Chapter 866: Chapter 373 Tang Song from Liu Qingning’s Perspective_2

”What’s wrong, Lili?” Liu Qingning paused the music.

Huo Lili grabbed her arm and whispered, ”President Liu, I saw on the recruitment website that our company is hiring a manager for the software department. Are you leaving Century Wisdom?”

Liu Qingning was silent for a moment, then said, ”Lili, Century Wisdom is doing well. Whether I stay or leave doesn’t really make a big difference.”

To maintain company stability, the personnel changes among a few leaders have not been announced yet.

Back when the company moved from the Imperial City to Shen City, many old employees left; currently, most of them are newly recruited.

Only Huo Lili and a few others came over from the Imperial City, maintaining a good relationship, so she didn’t hide it.

Hearing her answer, Huo Lili adjusted the round-frame glasses on her face, and hopefully said, ”Is President Cheng leaving too? Are you going to a big company or continuing with startups? It was you two who recruited me back then. I don’t have many friends in Shen City, so I actually kind of want to keep working with you both.”

When technical leaders switch jobs or resign, they often leave with their team.

Century Wisdom isn’t considered a big company and is currently undergoing B-round financing. If she could follow familiar leaders to a better platform, she’d be quite happy to do so.

Liu Qingning shook her head gently, ”I’m not sure where I’m going yet, but I will probably leave Shen City. You can stay at Century Wisdom for now; when Qingfeng has suitable opportunities later, I’ll have her refer you there.”

Huo Lili was a bit dazed, ”Aren’t you going together?”

”Well, I have my own plans.”

”Oh...” Huo Lili sighed with regret, ”I always thought you two would end up together sooner or later.”

Not just her, other colleagues in the company also had this thought.

One Qingning, one Qingfeng, both graduates from Imperial University, started a business together, a great match.

Imperial City, Shen City, office, meeting room, overtime, team-building...

They never quarreled at work, and Cheng Qingfeng cared a lot about Liu Qingning.

There were many intersections and possibilities between them.

Although every time colleagues teased them, Liu Qingning clearly denied it.

But in their eyes, these two leaders seemed quite a match.

”Qingfeng and I are just normal colleagues and alumni, it’s not as complicated as you all think. Lili, actually, Century Wisdom is pretty good, riding on the AI wave, and currently drawing a lot of capital attention; it might even go public in the future.”

”Hmm, thank you, President Liu.” Huo Lili nodded, ”Then I’ll go back to continue working overtime, bye-bye.”

”Bye-bye.”

After waving goodbye, Liu Qingning walked over to a shared bike station.

She tied her hair into a ponytail with a hair tie and picked a bike that seemed fine, scanning to unlock it.

The music in her headphones resumed as she pedaled towards her rental, humming a tune.

The summer evening air still lingering with the day’s heat.

The breeze blew her bangs away, bringing a trace of coolness.

The yellow bike wove through the bustling streets, the neon lights on both sides beginning to flicker, ushering in the city’s nightlife.

Liu Qingning’s mood lightened, the fatigue from work seemingly dissipating with each turn of the wheels.

After more than ten minutes.

The bike stopped outside the east district of the third phase in Songping Village.

”Creak—” The dark brown door opened, and Liu Qingning stepped into the rental unit.

A 60-square-meter two-room apartment, 5500 yuan per month.

The southeast-facing balcony, and the decor was nothing special.

The upside was the good location, a nice neighborhood environment, only two kilometers from the company, with a large CR Vanguard at the doorstep, and nearby businesses being quite lively.

She lived in the small 7-square-meter secondary bedroom, barely fitting a 1.5-meter single bed; besides that, there was only a small wardrobe.

The living room had been rearranged by her and Liu Shuang, with the TV moved out and replaced by two desks.

Usually working from home, overtime was all done in the living room.

Looking at herself in the full-length mirror, Liu Qingning sighed helplessly.

Long hours of overtime and staying up had taken a toll on her skin, and her figure wasn’t spared.

Her height of 163 cm, and her weight had climbed to 53 kilograms.

Though her bust accounted for a significant portion, her originally tight abdomen had become chubby, and her face rounder.

Compared to her school days, her looks had declined a lot.

What used to support her hard work was earning money and applying the skills she learned.

Now, with her planned goals temporarily at a standstill, she realized she had lost a lot too.

She made herself cucumber and egg soup in the kitchen, taking care of dinner.

After tidying up the kitchen, Liu Qingning washed up and carefully applied a facial mask.

Leaning on the soft fabric sofa, she casually flipped through a professional book.

”Click—” The sound of the door lock turning was heard.

Immediately afterward, the door opened.

Carrying a tote bag, Liu Shuang walked in, saw Liu Qingning sitting on the sofa, and patted her chest, saying, ”You scared me; seeing you right when I get home is really unusual, and your face mask is a bit scary too.”

In the past, Liu Qingning had truly been in a 9-9-7 work schedule, coming home to the rental as late as 10 p.m. most nights.

Dragging her tired body to wash up, she would chat for a while and go straight to sleep.

”Haha, I’m someone about to resign, so naturally there’s no more reason to keep working overtime.”

”Exactly.” Liu Shuang took a plastic bag out of her tote bag and placed it on the coffee table, ”I brought you some snacks, daily nuts, and beef jerky, all your favorites.”

Licking her lips, Liu Qingning reluctantly spoke, ”I’m not eating them, I’m on a diet! I’m so fat now, too ugly to look at.”
