Chapter 1112: Section 1113: Divine Scourge and Divine Envy

Angel was also in a daze at the time.

When that Official Wizard named Winchester took to the stage, not only were the wizards on the floating iceberg showing doubt, even Fafnir let out a cold huff, “This sickly person is going to fight? I think his strength can’t even defeat Canaan.”

The named Canaan was also sizing up that skinny youth in the Illusionary Realm. Judging by the aura he displayed, as well as his own strength, he was probably at the level of an ordinary wizard.

After his journey through the ocean’s rhythms, Canaan’s strength, although not as transformative as Pannas Charm Demon, should be sufficient to deal with an ordinary wizard in the home ground of the Abyss.

“He indeed looks very weak, probably at Pulapa’s current level,” Canaan also privately felt that Winchester certainly could not defeat Komodo.

Angel: “The puppeteer behind the puppet show, Mu Ying, didn’t seem to have high strength either, yet he controlled three great demons. Perhaps, he has similar methods.”

“On the stage of the puppet show, even if I am not in the heavens, I can feel the threat. Yet, from this person, I feel nothing but disease and weakness in him, without a trace of danger.” This was why Fafnir judged that this human was purely courting death.

Angel originally thought that Winchester might have a Mysterious Object on him, but listening to what Fafnir said, it seemed his own judgment might have been wrong?

However, Angel still believed that Frostmoon wouldn’t just send his teammate to die without reason.

He didn’t jump to assertive conclusions like Fafnir; instead, he silently looked at the sky, waiting for what would come next.

Then, he saw the following amazing scene.

The main reason Komodo was so formidable was that it had gained some understanding from the floating flames, achieving effects close to those of True Knowledge Spell Techniques when casting low-level skills like “Fire Release.”

With Komodo’s energy reserves, releasing countless Fire Releases, fireballs, Flame Hands… was effortless. And each of these countless low-level skills was incredibly powerful; an ordinary wizard would be severely injured if even slightly grazed, and would almost instantly be burned to ashes under a concentrated attack.

With such rudimentary techniques, Komodo had achieved the ability to overpower countless skills with brute force.

Confronting Winchester, Komodo, due to an inexplicable sense of caution, didn’t immediately release a mountainous onslaught of flame attacks but squinted its eyes and extended its index finger.

A small flame emerged from the tip of the index finger covered in black-red scales, tipped with sharp claws.

With a snap—

The orange-red flame, trailing a long tail like a meteor, shot towards Winchester.

Although it was just a small flame, the wizards who had seen Komodo slaughter left and right knew well the terrifying energy contained within it. No one present, aside from True Knowledge Wizards, could probably withstand it head-on.

But in the next second, their perception was shattered.

As the small flame rushed towards Winchester, he showed no fear. Even as the fiery light already made his face glow, and his pupils began to reflect the shape of the flame, only then did he extend his hand.

A glimmer of dark green light flickered in his seemingly plain eyes.

His hands drew strange, graceful arcs—as if stirring the clouds with the flame hiding within them.

His slender, pale hand merely cradled the flame and then turned his hand over.

The obedient orange-red flame ceased its motion on the tip of his finger, and Winchester, with a faint smile, snapped his fingers, dissipating the flame.

Komodo created with a snap, Winchester extinguished with a snap. By doing so, Winchester clearly retorted against Komodo’s haughty aura.

“What’s going on? How come he caught it so easily?” Everyone’s face was filled with confusion.

The entire scene looked completely harmonious as Winchester easily intercepted the fire. Had it been a normal flame, everyone there could have done what Winchester did, but… that was no ordinary flame!

Issac, upon seeing Winchester’s move, heaved a long sigh of relief. But soon, he stiffened his face again; now was not the time to relax. Special as Winchester’s abilities might be, they could at most handle Komodo, but the two great demons behind Komodo, who were recovering from their injuries, were the threats that needed to be swiftly eliminated!

“Winchester, I will coordinate with you!” Issac teleported behind Winchester instantaneously, facing a now visibly disturbed Komodo.

…

Angel revealed an “as expected” expression.

The people of Frostmoon not stopping Winchester from going into battle sent a signal: This person was definitely not easy to deal with.

Indeed, he had a trump card hidden.

Angel glanced at Fafnir, intending to see what his face looked like after being proven wrong. However, Fafnir was frowning at that moment, muttering “Something’s not right,” and paying no attention to Angel.

Angel turned back to look at Canaan, who dodged Angel’s gaze, picked up the Magic Marrow Meat previously placed on the table, and chewed with a look of nonchalance, not forgetting to comment, “Delicious!”

With an expressionless face, Angel’s mouth curled into a slight smile: “If it’s delicious, then eat more.”

“No, something’s not right!” A light flashed in Fafnir’s eyes as if realizing something: “The flame has changed!”

“The fire transformed? What do you mean?” Angel asked, puzzled.

Fafnir: “The fire unleashed by Komodo seems very ordinary, but it contains a wonderful power that is in harmony with the rules of the fire in the sky. Yet, when that human caught the flames, there appeared to be no change on the surface, but all the strange powers within the fire vanished. Therefore, the nature of the fire has already changed!”

Changed in nature?

An idea suddenly emerged in Angel’s mind, feeling that this explanation somehow resembled the powers of someone?

…

After Winchester joined the battle, the scales of victory tipped again toward the humans’ side.

Komodo had considered that this seemingly frail human might pose a threat, but Komodo never believed that its fire could be suppressed.

After all, the Monarch of Fire was about to descend; the fire rules in Lassudral had undergone certain changes, and it happened to have captured these changes, fusing them into its own fire. Anyone challenging its flames was an insult to fire and a provocation to the throne! Under the majesty of fire, no one could defeat it!

But an exception had occurred!

This Winchester actually dared to defy its flames, something Komodo had never imagined.

Komodo’s expression slowly turned grim: “Just intercepting a spark and thinking it can turn things around? Impossible! Under the protection of the Fire Monarch, no one can defeat me!”

As its roar echoed, a multitude of flames appeared out of thin air around Komodo. It seemed to be shrouded in a rain of fire, the intense heat causing the light to warp.

Endless Fire!

Komodo swung its arms, and a vast amount of flames, turned into a barrage of fiery arrows, charging toward Winchester.

The stagnated situation was reignited!

Previously, Komodo had been using very basic techniques, but this was the first time it applied an intermediate rank fire control technique, and the power of the rules infused in the flames was even more vigorous than before.

With its seething murderous intent and thoughts of destruction, the rain of fiery arrows, piercing through endless space, tracked and hunted down Winchester!

Behind Winchester, Issac’s eyes held a trace of fear, as the rain of fiery arrows was enough to destroy his defenses. However, Winchester, in stark contrast to Issac, showed no fear or retreat, and even charged forward into the rain of fire.

With each fiery arrow that made contact with Winchester, he was able to soothe its savage power, turning it into mundane flames that dissipated away.

He was like a natural field that nullified fire, not only resolving all the terrifying flames but also clearing a safe path for Issac as he charged at Komodo.

From a distance, on the floating ice, came a rhythm of drumbeats as if from ancient times, a distant world. It was a sound wizard wearing a bizarre mask who brought out a set of primitive bone instruments, playing a war song for Winchester!

In the war song and the drumbeats, one could faintly hear primal roars. It was a longing for light and a pursuit of victory!

In this war song, Winchester displayed his power beyond his limits, his speed increasing faster and faster, even exceeding the speed of the fiery arrows!

All the flames, in his hands, turned into shimmering points of light, creating a hazy and dreamy scene, unlike anything of this world.

And behind Winchester’s display of flowing light, a phantom of the Dragon of Darkness lurked—

Winchester’s body was ultimately frail, and even though he could dissolve the fire, facing Komodo head-on would still require Issac’s cooperation.

Just wait until he got close to Komodo, and that would be the moment for the dragon’s roar!

Komodo’s demeanor had also changed from arrogance to solemnity.

And with Winchester getting increasingly closer, Komodo started to hesitate. Behind it were Minotaur and Urdixinos, who were still busy restoring their wounds. If it dodged, those two fools would inevitably be injured; but if it didn’t dodge, it might be hurt itself!

Komodo’s thoughts were in disarray; all because of Winchester’s abilities, which had completely changed the current situation!

“Damn it, how did he do it?!”

This question was not just on Komodo’s mind; many wizards on the floating ice were also puzzled. Flames that no one could deal with were being neutralized by an otherwise unknown, ordinary wizard.

Of course, he was unknown before. After this battle, Winchester’s name would undoubtedly echo throughout the Wizards’ Realm.

But more than fame, they wanted to know, how did he do it?

“Lord Vifette, do you know what’s the trick here?” someone asked, looking toward Vifette, who was not only highly experienced but had also traveled other Wizards’ Realms and had seen much.

Vifette hesitated for a moment: “Actually, I thought of many ways to solve this fire. But these methods either can’t be implemented in the Southern Domain, are already lost, or require special talents… Winchester solved it so effortlessly without any external help—I can think of only a few methods.”

“Combining what Maher said earlier—about Divine Punishment and Divine Jealousy—I thought of some possibilities.”

“He may possess a special talent.”
