Chapter 2906: Chapter 2907: Minotaur Octopus

When Angel initially assigned the Rabbit Girl’s destination, he only gave her a coordinate point. And this coordinate point actually contained just one magical creature. Under normal circumstances, once the magical creature was dealt with, there would be no other creatures to eliminate nearby.

But the reality was quite different. When the Rabbit Girl arrived at this coordinate point and killed one magical creature, after a short rest, a second magical creature came rushing in. Not long after the second magical creature was dealt with, a third one was already on its way.

This way, the Rabbit Girl didn’t need to run around searching; she could just stay put and continually deal with the remaining eliminators.

This situation was achieved because of two actions taken by Angel.

First, he removed the effect of the Sea of Electrocution.

Without the Sea of Electrocution, a large number of magical creatures far from the center recalled their mission—to eliminate the life forms of the Crystal Origin of Dreams. Thus, they returned, leading to a wave of magical creature resurgence.

The second action was to open a ”clear” path in the densely packed Thorny Forest. This path, which seemed to avoid the dangers of the thorns and could lead to the center, actually led to the Rabbit Girl’s location.

The combination of these two actions caused a large number of magical creatures to converge at the coordinate point where the Rabbit Girl was located.

However, this wasn’t Angel’s main focus.

What Angel was interested in was the fact that near the coordinate point where the Rabbit Girl was located... there appeared to be dozens of crystal creations.

Some of these crystal creations were suspended in mid-air, others were mounted on thorny vines, and some were in underground spaces invisible to the eye.

When Angel saw these crystal creations, he was momentarily stunned.

He thought that apart from ”Mount Beautiful Dream” and ”Greed Feast,” all other crystal creations were in the ”Immortal Realm.” Unexpectedly, there were so many crystal creations near the Rabbit Girl.

This piqued Angel’s curiosity.

After observing for several minutes, he discovered that these crystal creations were different from what he imagined.

These crystal creations didn’t come from the Immortal Realm but were condensed on-site from the magical creatures killed by the Rabbit Girl.

In other words, while the Rabbit Girl was clearing the magical creatures, the ”Authority of Wonderland of Dreams” was also keeping an eye here, creating crystals on-site beside her?!

Of course, it doesn’t mean that every time the Rabbit Girl kills a magical creature, a crystal creation emerges from the ’corpse.’ If one magical creature corresponded to one crystal creation, the nearby area would already be piled with crystal creations, rather than the current sporadic distribution of crystal creations.

Many magical creatures did not manifest crystal creations. However, it is just that they did not manifest nearby. Angel noticed that occasionally, crystal creations would appear in distant uninhabited areas.

This indicates that each magical creature in the Dream Realm actually corresponds to a crystal creation. A small portion will appear around the corpse, but the vast majority will randomly appear in various parts of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

This is another aspect that greatly interests Angel.

This could be considered one of the rules of Wonderland of Dreams that was inadvertently tested out by the Rabbit Girl.

These newly created crystal creations will remain in the air for about three to five minutes, then gradually conceal and vanish into the ”Immortal Realm.”

If the timing is right, you can enter the special dream created by these crystal creations before they conceal.

However, the Rabbit Girl apparently had no intention of entering the crystal creations; her attention was entirely focused on the magical creatures. Whenever a magical creature appeared, she would charge forward to engage; when a magical creature was dead, she would sit on its corpse to rest, waiting for the next magical creature to arrive.

This behavior was completely different from her usual timid, socially anxious demeanor.

She seemed like a real battle machine.

Angel observed for about ten minutes through God’s View. The Rabbit Girl killed six magical creatures and paid no heed to a new crystal creation that emerged, nor did she show any expression at the disappearance of the dozen or so previous crystal creations.

It seems the Rabbit Girl really followed Laplace’s instructions to only kill eliminators and disregard everything else.

Compared to Luigi, who seemed somewhat unreliable, the Rabbit Girl was very dedicated.

Although the Rabbit Girl was efficient and dedicated in killing monsters, Angel was still not completely at ease, as the magical creatures he had seen so far were mostly close-quarters types, which suited the Rabbit Girl’s strengths.

If a remote combat type of magical creature appeared, can the Rabbit Girl handle it?

Although Laplace previously assured Angel, seeing is believing. He still intended to personally witness the Rabbit Girl’s ability to deal with remote combat.

...

At this moment, it had been exactly three minutes since the Rabbit Girl killed the last magical creature.

She sat on the corpse of the magical creature, her eyebrows drooping, as if pondering something.

Suddenly, the crisp sound of snapping branches accompanied by rushing wind came from deep within the Thorny Forest.

The Rabbit Girl stood up again, her gaze fixed on the gaps in the Thorny Forest. A white figure was darting quickly back and forth through these gaps, each landing breaking a thorn.

In the dance of wind and phantom shadows, the white figure traversed the Thorny Forest, leaping high and landing not far in front of the Rabbit Girl.

This was a magical creature with the head of a cow but the body of an octopus, appearing bizarre and nauseating.

But its appearance was secondary; its abilities were truly revolting.

The cow’s head could roar, causing sonic wave damage and making one’s mind dizzy.

The octopus’s tentacles could rapidly fire ink bullets, with speeds surpassing the naked eye’s visibility, not only extremely fast but also causing considerable destructive power.

Without a doubt, this was a remote combat type of magical creature.

Moreover, its close-quarters combat ability wasn’t weak. Its tentacles were extremely flexible and strong, allowing it to swiftly maneuver through the Thorny Forest and break the tough thorns without difficulty.

Facing such a magical creature capable of both close and remote combat, the Rabbit Girl used her usual battle method, attempting to close in on the opponent first.

However, the cow’s roar could daze the Rabbit Girl. Although the dizziness didn’t last long, it successfully prevented her from approaching the magical creature.

Under the cow’s roar control, the Rabbit Girl not only couldn’t approach the magical creature but also had to awkwardly dodge the ink bullets released by the magical creature.

This was the first time Angel saw the Rabbit Girl falling behind when facing a magical creature.

More disturbingly, this magical creature was quite cunning. Even with the Rabbit Girl at a disadvantage, it still didn’t approach her, continuing the remote ’kiting’ tactic with its two main strategies: dizziness and bullets.

This two-pronged approach was indeed very effective against the Rabbit Girl.

It prevented her from getting close to the magical creature.

However, the Rabbit Girl’s movement technique was extremely agile. Although the ink bullets slowed her pursuit, they never truly harmed her.

Yet, if this continued, Angel believed the Rabbit Girl wouldn’t last long. After all, her high-speed dodging relied on her Bloodline Power.

Previously, the Rabbit Girl only used her Bloodline Power during the moment of attack, for what Angel would call a sure-kill strike.

But now, just to dodge ink bullets, she used her Bloodline Power, while the cow-headed octopus magical creature was using its innate talent. In terms of stamina, the Rabbit Girl was undoubtedly at a disadvantage.

Realizing that its ink bullets hadn’t hit the Rabbit Girl, the cow-headed octopus then switched to another mode after a moment of reflection.

Its eight tentacles spun wildly, like propellers, unleashing tenfold the number of ink bullets, wildly raining down.

At this point, these were no longer ink bullets, but rather an ink bullet storm!

The rain of bullets completely sealed off the Rabbit Girl’s mobility range.

Once the rain curtain falls, the rabbit girl can’t run at all!

Angel saw this scene and was ready to force the rabbit girl offline, but before he could make a decision, the rabbit girl’s figure vanished.

When she reappeared, she was already on top of the bull-headed octopus.

A halo of carrots flickered.

The head of the bull-headed octopus exploded directly into fragments.

And the rabbit girl rolled several times in mid-air and landed steadily on the ground...

Not long after the bull-headed octopus died, an ink bottle with a bullhead cap floated in the air. There was no doubt that ”Wonderland of Dreams” came alive again, and this ink bottle-like crystal creation must contain the memory dream related to the bull-headed octopus.

The rabbit girl, as always, ignored the ink bottle and instead sat atop the corpse’s bullhead, silently resting and waiting for the next round of magic monsters...

Angel, who had watched the entire battle, remained in a bewildered state.

Just now, how did the rabbit girl suddenly disappear? How did she pass through the rain of bullets and reach the bull-headed octopus’s head? You must know there’s at least a hundred meters distance between them! How did she pass through it?

Instantaneous Movement?

When Angel is in God’s View, he is more sensitive to energy monitoring, and he didn’t feel any spatial fluctuations, meaning there was no instantaneous movement.

Since it’s not instantaneous movement, how did the rabbit girl manage it? And why didn’t she use it at the beginning?

Angel pondered over it but couldn’t come up with a reasonable explanation.

However, since the rabbit girl has such a technique, he doesn’t need to worry too much about dealing with long-range magical creatures.

Thinking of this, Angel temporarily shifted his gaze away from the rabbit girl.

It’s not that he’s not curious anymore, but ”Greed Feast” is already within reach.

Moreover, how the rabbit girl accomplished it, aside from her knowing the answer, Laplace also knows the answer.

And Laplace is inside the Greed Feast right now!

...

On the other side, shortly after Angel’s gaze moved away, the rabbit girl received another magic monster.

After easily resolving it, the rabbit girl continued her usual routine, sitting on the magic monster’s corpse waiting. However, this time, she waited for a long time, more than a quarter-hour, and still no magic monsters appeared.

Just as the rabbit girl wondered if the eliminator had been killed by her, a rustling sound suddenly came from behind.

This sound was not an attack and bore no malice.

Yet the rabbit girl cautiously retreated a few steps, assuming a defensive posture before turning her gaze.

However, she didn’t see a magic monster but instead saw a delicate black shadow descending from above.

Accompanied by a series of clangs and rebounds as it landed, the shadow finally settled.

The rabbit girl followed the sound and saw an unexpected item on the ground more than ten meters away.

It was a headband.

Moreover, it was a rabbit ear headband.

Black long ears, pink and white inner ears, and a black gemstone-like clip, which looked exceedingly beautiful—at least, in the rabbit girl’s eyes, this headband was very pretty.

She herself had rabbit ears on her head, but her rabbit ears were decorative on her hood and purely white.

The black rabbit ear headband happened to complement her white rabbit ear hood to form a pair.

Seems pretty good?

If Angel were here, he would definitely be surprised. Not surprised by the black rabbit ear headband, but by the fact that the rabbit girl actually has a childlike innocence and desire.

Yes, desire.

The rabbit girl walked step by step toward the location of the black rabbit ear headband, hesitating cautiously as she approached it.

She had heard before that her actual avatar entering Helen’s Dream was pulled in by a whip.

That is to say, approaching crystal creations might pull one into their interiors.

This was why the rabbit girl had seen crystal creations before but completely ignored them.

Her goal was to kill eliminators, not to explore special dreamlands within crystal creations; she’s clear on her objectives.

By approaching the rabbit ear headband, she intended to see if this object might also be a crystal creation.

If it’s a crystal creation, it would definitely react as she got closer...

But it didn’t.

Even when the rabbit girl picked up the rabbit ear headband from the ground, nothing unusual happened.

Although the rabbit ear headband felt like it was made of crystal material, given there was no abnormal reaction, it probably wasn’t a crystal creation produced by ”Wonderland of Dreams” authority?

Moreover, the rabbit girl also noticed that killing magic monsters had a certain probability of spawning crystal creations nearby, but their existence time did not exceed five minutes, soon disappearing invisibly.

At this point, more than twenty minutes had passed since the last crystal creation was born. In other words, this couldn’t be a crystal creation born from the magic monsters she killed.

There was no one else nearby... Does it mean this isn’t a crystal creation?

As for what it specifically is, the rabbit girl doesn’t know. However, touching it didn’t give any special feeling.

Could it simply be a mundane item?

If it’s an ordinary thing, can it be taken away?

The rabbit girl’s eyes flickered with intense longing; she really liked this headband.

Even if it can’t be taken away... trying it on now should be fine, right?

Thinking this, the rabbit girl looked at the cute headband, unable to resist her heart’s stir.

Slowly reaching out, she gently placed the rabbit ear headband on her head... or more accurately, on her hood.

She liked it very much, yet her caution wasn’t abandoned. The hood still contained Bloodline Power; if the headband was problematic, Bloodline Power could directly shatter it.

However, what the rabbit girl hadn’t expected, at the moment she put on the headband.

The surrounding environment suddenly blurred.

When she came to her senses, she had vanished from the Crystal Origin of Dreams...
