Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 2215: Offer

Phoenix feather... I haven’t heard about something like that before... From the records, the ancient phoenix race, along with the true dragon race vanished in the past following the calamity that shattered the old world...

Silently thinking this to herself as she skimmed through a long list filled with details on countless rare and exotic treasures and cultivation resources the Myriad Treasure Hall had obtained in the past and recorded down, some the Myriad Treasure Hall had in storage, while others had either been traded away already or were in locations difficult to access even for someone in the Star Creation Realm.

Amongst these countless precious and rare treasures, she soon enough found what she was looking for, a feather that looked no different from the feather Xuan Hao had shown her and referred to as a phoenix feather. The main difference of course was that the description of the feather was wholly incomplete on her side.

[Unknown Feather]

[Description: An unknown feather containing immense power sealed deep within it that is inaccessible. Theorized to belong to some kind of ancient divine bird. More knowledge on the feather and its origin is difficult to dig out through divination. Any attempt to dig out information through divination resulted in severe backlash or immediate death. No knowledge could be obtained in either case.]

[Current quantity in storage: 3]

[Risk: Null, possess no risk when handling]

[Tier: Divine, true rank unknown, but given divine rank due to suspected origin being a divine bird of some kind]

Just looking through the description, if not for the fact that an image had been attached to the description. Allowing her to compare it with the illusory image of the feather Xuan Hao had created, she would have no way to know that this unknown feather was what Xuan Hao was talking about.

Still, even with the added knowledge that this was a phoenix feather, it wouldn’t change much for the Myriad Treasure Hall, as it was clear from the attached description that they had no way to utilize this mysterious feather. If anything, it would only make it easier to sell in case they end up putting it up for auction in the future.

However, with this unknown feather- or rather phoenix feather being something the Star Shattering Sect was looking for, there was no way the Myriad Treasure Hall would agree to put it up for auction. Instead, it would undoubtedly be used a leverage to engage in trade with the Star Shattering Sect.

If anything, given the fact that even without knowing what it was, it had been given the divine tier quality by the elders in charge of appraising it in the past, it could very well serve as the main item used in trade for a dao rune, something that was a best case scenario to Elder Green Willow, as the main purpose of engaging in trade was to obtain dao runes from the Star Shattering Sect

Even better, from the way Xuan Hao presented the phoenix feather, it was clear that the three currently in the Myriad Treasure Hall’s storage wouldn’t be enough to satiate the Star Shattering Sect. Giving them a potential way to get even more dao runes than just one by searching for more of these feathers.

After all, though the Myriad Treasure Hall only had three of these feathers in storage, it wasn’t because they couldn’t obtain more of them, it was mainly because they didn’t see any use in spending their resources obtaining these feathers that they couldn’t find any real use for, let alone understand their origin.

But... Now that they had someone who clearly had something they wanted and also wanted these feathers that had now been identified as phoenix feathers, the Myriad Treasure Hall would be more than happy to throw resources at the problem and utilize their vast network to gather more of these feathers to trade with the Star Shattering Sect.

In fact, if it wasn’t for the chaos currently taking place back in the Southern Central Region, they would even have been able to utilize their auction houses to host different events that encouraged those with unique feathers or other monster byproducts to come to sell them at their auction. Snapping up any of the phoenix feathers that appeared in the process.

After all, though the Myriad Treasure Hall’s appraiser had been able to determine the terrifying power dormant within the phoenix feather, the same couldn’t be said for others trying to determine the value of the phoenix feather, as most would just see it as a somewhat unique feather belonging to some kind of unknown bird demon beast.

To truly determine its value, one would need someone as skilled as the head appraiser of the Myriad Treasure Hall, an expert who had dedicated his life to researching countless unique treasures, artifacts, cultivation resources and other things that passed through the Myriad Treasure Hall over the years. A being whose strength was also by no means weak, being one of the pillars of the Myriad Treasure Hall who had reached the Star Creation Realm.

And... The forces who had someone like that at their disposal were limited.

Even if someone weaker when it came to appraising treasures might still be able to properly examine the phoenix feather, their strength couldn’t be lacking either, as they needed to at least have reached the Star Creation Realm to grasp onto that faint dormant power hidden away within the phoenix feather.

Just thinking about this, Elder Green Willow could not help silently pray that the chaos in the Southern Central Region would calm down by the time she got back so she could start a proper search for those phoenix feathers. Hoping to use them to trade with the Star Shattering Sect for their dao rune blueprints.

”Ehm, I see, our Myriad Treasure Hall does indeed have some of these phoenix feathers in storage, though I would need to return to the main Treasure Hall to retrieve them. Not to mention, it should be more than doable for us to gather more with a little time.” Still, she didn’t mention any of this nor how many phoenix feathers her Myriad Treasure Hall had. Only stating the fact that they had them and could gather more.

”I understand... Though these phoenix feathers are quite valuable, I wonder if there is something specific your Myriad Treasure Hall is looking for in return?” And as Xuan Hao took in what she said, he also understood that she was trying to fish for something specific. Potentially a rare ancient cultivation resource she hadn’t brought up before, scared that bringing up something to valuable at the start might scare him away.

Here it is!!!

Something that was indeed the case, as Elder Green Willow happily perked up upon hearing what he said before inching forward with somewhat nervous look still present in her eyes. ”The thing is, outside of these ancient cultivation resources, my Myriad treasure Hall is also looking for dao rune blueprint.

As you should know, most of the dao rune blueprints circulating are from the ancient era and they are difficult to come by for any new forces emerging after the calamity. Making progress through the Star Creation Realm and even reaching the realm in the first place a difficult endeavor...”

”So, you want the dao rune blueprints of my sect?”

”Indeed! Of course, we know that this is something of utmost importance, so we don’t expect to get a full blueprint. Instead, we hope to get parts of a complete dao rune blueprint, this way allowing us to grasp a true path forward without leaking your inheritance in the process.” Finishing what she had prepared to say, Elder Green Willow paused before turning to look towards Xuan Hao, the nervousness she had been holding back starting to surface as she understood this was the moment that success or failure would be determined.

After all, if the Star Shattering Sect decided against trading their dao rune blueprint now, it would essentially become impossible for them to bring it up again.

Not something they could do anything about, as some ancient hidden sects were like that and guarded their inheritance with utmost importance. Never wanting to leak out even a small fragment of it to outsiders no matter the price they offered in return.

At the very least, the Star Shattering Sect had shown a clear desire for a formerly unknown divine tier item within the Myriad Treasure Hall. Meaning the success of a potential trade had increased significantly.

Still, though it had increased, Elder Green Willow also understood that there was still a good chance the person before her refused her outright now that she had brought up the matter of wanting part of the sect’s inheritance. Even if it was incomplete.

The only positive was that silence from the other party meant he was seriously considering her offer instead of an outright refusal. Showing the importance of this phoenix feather to the Star Shattering Sect in her eyes.
