Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1892  A Fateful Encounter (4)

Not reacting immediately to the two wandering cultivators hanging pitifully behind them, Mui and Song Jia took their time to observe the two. Curiously checking to see if any spiritual fruits had grown on the vines that had captured the two. Partly thinking that capturing someone might be some kind of requirement for the vines to grow spiritual fruits.

Unfortunately, the two were left disappointed, as there was no sign of any spiritual fruits on the vines that had captured the two wandering cultivators. Instead, there was a clear sign of the vines attempting to squeeze the life out of the two innocent wandering cultivators, one already having fainted, while Chen Qiu found himself just barely holding on with his slightly stronger cultivation realm.

Even though Mui and Song Jia wanted to observe the situation and development of the vines for a bit longer, they also understood that doing so would likely end up with the already fainted wandering cultivator ending up dead, something they wanted to avoid, as they werenʼt demonic cultivators.

Whoosh~ Thump!

For this reason, after stalling the situation for a few seconds longer, Song Jia took the lead and stepped forward to cut through the vines ensnaring the two wandering cultivators. Freeing the two as they fell onto the ground with a heavy thump. Following which Chen Qiu began breathing heavily to catch his breath while his brother slowly began showing signs of waking up again. The near-death experience having clearly affected the two far more than Mui and Song Jia had expected, causing the two to feel a bit bad for involving these two innocent souls in their little experiment by accident.

Unaware of the chaos that the experiments they had left behind elsewhere throughout the territory of the Star Shattering Sect had ended up causing no lack of life and death experiences for those wandering cultivators or sect disciples unfortunate enough to stumble upon them. The only positive was that the strength of what they left behind had mostly been limited in strength. None of them having exceeded that of the Nascent Soul Realm, or… At least none of the left behind experiments that had been discovered so far posed a threat to anyone beyond the Nascent Soul Realm…

Of course, without knowing any of this, Mui and Song Jia still felt bad about the situation that they had made these two wandering cultivators go through for no discernable reason outside of them having been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Because of this and also partly because the two feared this incident potential drawing the attention of Elder Song, the two began silently brainstorming how to compensate these two wandering cultivators enough to ensure that they wouldnʼt spread any information about what had happened.

Using their superior strength was an option, but given that they had no plan of killing two innocent wandering cultivators, they decided against it… And… Given that the two were rather lacking when it came to coming up with anything to do for these two wandering cultivators, Mui ended up to just directly ask the strongest among the two who had managed to somewhat calm himself down and recover from what had just happened if there was anything he wanted as an apology for what had just happened.

”Something… I want…?” In response, Chen Qiu was left in a state of complete bewilderment. Never in his wildest dreams could he have imagined this kind of situation.

Already considering himself experience as a wandering cultivator, he knew full well how rare this kind of opportunity was, as a normal senior cultivator would just throw him and his brother aside if they were lucky enough to survive accidentally getting involved in one of their experiments, while a worst case scenario would be the senior killing them out of anger for interrupting his or her experiment.

To be honest, Chen Qiu had already considered himself lucky that the senior seemed to be someone kind enough to let the two of them leave alive. Never expecting the other party to actually start talking about compensating him and his brother. Leaving him in a state of bewilderment. Having no clue how to answer the question that Mui had asked him.

Of course, this wasnʼt just because he was bewildered over the situation that he found himself in, but also because he understood that whatever he asked had to be done within a certain limit, as asking for too much might end up offending this senior into killing him, something he had heard about happening in the past to other wandering cultivators.

”I… I wouldnʼt dare ask senior for anything. Just being able to survive is more than enough for this junior.” For this reason, after carefully thinking things through, Chen Qiu decided to humbly lower his head and proclaim that there was no need to for the two seniors to give him and his brother anything, a safe answer in his eyes, as it gave the senior a way to easily send the two of them away without having to give up anything in the process.

At least… That was what Chen Qiu thought the reaction would be…

”Huh…? You… You donʼt want anything!? Donʼt tell me- You are from the servant quarters and plan to inform Elder Song!”

Unfortunately, he wasnʼt dealing with a normal senior cultivator, but was instead dealing with Mui, who almost immediately jumped to a worst-case scenario after hearing the refusal from Chen Qiu. Directly proclaiming him to be someone from the servant quarters about to inform Elder Song about the situation and in turn cause punishment to soon enough follow as Elder Song would undoubtedly have something to say about the experiments that she and Song Jia had been conducting outside the sect.

”Huh? Ser-Servant quarters…?” Not at all understanding what Mui was talking about, Chen Qiu could only tilt his head in utter confusion. Not having any clue what it was she was talking about nor why she suddenly had such an exaggerated reaction to what he said.

”I knew it! No way would someone just happen to find us by accident! These two might even be people sent over by Elder Song to keep an eye on the two of us! Ah! What do we do! Song Jia, do you have any ideas!?”

Seemingly confirming her thoughts after seeing his reaction, Mui turned towards Song Jia with a panicked expression on her face. Clearly fearing this Elder Song that she had mentioned earlier.

”No! Wait a second! Iʼm not someone from this servant quarters you mentioned nor will I inform some Elder Song about what happened here, I-”

”Ah! Song Jia! Letʼs run before Elder Song shows up! No time to waste, he might have already secretly informed Elder Song about the situation! If we donʼt get out of here immediately, there is no way for us to continue the experiments on spiritual fruits!”

”Mui… I donʼt think-”

”No time to waste!”

Whoosh-!

Before Chen Qiu even had the chance to say another word or Song Jia had the chance to stop her anxious companion, Chen Qiu watched with awe as Mui grabbed hold of Song Jia before flying off the next second.

Yes. Flying off!

In other words, the person he had just interacted with was either one of the legendary figures who had surpassed the Nascent Soul Realm or some powerful Nascent Soul Realm cultivator that had managed to get their hands on a rare flying artifact.

Although… Given that he hadnʼt really seen the other party use any flying artifacts just now, he was more inclined towards Mui being someone who had surpassed the Nascent Soul Realm.

But… As this thought began to take hold, Chen Qiu couldnʼt help going over what he had just gone through, as he stared off into the direction that Mui had disappeared in.

No matter how he thought about it, he simply couldnʼt associate her with the image of a legendary figure that had surpassed the Nascent Soul Realm.

And the so-called Elder Song that had caused such a powerful cultivator to react like that, Chen Qiu simply couldnʼt imagine how terrifying this Elder Song figure was.

However, as the situation calmed down following Mui and Song Jia leaving, Chen Qiu realized that the vines that had been cut off earlier had slowly started recovering at some point. Showing clear signs that they would soon be strong enough to capture him and his brother again.

Because of this, even if part of him was curious about the thing that had been created by the two seniors, he simply didnʼt dare to linger around any longer. Grabbing his barely awake brother before using all his strength to escape as far away from this forest as possible.

Luckily, the two seniors had given him some kind of spiritual liquid to drink earlier that had allowed him to recover his strength. Making the escape from the forest before he was captured again possible.
