Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

A few hours later, Velastra had restored its operation, with the berserk slaves either eliminated or captured.

The city guards were completely overshadowed as of this moment, with the Crown Prince’s Crimson Guards effectively taking on the role of enforcement.

”Listen up, the danger has been resolved, and the magic formation is being repaired. The Crown Prince is deeply distressed and aggrieved by the tragic incident.” A Crimson Guard appeared on a large platform outside the hotel and captured the attention of the crowd.

”This tragic incident is a lesson, but also a reminder that we will not falter in the face of demise. The Crown Prince has already ordered a full investigation into the cause of this incident and promised everyone a satisfactory result!”

As the crowd listened to the guard’s words, they all clenched their fists together.

Without a doubt, none of them believed this incident was an accident.

Such a major outbreak of berserk slaves couldn’t possibly be an accident!

It had to be man-made, and as for who the culprit was.

They could only rely on the Crown Prince to give them an answer.

Naturally, there were still some in the crowd who planned to cause a rift. They raised their voice and openly questioned.

They were people whom Darius had planted to act as victims and incite the crowd.

”The Crown Prince has just arrived in the city, and this outbreak happened. Could it be that the incident is actually related to the Crown Prince and everything here is just self-directed play to swindle us?”

They had just spoken up when all of a sudden, they were lifted up into the air.

Soon, Mirelle appeared from out of nowhere. Her presence quickly captured the attention of the crowd, who recognized her as their savior.

”It’s Commander Mirelle!”

”She’s really the goddess and saint!”

The crowd erupted into cheers and praises for Mirelle, granted that some of them were about to meet their end when Mirelle appeared like a goddess and saved them.

Mirelle smiled briefly in response to the frantic crowd. Still, she placed a finger on her mouth, effectively silencing them as they waited for her speech.

Her attention quickly shifted to the person who had tried to incite the crowd.

”Speak, who are you working for?” Mirelle questioned coldly. ”The Crown Prince had done his best to rescue the victims, but you are here accusing him of causing the incident. Do tell me! What made you hold such a mindset?”

The person struggled, their legs shaking back and forth from being held up in the sky. They didn’t expect to immediately be targeted and exposed to the public.

’How did they even know it was me?’ The person had cleverly concealed himself in a large crowd to avoid being spotted.

Yet Mirelle was still able to pinpoint his precise location and capture him.

”I-I don’t work for anyone!” Nevertheless, they still struggled and refused to admit they were working for Darius.

”The Crown Prince actually wants to silence people who hold doubts about his intention!” He then yelled aloud, seemingly trying to rile the crowd and sway them to his side.

Unfortunately, they had severely underestimated the crowd’s intelligence.

Silence people?

What a ridiculous statement!

If the Crown Prince intended to build prestige, then there was no need to rescue this many people. Even just a few were enough to showcase he was different from Lord Wesley and Marquis Darius, who had yet to appear to help resolve the incidents.

Till now, both of these two powerhouses had stayed their hands and stayed hidden like the rest of the wealthy people.

”Still want to slander the Crown Prince?” Mirelle snorted and injected a strand of mana straight into the person’s internal organ.

Initially, there was no reaction from the man. But after a while, their pupils constricted and screamed in agony.

”Ahhhhhh!”

The strand of mana started to wreak havoc from inside his body. But what made the torture extremely vile was that their life was sustained.

In other words, they would continuously suffer excruciating pain while being unable to resist or kill themselves.

”No, stop it, please!” The man cried aloud and pleaded for mercy.

”Want me to stop it?” Mirelle curled her lips upward. ”Then tell me who sent you here to defame and attempt to incite the crowd to target the Crown Prince.”

”It’s the Marquis!!” The man instantly exposed his boss. The pain was too much for him to handle.

Such a level of pain wasn’t something the likes of him could endure.

With the Marquis’ name being thrown, the crowd soon became agitated.

”Hmph, what a great Marquis we have!”

”As expected of those at the top!”

”Full of rottenness and corruption yet continuously defame the good people!”

’Hmph, want to keep your mouth shut? Fat chance!’ Mirelle had personally invented this particular torture method to pry open the enemy’s mouth.

She never revealed or spread such a method because it would only cause chaos once the information got into the wrong hands.

To the public, they only knew she sent a strand of mana, which was a common attack device.

Nobody would suspect anything!

”The Marquis is really bold to undermine the Crown Prince of Aldros. Does the city of Velastra hold such disregard for the Royal Family?” Mirelle released the man and questioned loudly.

While the man no longer felt the pain, he was now surrounded by the masses.

These people had lost their loved ones or suffered a heavy trauma. It was the Crown Prince’s light that had salvaged them from the endless darkness.

To them, the Crown Prince’s prestige had far surpassed the likes of Lord Wesley and Marquis Darius.

Hence, they were all filled with rage and anger when seeing the man who was hired to dampen such a good man.

”Kill this slanderous bastard!”

”My daughter was nearly killed, and it was thanks to the Crown Prince’s people that she was saved! How dare you try to discredit the Crown Prince?”

”The city is rotten enough, and the Crown Prince was trying to cleanse the corruption. We shall not allow these villains to live!”

In the blink of an eye, the masses started to thrash and brutally kill the man on the spot.
