Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 693: A Matchmaking Visit to the Li Family

”Big brother, youʼve got a call…”

The next morning, just as Ye Fei was considering sleeping in a bit longer to avoid Liliyaʼs intense clinginess, his phone rang.

This ringtone was something he had asked Ye Yunqi to record before coming to the capital.

Each womanʼs name was called out specifically—for example, if Liu Yiru called, the ringtone would say, ”Big brother, itʼs Momʼs call…” But this time, there was no name attached to the ringtone, which meant the caller wasnʼt one of his beloved women. This made Ye Fei a bit impatient.

Reaching out to hold Song Xuan, who was also about to be woken up by the phone, Ye Fei gently comforted her by stroking her ample chest (what kind of comfort was that?). With his other hand, he picked up the phone and saw that it was Li Canghai calling.

They had just met yesterday. Could it be that his future father-in-law was about to propose a collaboration? With this thought in mind, Ye Fei answered the phone in a hushed voice, ”Brother Li? Whatʼs up?”

”Brother Ye, why are you whispering?” Li Canghai didnʼt answer Ye Feiʼs question directly but instead asked one of his own.

”What do you think?” Ye Fei replied irritably. ”With a beauty by my side, how could I bear to wake her?”

Li Canghai was momentarily speechless. This kid—today he had planned to introduce him to his daughter, but instead, Ye Fei hit him with this line. It was infuriating. However, since he was determined to make Ye Fei his son-in-law, he had no choice but to endure it.

”If you have time, come over to my place. Thereʼs something Iʼd like to discuss with you.”

”I have time, I have time. Iʼll be right over,” Ye Fei said eagerly. He had been looking for a good excuse to escape Liliyaʼs clinginess, and now his future father-in-law had handed him the perfect opportunity. Without hesitation, he agreed and hung up, quickly getting ready to leave.

This left Li Canghai on the other end of the line feeling puzzled. Just moments ago, Ye Fei had sounded annoyed, but now he was excited.

Could it be that he already knew the purpose of the visit?

After hanging up, Ye Fei turned to look at Song Xuan in his arms. Sure enough, his ”comforting” had worked wonders. Song Xuan, who had been in a half-asleep state due to the ringing phone, was now fully awake.

Perhaps because she had been soothed so well, she was looking at Ye Fei with big, watery eyes, a hint of desire in her gaze.

Womenʼs recovery abilities are truly remarkable! Ye Fei thought to himself, resisting the urge to engage in some morning exercise with her. Instead, he leaned over and kissed her lips, saying with a smile, ”Li Canghai needs to see me about something. Iʼll head over there. Sleep a bit longer, my dear.”

”Mhm,” Song Xuan nodded obediently. Although she felt a bit of desire, she was more exhausted than anything else, so she quickly closed her eyes and fell back asleep.

Ye Fei hurriedly got dressed and stepped outside. Thankfully, Song Ci and Liliya hadnʼt woken up yet, saving him from another round of torment.

When he tried to resist Liliyaʼs clinginess, her pitiful gaze was simply too hard to resist. Yesterday, he hadnʼt been able to fend her off even once.

Quietly slipping out the door and greeting the diligent guards, Ye Fei drove the car he had borrowed from Li Canghai the day before and sped over to his villa.

Thinking that the other party might be proposing a collaboration, Ye Fei felt a small thrill of excitement. After all, the capital was a complicated place, and breaking into it wasnʼt something that could be done overnight.

At the entrance to the Li family villa, Ye Fei saw Li Canghai standing there with a big smile on his face. This made him feel a bit puzzled.

From the looks of it, it didnʼt seem like they were going to discuss a collaboration. That was an extremely important matter, and no one could be so relaxed when facing it.

”Brother Li, why did you come out personally? Youʼre making me feel unworthy,” Ye Fei said warmly as he got out of the car, though he couldnʼt help but feel like he might be overdoing it.

After all, he had already taken possession of the manʼs daughter, and now he was still calling him ”brother.” But changing the way he addressed him too suddenly wouldnʼt make sense either, so for now, this was the only option.

Li Canghai was even more enthusiastic than Ye Fei. He stepped forward, grabbed Ye Feiʼs hand, and said with a hearty laugh, ”Brother Ye, youʼre too kind. Just having you here is enough to bring glory to my humble home. You have no idea—Iʼve been up since early this morning wanting to call you, but I was afraid of disturbing you, so I waited until now.”

Is it possible that this guyʼs preferences have shifted? Ye Fei thought with a shiver. Itʼs very likely. Otherwise, as a powerful figure without a son, why wouldnʼt he find another woman?

Thinking this, Ye Fei couldnʼt help but shudder and subtly pulled his hand back from Li Canghaiʼs grasp.

Li Canghai didnʼt notice Ye Feiʼs discomfort at all. With the same enthusiasm, he slung an arm over Ye Feiʼs shoulders and walked inside with him, inviting Ye Fei to join him for breakfast.

Ye Fei sat down without hesitation, but before starting to eat, he asked again, ”Brother Li, what exactly is this about?” It wasnʼt that he was impatient, but without knowing, he couldnʼt feel at ease.

”Itʼs nothing major. I just wanted you to come over and hang out,” Li Canghai said with a laugh. After making Ye Feiʼs hair stand on end, he added, ”And to introduce you to my daughter. Youʼre both young people—you should have a lot in common.”

So thatʼs what it is! Ye Fei let out a long sigh of relief. It seemed he had misunderstood the man. Otherwise, why wouldnʼt he ask to be alone with Ye Fei and instead introduce him to his daughter?

But judging by his behavior, could it be that he wanted Ye Fei to be his son-in-law? If so, that would be perfect. He had been worrying about how to bring up the matter of Li Ruonan with him.

With his mind at ease, Ye Fei relaxed and chatted with Li Canghai over breakfast. Throughout the meal, Li Canghai kept talking about his daughter, further confirming Ye Feiʼs suspicions.

”Ye Fei, itʼs still early. How about we go out and get some exercise?” Li Canghai suggested after breakfast. Besides wanting Ye Fei to be his son-in-law, he also hoped to spar with him.

The young manʼs strength was incredible, and a match might give him some new insights.

”Sure,” Ye Fei agreed readily. He had been wondering how to change the way he addressed Li Canghai, and now the man had stopped calling him ”brother” first. So Ye Fei took the opportunity to say, ”Then Iʼll ask Uncle Li for some guidance.”

Hearing Ye Feiʼs change in address, Li Canghai was delighted. It seemed his constant praise of his daughter in front of Ye Fei had worked!

With their thoughts in mind, the two men made their way to the training ground in the backyard of the villa.

Li Canghai took the lead and assumed a fighting stance. Although he was the elder, Ye Feiʼs strength was too formidable for him to take lightly.
