I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 332, Part of Training

“Look at how you’re showing that indifferent attitude of yours again, that’s why Lan gets so angry,” Kai said. He knew that Luo and Lan were Half Siblings with the same Mother, and he knew their Mother’s dying wishes.

Naturally, he understood that Lan just wanted her Big Brother to live better, so she would not have to worry. After all, becoming strong was most important in the Tribe, and Lan naturally wanted to be the strongest.

If she had to worry about her Big Brother every day, how could she focus on her own training?

So, her greatest wish was for her Brother to quickly become sensible and transform into a strong Warrior so she would not need to worry about him anymore.

If that happens, their deceased Mother could rest in peace, and she would not feel guilty about not being able to help Luo.

There was a time when Lan had thought about giving up or ignoring him, but the guilt in her heart each day, and that torment became unbearable.

Thus, she gradually started nagging every day, even though Luo still appeared carefree and aloof as always.

But, at least by speaking up, her guilt would lessen. Sadly, this was perhaps just a way to convince herself that she had at least done something.

“I really don’t understand, why must one put oneself through such hardship?” Luo frowned. This was something he had never understood, and almost everyone in the Tribe was like this.

Everyone pursued becoming strong, or becoming someone capable of handling things independently. So, they lived very difficult lives every day. But, he did not want this. He felt that training on schedule, having meat to eat, and being able to sleep was already a blessed life.

“This is about being responsible for oneself, and becoming strong.” Kai said with conviction.

He was very serious about this aspect and would not allow himself to become mediocre. His Father would not allow it either – after all, as the Chieftain’s Son, he had to be strong to some extent.

Though there were times he wanted to slack off, when he thought about how his Father had so many Sons, and each one was very capable, he immediately dismissed that thought. If he did not get strong, he would only become the laughingstock of others.

He was not willing to concede in this aspect. Being the youngest, he would naturally be looked down upon, so he had to prove himself with his own strength.

“I think my current life is pretty good, there’s no need to deal with such troubles.” Luo shrugged.

“If you wanted to pursue an easy and carefree life, why did you come out with me?” Kai asked, puzzled.

Leaving the Tribe for training was not a simple matter – one could lose their life at any moment. Moreover, this training was extremely tiring. The hardships of the journey aside, the most difficult part was when one’s spirit was crushed.

Just like now, they did not even know where the next Tribe was, or how to proceed to the next location.

And at this moment, what was worse was that they did not even know which direction to take from where they stood. Worst, they still needed to deal with Ferocious Beasts.

“Can’t I just be worried about your safety? You’re my only friend. If something happened to you during the new year, I wouldn’t know what to do.” Luo waved his hand.

He knew he was not well-liked in the Tribe because he was a bit fat and appeared dumb. So, no one liked him and everyone bullied him. Though, he did have the strength to fight back.

However, he did not wish to resist. If others wanted to take a job at him then so be it. He would just joke along with them.

In this regard, Kai was his only true friend, only Kai was truly sincere to him. So, Luo greatly valued their friendship.

Others could bully him, but he absolutely would not allow anyone to bully Kai, which was why he came along on this training journey. Otherwise, with his lazy, comfort-loving nature, he would not have wanted to take such a risk.

“You’re thinking too much, nothing will happen to me. I’m stronger than you, you know?” Kai proudly said.

Indeed, Kai was much stronger than him. In a one-on-one fight, Luo definitely would not be his match.

“Though you’re stronger than me, one more person means one more helping hand. We can look out for each other.” Luo smiled.

“Who knows? Maybe you just didn’t want to train in the Tribe every day, so you followed me out.” Kai rolled his eyes.

He and Luo had been friends for many years. How could he not know what Luo was like? He just wanted to make things easier for himself. So, he left the Tribe with him at this time, and since he had never left the Tribe since childhood, it was a good opportunity to experience something new.

“Hahaha…” Luo laughed, scratching his belly as he said, “Why are you calling me out when it is already so obvious?”

“You really are hopeless.” Kai did not want to deal with him anymore and walked ahead.

Luo took a deep sniff and muttered with confusion, “Seriously, I don’t understand. Just what is wrong with them?”

He saw that both of them were acting strange today. Normally, they would not talk about him so much, so why were they doing it now?

“You have great potential, and you are strong. You just don’t want to get stronger, that’s why they feel like it’s such a waste.” Li calmly said.

She usually did not participate in conversations between the three of them, but now that they were arguing in the forest, and arguing fiercely while lost, she chimed in. Moreover, it was already noon. If they continued arguing, it would be evening soon.

If they have not found a safe place by nightfall, they would have another restless night.

After all, they were still just Warrior Trainees, not Totem Warriors, so their perception of their surroundings was not as keen as Totem Warriors.

So, each night out in the Wilderness was their most torturous time. Besides physical exhaustion, the mental torment was the worst.

They were already exhausted and wanted to sleep, but if they slept, they would all be in danger. So, even when exhausted, they had to endure. This was actually part of their training.

This reminded them how the Tribe was safest, and once they left the Tribe, they had to always be on alert.

This was also a way to strengthen their minds, so they would be more resilient when they became Totem Warriors.

“Forget it. I’ll decide if I want to change after we return to the Tribe from this training.” Luo still appeared unconcerned.

He had not really reached that critical point yet, so he remained carefree.

“Fine. That’s for you to decide yourself.” Li also walked ahead.

She knew that no matter what they said, if he did not realise it himself, there was nothing they could do.
