Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 260 - 150: Battle Over, Everyone Advances!_3

Harold held the Hook Claw from the Soul-Devouring Monster and carefully examined it, saying, “Reporting to the Lord, this kind of Hook Claw has already taken shape. Its usual function is to be made into rope hooks or traps.”

“But previously, I read in a book about a method that can improve the conventional rope hook into an Ejection Hook.”

“Ejection Hook?”

Harold nodded, “Yes, during use, it can be launched instantly, hooking enemies tens of meters away, even dozens of meters away, controlling them.”

Cao Xing’s eyes lit up instantly.

Wow, this is good stuff!

If every soldier had one, and the rope of the hook was sturdy enough, it might even forcibly control some large beasts.

He exclaimed with delight, “Harold, you’re truly a wise blacksmith.”

Harold shook his head modestly, “The truth comes from practice, Lord. I’m just discussing theory without experience.”

“Besides, to ensure the flexibility of the Hook Claw, we need some resilient and lightweight material to replace the rope.”

Cao Xing nodded, “Alright, I got it. I’ll pay attention when we go out today.”

Then, he took out the [Large Hook Claw (Purple)] that had been dropped by the Boss of the Soul-Devouring Monster.

“Harold, what can we do with this?”

Looking at the huge Hook Claw, over seventy centimeters long.

Harold had a hint of amazement in his eyes too.

“What a hard material, and it’s sharp. With its sharpness alone, as long as the power is sufficient, it could easily cut through the skin of third-tier creatures!”

Hearing this, an appreciative look appeared in Cao Xing’s eyes too.

Harold was right, these large Hook Claws were dropped from third-tier Boss Level monsters, extremely sharp and hard.

Harold seemed to be contemplating what to make with these Hook Claws.

After a moment, Harold said, “My idea is to craft them into scythes!”

“Scythes?”

“Yes.”

Harold nodded, “Using the inherent sharpness of these Hook Claws, we can forge incredibly destructive scythes.”

“Giving them to the warriors to use could greatly enhance their destructive power on the battlefield.”

Cao Xing seemed to have thought of this too.

The shape of this large Hook Claw indeed resembled a scythe.

And he had only eight of these large Hook Claws.

Barely enough to form a scythe team.

Cao Xing nodded, “Then do as you say, Harold.”

“Alright, my lord.”

Harold continued, “However, crafting with such advanced materials requires more time. We might only forge three to four a day.”

Cao Xing nodded, “No worries, Harold. Take your time.”

“When you’re tired from smithing, take a break and maybe read a book. Balancing work and rest is important too.”

Hearing this, Harold smiled warmly, “Thank you for your concern. You are truly a considerate lord.”

Cao Xing patted his shoulder and then walked out of the Blacksmith Shop.

…

After coming outside the territory, Cao Xing called out again, “Combat personnel, gather!”

Upon hearing Cao Xing’s command,

a crowd of over a hundred gathered.

Assam and others, along with 102 Ascalon Soldiers, all looked at Cao Xing with a resolute gaze, ready for his command at any moment.

Cao Xing nodded and said, “Today, we’re going out on a trip.”

“The work in the territory will continue as usual.”

“Assam, Andrew, Blom, Hilda, Renice, Sarah, Blot…”

“You seven will come with me today.”

These seven people named by Cao Xing were all backbones of his territory.

Those named looked delighted, seemingly honored to go out on a campaign with Cao Xing.

Especially Black Smoke Shaman Blot, who felt a bit resentful for not being taken out on previous trips.

Now, Blot’s eyes were only filled with excitement.

He slightly bowed, respectfully saying, “To battle for you is my honor, honorable Lord.”

Of course, the proud Hilda was the only one who looked dismissive.

Cao Xing nodded, then looked at the two centaurs.

“Kanter, Kandar, your task today is to each lead twenty Ascalon Soldiers, split into two groups, to scout the resource points or monsters around our territory within ten kilometers.”

“If you encounter enemies you can’t defeat, remember to retreat immediately.”

“If you kill any beasts, bring their corpses back to the territory and wait for my return to handle them.”

The two centaurs replied respectfully, “As you command, mighty Lord!”

“We will complete the tasks you’ve entrusted us with!”

Then Cao Xing looked at Yilena.

“Yilena, today you will lead twenty Ascalon Soldiers, along with Blitz and the others, to protect our subjects who are mining resources, preventing them from being attacked by other beasts or Ice Nest Monsters.”

The beautiful Snake Woman flicked her tongue, her eyes filled with a hint of resentment as she said, “Lord, can’t I join you in battle outside?”

Cao Xing shook his head and said, “We already have enough personnel outside. Comparatively, the territory needs you more. Only then can you better assist me, understand Yilena?”

Hearing this, Yilena’s face lit up with a smile.

She raised her trident, “Alright~ dear Lord, I will protect those Polar People.”

Cao Xing nodded and then looked at the archers beside him.

“Little Eliza.”

Hearing Cao Xing’s voice, Eliza, who had been daydreaming, instantly snapped back to attention.

“Lord! Eliza didn’t sneak the Cloud Yak milk; the milk slid into my mouth at night by itself!”

“Woo, please don’t punish Eliza…”

Cao Xing rolled his eyes. He hadn’t even asked, and Eliza confessed on her own.

Speaking of which, if she hadn’t said anything, Cao Xing wouldn’t have known this girl snuck out at night to drink milk.

Cao Xing sighed exasperatedly, “Fine, I won’t hold you accountable for sneaking milk.”

“Today, you will lead your Archer Team and another 40 Ascalon Soldiers. I’ll also entrust you with Aili and Hiluviya under your command.”

“Your task is to slay any Ice Nest Monsters near the territory. Don’t let any monster attack our walls.”

“If you do well, I’ll reward you when we return in the evening.”

Hearing about the reward, Eliza’s eyes sparkled instantly.

She excitedly said, “Yay! Another reward? Fantastic!”

“Rest assured, my Lord, Eliza promises to complete the task and won’t let a single Ice Nest Monster near the foot of our walls!”

Cao Xing smiled too, then said, “Alright, move out, and follow my instructions.”

The group of over a hundred dispersed into several teams.

At this time, Xia Yanni gently spoke with Tong Chuchu beside her, “Sir… the furs you gave us have all been processed. Is there anything else you need us to do?”

Tong Chuchu, along with Wally Bell, eagerly said, “Big brother, please assign us tasks too!”

Cao Xing shook his head, a gentle smile on his face.

“You’ve worked hard. I know these past few days, you’ve been staying up late to finish processing that batch of furs. Now you can take a rest.”

…
