Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 1809: Section 1810 Ritual Studies

Because of Anada, Angel was quite curious about the content related to Ritual Studies.

According to Anada, Ritual Studies was taught to her by Zithraide. So, when Angel left this morning, he asked Zithraide about it.

The result was unexpected; Zithraide outright said he didn’t really understand Ritual Studies.

As for why Anada understood Ritual Studies, it was because of a book Zithraide gave her. The book was titled ”Random Thoughts on the Handling of Abundant Grains,” also known as the ”Grain Book.”

Zithraide had Anada work as a cook at an antique shop, which is why he gave her this book on handling grains to have a look at it at her leisure.

Unexpectedly, for Zithraide, this ”Grain Book,” which he had come across by chance, actually contained some content on Ritual Studies.

The information in the ”Grain Book” wasn’t anything advanced, including the rituals, which were all focused on grain processing and collectively termed as the ”Pray-Eat Ritual.”

The Pray-Eat Ritual can quickly process food, enhance its taste, and even gradually transform food into magic cuisine through prolonged rituals. This almost touches upon the culinary domain, yet the Pray-Eat Ritual can achieve it.

Because of the Pray-Eat Ritual, the food Anada made had some transcendent flavors, which made Zithraide notice that the ”Grain Book” actually included content on Ritual Studies.

Zithraide tried the Pray-Eat Ritual himself. For him, as an Official Wizard, it wasn’t very difficult, but for an ordinary apprentice, it would really test their talent. Anada, as a Junior Apprentice, could successfully grasp the Pray-Eat Ritual, which wasn’t just luck but true talent.

In order to determine Anada’s situation, Zithraide brought in the teaching of the Round Stone Ceremony for Anada to learn. In less than two weeks, Anada had mastered it quite well, even using her own blood to create an offering for the ceremony.

After this, Zithraide was certain that Anada truly had a talent for Ritual Studies.

This made Zithraide both surprised and delighted, but at the same time, a bit regrettable. The surprise was that Ritual Studies is a very comprehensive sect, with content relating to both self-improvement and the enhancement of others. Anada’s success in Ritual Studies would greatly benefit Zithraide. However, the regret lay in the fact that Ritual Studies were almost nonexistent in the Southern Domain.

Zithraide spent the past months seeking knowledge related to rituals and even asked others to look at various auctions but only ended up finding the Round Stone Ceremony.

So, for Anada to make achievements in Ritual Studies, it is challenging in the Southern Domain. The only advantage is that ritual studies are not suppressed by extreme sects like Inscription Studies are.

This was the answer Zithraide gave Angel. He was willing to explain in detail because he hoped to rely on Angel’s connections to help find some knowledge about Ritual Studies.

After hearing Angel’s account, Greya nodded in understanding: ”I see. No wonder last night’s banquet had ordinary foods with faint transcendent traits. I originally thought Zithraide specifically selected high-quality ingredients close to transcendent; now I realize it was due to the Pray-Eat Ritual.”

”You know about the Pray-Eat Ritual?” Angel asked curiously.

”Of course.” Greya nodded: ”Knowledge related to food is something Gourmet Sorcerers must dabble in. The Pray-Eat Ritual naturally falls within that scope.”

”Zithraide was right, the Pray-Eat Ritual isn’t easy to learn. Talent is very important, and given that the ritual takes a long time, and the transcendent level of the transformed ingredients isn’t high, there are more convenient culinary tricks that can replace it, so almost only Felicia and I know it in the Candy House.”

”The Anada you mentioned, being able to learn the Pray-Eat Ritual in such a short time, indeed has great talent.” Greya shook her head: ”It’s a pity she was born in the Southern Domain, which is almost a wasteland for Ritual Studies. It’s very difficult to seek ritual heritage there.”

After Greya’s lament, she noticed Angel looking at her with eager eyes.

Angel: ”Since you know the Pray-Eat Ritual, you should know the specifics of the ceremony, right? Can you explain it in detail?”

”You want to study Ritual Studies?” Greya asked puzzled.

Angel shook his head. He understood the principle of not overloading himself. He still had a long road ahead in Alchemy, so how could he possibly spend a lot of time on Ritual Studies? He was just curious and wanted to learn some basic content of it.

Greya thought for a moment and felt that this knowledge wasn’t particularly precious. The Barbarian Cave’s Cloudtop Library must have records on it. If she shared the information, she might even earn some favor. With this in mind, Greya decided not to withhold anything and began explaining to Angel.

Angel listened intently, deciding to hand over the Gondola’s control to Asaz. It was Asaz’s first time controlling the Gondola, so it flew slowly, making the Flying Boat journey more leisurely.

In just ten-odd minutes, Angel nodded frequently. He had read some books related to Ritual Studies before, but his understanding was still shallow. Greya’s explanation, combined with a demonstration of the Pray-Eat Ritual, quickly allowed Angel to solidify his knowledge into a systematic framework, which was immensely beneficial to him.

During their exchange, Asaz finally piloted the Gondola onto the Pamiji Plateau.

Shortly after arriving at the Pamiji Plateau, Asaz suddenly pointed into the distance and said, ”There seems to be a glow over there!”

Asaz’s exclamation drew everyone’s attention.

Following the direction of his finger, they saw a cloud of mist in the distance, within which a golden, gleaming door emerged. It looked very luxurious, much like the entrance to a secret treasure found by warriors in epic tales after braving thorns and trials.

This is why Asaz’s voice contained a hint of obvious excitement when he saw the door.

However, Sanders glanced at it and then closed his eyes without speaking; Angel and Greya also didn’t show any signs of surprise.

As Asaz puzzled over this, Greya said calmly, ”That is just a remnant left on the Pamiji Plateau, now resurfacing due to some uncertain factors.”

”Remnant?” Asaz’s eyes brightened. Could this be an opportunity?

But before Asaz’s anticipation could even begin to simmer, reality dashed it. The splendid golden door nearby suddenly opened, and a Junior Apprentice dressed in a loose wizard robe, yawning, lazily walked out. He looked around, seemingly startled by the sight of the Gondola, and quickly shut the door again. The golden door then started to slowly vanish.

”Forgot to tell you, these remnants that resurface can be determined that most of them were private spaces similar to laboratories established by past predecessors of the Barbarian Cave. Among them, 99% have been explored, and some even used by people as their secret bases for so long, like just now, the apprentice probably lives in that remnant,” Greya explained.

”So that’s how it is.” Disappointed, Asaz lowered his head.

Asaz piloted the Gondola through the cloud mist, still looking back unwillingly, but the golden door had disappeared. In the end, he could only sigh with regret and continued to pilot toward the depths of the Pamiji Plateau.
