Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4715  Encounter With The Demonheart Shadow Palace

The disciples of the Demonheart Shadow Palace became alarmed.

Seeing their fellow disciple explode into a black-blood mist filled with cadaveric corpse poison, their expressions changed. One of them instantly decided to retreat, while two others threw something towards Davis and scattered in different directions.

More poison bombs exploded inside the black mist.

However, they were instantly cleared when a hand swept past them, sleeves whizzing as it created a strong annihilative wind. The wind gathered into bubbles and carried the black mist towards the three individuals who retreated in different directions, chasing them.

But after a certain point, Davis lost them.

His senses were suppressed here, and the yin fog was thick.

He might accidentally blast Fairy Thunderblaze or even attract the blood calamity if he released his true power.

However, that didnʼt mean he would let them escape.

Summoning his soul body, he sent it out against one of them. As for his Solitary Soul Avatar, he hadnʼt recreated it again due to the mounting pressure he had to withstand from the Eternal Eclipse Bird. Cutting the soul short wouldnʼt do him any good now. He would faint from the surmounting pressure of both the pain of the split and the mountainous pressure of the Eternal Eclipse Bird, like he did previously when dealing with Almer Spacewill.

Davis waited in his place.

Soon, his soul body returned, carrying with him one corpse-looking man whose skin was thin and face skeletal like the woman he had killed.

He was still alive, trembling incessantly at the hands of his soul body that grabbed him by the nape and pressed him through the soul.

”You have one chance to explain yourself. Who are you? What are you doing here?” Davis calmly said.

”S-Spare me… I will tell everything I know.” The Demonheart Shadow Palaceʼs disciple instantly caved in.

He had already caved in when he wordlessly allowed his soul body to subdue him. Now that he finally spoke, it was like a chance for pardon had arrived.

”I am Yin Li, a top disciple from the Demonheart Shadow Palace in the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy. There are over twelve of us here, gathering to explore because we learned that this is a rare ghost and corpse-yin attributed place. This environment is immensely beneficial for our cultivation, so once we arrived at the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak, we used their ferries to get here.”

”Yin Li…” Davis contemplated before nodding, ”You wonʼt risk yourselves just for a cultivation environment. What are you hiding? What kind of treasure is here?”

Yin Liʼs gaze shook, ”The Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak had a treasure map which we bought using an Exalt Grade resource in exchange. However, we are unable to find it. Ever since then, we have separated, roaming at the edge as we try to find it.”

”The blood carnage Calamity didnʼt appear yet?”

”No, it hasnʼt appeared.”

”It hasnʼt appeared?” Davis found it a bit strange.

”Is it because your flesh is corrupted that the calamity isnʼt interested in hunting you all down?”

As far as Davis had seen, the ghosts here were still alive, untouched by the blood carnage Realm Calamity. It seemed disinterested in them, so by reason, as long as they donʼt go disturb it, ghost cultivators and corpse cultivators should also be able to survive.

”I think so…” Yin Li answered hesitantly, ”We havenʼt gone to the inner region for fear of its retaliation. In the outer region alone, there are many ghostly yin-type treasures waiting to be found. I can offer some-no, everything I have. Please spare me.”

”Hand it over.” Davis didnʼt stand on ceremony as he reached out his hand.

Yin Liʼs expression churned, but he eventually gave it to Davis. He didnʼt know who the other party was for him to maintain this supreme might, making him think that he couldnʼt do anything against him. He counted him unlucky after handing over his spatial ring and life ring in fully glory. However, his eyes glowed as he looked into the distance.

Davis barely registered what was inside since his family already had a thousand Primarch Grade resources. His momentary sweep did not register anything special other than him possessing four Low-Level Primarch Grade resources of the ghostly yin attribute. He felt that it was good for a single individual.

Just as Davis was thinking whether he should use it to nurture his Ghost Will somehow, he turned to look and saw three people coming towards him.

Two people were bound by golden lightning, sparkling, and in the center was a woman clad in a crimson-purple robe. She hovered towards him and dropped the two prisoners on the barren surface like they were trash.

Davis gazed at her with a complicated look, ”Youʼre back. Donʼt do that again.”

Fairy Thunderblaze landed and looked away from him, ”I apologize. Something mustʼve been wrong with me.”

”You are free to leave, but I would assume that you abandoned the deal and move by yourself. I also canʼt protect you if youʼre out of my sight.”

Fairy Thunderblaze turned to look at him, ”You would still protect me even if I abandoned the deal and left?”

”Did you forget that I said we were allies before?” Davis raised his brows, ”As long as you donʼt do anything unwarranted to harm our allied relationship, I will make a move if you are in danger.”

”I see…” Fairy Thunderblaze said with a low voice.

She then waved her hand and sent scarlet divine flames towards the two prisoners.

*Sszizle!~*

Scarlet flames instantly lit up on their head, causing them to scream in pain. The flames were their bane, yet the heat was quite low, torturing them.

”Idiots sent corpses to battle me and threw corpse poison at me…” Fairy Thunderblaze frowned, ”How do you suggest I deal with them?”

”Kill.” Davis calmly said.

*Booom!~*

A thunderous boom echoed as two arcs of divine golden lightning struck the two prisoners, causing their entire bodies to be fried in an instant. Their souls were snuffed out, allowing Davis to reap them like he reaped the souls of the numerous undead here.

However, these soul essences were not up to par with the living souls. Davis could guess.

After all, he would reap all three spiritual souls and seven physical souls together. The spiritual souls of these beings have already departed to the reincarnation cycle. What these ghosts, ghost cultivators, and corpse cultivators truly were was nothing but undead who remain in the living world because their departed physical souls persist due to various regrets, resentment, or even unorthodox formations that trap the soul from leaving.

These souls were called ʼdepartedʼ, as in, departed from life but didnʼt return to the natural cycle of the heaven and earth. After all, the seven physical souls do not go to the reincarnation cycle. Those were the spiritual soulsʼ function. The seven physical souls instead return to the heaven and earth and perhaps nurture the environment, sometimes leaving a remnant aura.

This was common among higher-stage cultivators whose Will might remain as an oddity even after death.

Fairy Thunderblaze looked at Davis with a complicated gaze. Did he order their death because she was harmed, or was it because he only needed one prisoner?

Watching his fellow disciples die easily, like they were ants, Yin Li trembled with his eyes wide open. His lips quivered, and he smashed his head against the surface, ”Spare me, Great Lords!”
