Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1377: Chapter 1377: The Terrifying Prophecy

However, Zhao Zichen’s arrival was not without its benefits. It not only made the staff here more attentive to everyone but also saved Ye Fei the trouble of inviting her again, as he had been thinking of gathering all the heavyweight figures to discuss something, especially considering the previous odd behavior of the Jiang sisters.

The living room of the main house in the West Courtyard of the Nuwa City inn was temporarily used as a conference room. Every person seated there was a dominant figure in their own right. Zhao Zichen, Yin Hanyan, Jiang Ruoyu, Jiang Ruoyun, Tang Qinghe’s mother, Jia Wendu, and the leader of the Chang Ge Sect were all present. Except for the three factions of the General’s Mansion that had already been virtually eliminated, the leaders of the ten major forces were all accounted for. Of course, there was also Ye Fei, the initiator of this meeting.

The eight of them sat around a round table. Except for Ye Fei, the other seven were not quite clear about the purpose of this meeting. Jiang Ruoyu was the first to speak, ”Brother Ye, what exactly did you call us here for?”

”It’s about that black-robed figure. I can’t figure out his origins. What do you all think?” Ye Fei got straight to the point.

”I feel he is not from the True Emptiness Realm,” Zhao Zichen was the first to speak. She was the only one among them who had fought the black-robed figure, so she had the most say on the matter.

Tang Qinghe’s mother frowned and said, ”Could it be a strong cultivator from another world? But what could his intentions be? Just to create chaos?”

”It seems so. Think about it, if all our Great Perfection cultivators were wiped out by him in one go, what would happen to the True Emptiness Realm?” Yin Hanyan chimed in.

”Without Great Perfection cultivators, everyone would fight for territory, and chaos would ensue,” Zhao Zichen pointed out sharply.

Jia Wendu said, ”It would be like that. The True Emptiness Realm would be bathed in blood. It’s too terrifying. Fortunately, we stopped him this time.”

The leader of the Chang Ge Sect frowned and said, ”The problem is that there might not be just one of him. If a few more show up, just three would be enough to overwhelm us.”

Upon hearing this, everyone fell silent. They had all considered this dreadful possibility, but they had no idea how to deal with it. The opponent’s strength was just too overwhelming. As the leader of the Chang Ge Sect had said, if three such individuals were to come, Zhao Zichen could handle one, and Ye Fei, who seemed no weaker than Zhao Zichen, could handle another. But what about the third one?

Ye Fei also remained silent with everyone else, but he secretly observed the Jiang sisters, who had not spoken since the formal discussion began. He noticed that they, like when facing the black-robed figure, had a slightly fearful look in their eyes. He directly asked, ”Sisters, do you know something?”

Everyone was well aware of the Jiang sisters’ personalities, so no one paid attention to Ye Fei’s way of addressing them. Instead, they all turned their gazes towards the sisters.

Seeing everyone looking at them, Jiang Ruoyun sighed softly, ”Alright, it’s not good to keep things bottled up. Let’s just say it.” After speaking, she glanced at her twin sister.

Jiang Ruoyu nodded and said, ”Alright, we don’t know much either. We only know that our Jiang family has passed down a prophecy since ancient times. The prophecy says that when the world is unified or restored to peace, disaster will strike.”

”Is that all?” Ye Fei asked.

Jiang Ruoyun nodded, ”Yes, just that one sentence. We didn’t believe it at first, but a thousand years ago, it came true.”

Jiang Ruoyu’s face showed a look of fear as she explained, ”A thousand years ago, the True Emptiness Realm had more than just ten major forces. There were many, but they formed a delicate balance, with each side checking the others, leading to a peaceful world. But then, out of nowhere, chaos erupted. No one knew what was going on. In short, everyone started fighting, resulting in the death of over a thousand Great Perfection cultivators, with countless others perishing. It was like the end of the world every day. No place felt safe, and everyone, including ordinary people who didn’t cultivate, lived in utter misery.”

After the sisters spoke, everyone suddenly understood many things. No wonder they had not unified the world back then despite their unmatched strength, and instead, they fought among themselves. Previously, people thought they had some disagreement or were just acting out of youthful impulsiveness. Now it was clear that it was all intentional.

As for the subsequent developments, the Jiang sisters didn’t need to elaborate because even Ye Fei knew that after the great catastrophe a thousand years ago, the True Emptiness Realm remained in chaos for another few hundred years before gradually forming the current pattern of ten major forces dividing the world. And even after the ten major forces were established, they didn’t immediately stabilize but continued to fight among themselves until the past century, when things finally settled down.

But just at this moment, the black-robed figure appeared, once again fulfilling the Jiang family’s prophecy. It was hard not to believe it, and it was also understandable why the Jiang sisters were afraid. Among everyone present, only they had experienced it twice.

At this point, the clues were exhausted. The origins of the black-robed figure were still unclear. Even the top people in the True Emptiness Realm could only react to the situation and couldn’t think of any other way, because the current situation was that the enemy was in the dark while they were in the light.

For a moment, everyone’s mood became quite heavy.

”Well, don’t worry too much. Maybe there’s only one black-robed figure. After all, how could there be too many such powerful individuals?” Ye Fei finally spoke to comfort everyone, though he knew in his heart that this was just a form of self-consolation.

After all, although the black-robed figure was strong, Ye Fei could defeat him in less than three moves if he fought personally.

If he could be so strong, others naturally could too.

In that case, the black-robed figure might just be a minor character.

The others, although not as insightful as Ye Fei, were not in much better spirits.

The mood remained heavy, but there was an upside: with a sense of crisis, the previously fragmented major forces could now take the opportunity to unite.

For the next two days, everyone was brainstorming for solutions.

The leader of the Chang Ge Sect even suggested that they secretly join forces but pretend to be on the verge of conflict to deceive the unknown, and possibly non-existent, force.

This was not a bad idea, but Zhao Zichen dismissed it with a single remark.

In her words, as leaders of their factions, how could they become true strong individuals by acting so cautiously? She was truly a monarch of her time!
