Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

As Mao Qi’s words fell, Xie Xuanzhao looked up at the huge image above the head of the Tribulation Thunder Incarnation, then glanced around at the transparent threads. Her expression gradually grew solemn.

She took a deep breath; perhaps realizing how serious this was, she skipped all pleasantries and went straight to the point: ”Brother Chen, in the information I sent you before, there should be an introduction to the Four Supreme Rules, right.”

Chu Xiu nodded.

Rules also have categories, and can basically be divided into two types: [Heavenly Dao Rules] and [World Rules].

[World Rules] are Rules that are naturally born from a world; cultivating these Rules is walking the path of the Star God.

The difference between [World Rules] and the [Heavenly Dao Rules] that Gods master lies in this: once [World Rules] leave their origin world, they become constrained, their Effect greatly diminished, whereas Heavenly Dao Rules are valid throughout the Cosmos, the most supreme of all Rules; only by mastering Heavenly Dao Rules can one attain the Level of [True God].

Once a Heavenly Dao Rule is grasped by someone, it becomes almost impossible for those who come after to fuse with it. The Heavenly Dao Rules that remain unfused now are already extremely few; just finding one is unimaginably difficult, let alone fusing with it.

Every year, Pseudo-Gods and Star Gods are born in the Life Domain, but across a Cosmos with untold numbers of civilizations, in nearly a thousand years, there has been only a single newly arisen [True God]!

This is why the status of a [True God] is far, far above that of all secondary Gods.

And even within Heavenly Dao Rules, there are Levels; the height of the Level determines the Tier of the God himself.

For example, Level of [Divine King] such as the Rules of Life, Destruction, and Transformation, then beneath them the [Main God]–Level Rules such as Blood, Withering, and the Rule of Imitation, and further below, even more finely divided [God]–Level Rules.

The so-called Supreme Rules are those that are even more Advanced than [Divine King]–Level Rules, transcending all other Rules, and can even be said to be the Rules that form the origin from which all Rules are born!

”Time-Space, Destiny, Creation, and Taiyi.” Chu Xiu said.

”Correct,” Xie Xuanzhao nodded. ”These four Rules each represent a kind of origin Power.”

”[Time-Space] is in charge of the physical structure of the world we reside in, and governs gravity among the four Foundation forces.”

”[Creation] refers separately to creation and Transformation, and governs electromagnetism, strong nuclear, and weak nuclear—the remaining three Foundation forces. By relying on the Transformation of these three forces, it can create all things in existence.”

”[Taiyi] serves to provide the initial Energy of the entire Cosmos, and is also the only Rule that can ignore Energy conservation, creating or annihilating Energy out of nothing in this world.”

Xie Xuanzhao’s words left Chu Xiu with a look of surprise.

He had originally thought Rule Power was some kind of Extraordinary Power that could ignore physical constraints; he hadn’t expected its underlying principle to be this... ’scientific.’

However, according to what Xie Xuanzhao said, with Time-Space, Creation, and Taiyi, one can already reproduce everything in this world—so then, what is Destiny?

Under everyone’s puzzled gazes, Xie Xuanzhao said slowly, ”As for the last, [Destiny], its core essence is ’quantum’.”

”Quantum...?”

This statement left everyone dumbfounded; some Civilization Envoys had never even heard the concept of quantum. Chu Xiu had heard of it, but only in a very vague way. Let alone him—on Blue Star, even the most top-tier physicists likely can’t clearly explain what quantum truly is.

”Mm...” Xie Xuanzhao hesitated for a moment, then said, ”To explain precisely what the essence of quantum is—that is far too difficult. I fear even my teacher cannot give a complete description.”

”But from the perspective of how its Ability manifests, there is a saying.”

”’Quantum’ is the Power that grants things ’true randomness’.”

”True randomness?”

Those words left everyone even more confused.

Xie Xuanzhao continued to explain: ”For example, throwing a die—on the surface, the upward-facing number appears random. But in fact, as long as you know the die’s position, Energy, and the forces acting on it, you can determine what number it will land on. Even computer-generated random numbers are only random to the user; they can still be predicted from the running state of the electronic components.”

”True randomness, on the other hand, means it cannot be predicted by any method; it is random from the bottom-level logic itself—randomness that is random.”

”So what’s the point of that?” Mu Tuo asked.

Xie Xuanzhao said, ”Almost no one can delve deeply into the quantum Domain, so to the overwhelming majority of people, this world is deterministic, and living in such a world doesn’t feel wrong in any way.”

”Then doesn’t that mean a person’s thoughts are merely the mutual interaction of neural currents and hormones? As long as you know the state of every particle in this body and the influence of the Outer World upon it, you can Precisely predict the changes in this person’s thoughts?”

”Pushing it further, doesn’t it mean that as long as you know the particle state of the entire Cosmos, you can predict the Cosmos’s future? That is, our Cosmos was already determined the instant it was born; everything you think and feel right now could be predicted and derived from that initial moment of the Cosmos’s birth?”

Xie Xuanzhao’s words made everyone fall into deep contemplation.

Her argument didn’t seem to have any flaw at first hearing, yet it instinctively stirred a sense of repulsion in them. Following this line of thought, what difference is there between them and a running program? Their actions and will would not be decided by themselves, but long since predestined?

”When I first heard my teacher say this, my expression was the same as all of yours now,” Xie Xuanzhao shook her head and sighed. ”If our world has already been predetermined, then isn’t it... a bit too boring?”

Boring, huh...

Chu Xiu slowly savored those two words. He recalled how, in his previous life, he loved staying up late to watch football matches live, often affecting his life the next day. His friends were very puzzled and asked him: you could totally just watch the replay the next day; as long as you don’t check the news in advance to see the result, isn’t that the same as watching it live?
