappointed. There are only True Dragons here, no Ten Thousand Beasts.”

How could such proud True Dragons live with other Beast Race or Yao Race beings? In their eyes, Jun Lingxiao might not be lying; if he violated a Dao Heart blood oath, his Dao Heart would shatter, and he would become a Mortal. He was indeed not lying, but clearly, he was actually here for the Ten Thousand Beasts, and the True Dragons were only part of his goal.

However, Jun Lingxiao was indeed here for the True Dragons today.

”The Old Ancestor prophesied that darkness is coming, and no being can escape. One more power means one more hope.”

”As for the so-called Ten Thousand Beasts, I will naturally find them one by one in the future.”

”I know the alliance made between the Jun Family’s Qilin Child and you all. Today, I want to be an heir of Qilin Child and re-establish the same alliance with you Seniors.”

”But this time, it will not be in the name of the Jun Family, but in my name.”

After Jun Lingxiao finished speaking, he swiped his palm in the air, and golden characters scattered into the sky, revealing the content of the alliance he had prepared earlier.

The alliance had four clauses:

One: I, Jun Lingxiao, will protect all beasts like true Family, without distinction, without exploitation, with mutual cooperation, and peaceful coexistence.

Two: ’I’ will stay by Jun Lingxiao’s side, treating Jun Lingxiao as Family, lending my eyes, my ears, my claws, my flesh and blood, and my power to Jun Lingxiao, to kill all enemies.

Three: If one party feels unfair, this alliance will terminate immediately.

Four: If Jun Lingxiao dies, this alliance will terminate immediately.

This alliance was similar to the previous one, yet different.

If it was signed with Jun Lingxiao alone, it meant their relationship with the Jun Family was not significant, and they didn’t have to be loyal to the Jun Family. They could treat him however they wanted, and the Jun Family would gain no advantage.

Once trust is lost, it’s lost forever. So Jun Lingxiao separated himself from the Jun Family. This alliance was very different.

But... the Dragon Chief slowly descended, coming to Jun Lingxiao’s side. At this moment, Jun Lingxiao finally saw the golden Dragon Chief clearly.

The golden scales were very striking, and the extremely majestic vertical pupils were now scrutinizing him up and down. After a moment, he finally spoke, his warm breath exhaled onto Jun Lingxiao.

”Kid, this alliance is equivalent to tying the connection between the two races to you alone. This way, you must be in an absolutely fair position, otherwise, the balance could collapse at any time.”

”But whether you can achieve it, I highly doubt.”

”I can.”

Without flowery vows or anything, Jun Lingxiao’s simple ”I can” already stated his position.

”Impartial, I will not favor any side. I will become the wielder of the sword, fairly judging everything.”

”I cannot guarantee the future, but as long as I am here for one day, you, or any other beings, will be equal in the Jun Family. After my death, you may choose to stay or leave on your own.”

”Do not talk of eternity, but fight for the present.”

”As long as I am alive, the previous events will absolutely not repeat.”

”I am not coveting the power of you Seniors. I merely want to restore the former glory of the Jun Family, restore your great renown, and recreate that prosperous era where Ten Thousand Beasts came to court, and no one dared to offend!”

”This alliance does not have any binding force; it merely gives me an opportunity, an opportunity to show you Seniors my sincerity. Rather than listening to me talk so much, it’s better to see how I act.”

”How about it?”

How about it?

Is there a choice?
