Chapter 1147: Chapter 1147 Maintenance

An hour had passed without her even realizing it.

Ross’s hands had worked patiently over her body, easing every trace of tension from her muscles, lingering nowhere with haste yet missing nothing at all.

Ross looked down at her and smiled faintly.

She slept peacefully now, her breathing slow and even, her face relaxed in a way he hadn’t seen before.

He knew how much care he had put into it—how thoroughly he had tended to her, how completely he had helped her body unwind.

Tonight could have gone differently. She had come prepared for it, expecting it.

But Ross decided otherwise.

He wanted her first time to be something she would remember fondly, not something rushed or taken in the heat of the moment.

There was no need to hurry.

He had all the time in the world—and when that moment finally came, he wanted it to be truly special.

”Hmmmm...”

Sabrina stirred slowly, her consciousness drifting back in gentle waves.

Her body felt light, almost weightless, wrapped in a warmth that lingered pleasantly against her skin.

She stretched instinctively, expecting the familiar stiffness that usually greeted her mornings—but it never came.

There was no soreness, no dull ache in her shoulders or legs, no lingering fatigue from the constant stress of survival.

Instead, she felt... amazing.

Completely refreshed.

A soft, contented smile spread across her lips as she lay there, savoring the sensation.

It had been so long since she’d felt this good that it took her a moment to realize just how unusual it was.

Slowly, she began to search her memories, trying to piece together the events of the night before.

Then it hit her.

Her eyes flew open.

”What?!” she gasped, her breath catching in her throat.

This wasn’t her tent.

The ceiling above her was solid, the air still and quiet.

There was no thin canvas overhead, no faint sounds of others shifting in their sleep nearby.

Panic flickered briefly in her chest as she pushed herself up slightly and looked around.

She was in Ross’s room.

Her heart skipped violently as she turned her head to the side.

There he was.

Ross lay beside her, fast asleep, his expression relaxed and unguarded.

His breathing was slow and steady, as though the world outside didn’t exist.

In the dim overnight light, he looked almost peaceful—nothing like the terrifying, overwhelming figure she knew he could be.

”It can’t be...” Sabrina muttered, her voice barely louder than a breath.

Fragments of the previous night came rushing back—the exhaustion that had weighed her down, the way he had guided her to the bed, the warmth of his hands as they worked through her tense muscles.

She remembered how her thoughts had grown hazy, how her body had relaxed despite herself.

And she remembered being very clear about what she wanted.

Slowly, carefully, she checked herself. Everything was in place. Nothing felt out of order.

He really hadn’t done anything else.

That realization sent a confusing swirl of emotions through her chest. Surprise came first.

Then disbelief. And finally—frustration, sharp and unexpected.

Of all people, she hadn’t expected Ross to not fuck her.

She glanced back at him, studying his sleeping face.

There was no trace of guilt or awkwardness there, no sign that he’d struggled with temptation.

It almost annoyed her.

”Unbelievable...” she whispered, half amused, half irritated.

She sank back into the pillow, staring at the ceiling as her thoughts raced.

Had she not been clear enough? Had he misunderstood?

Or was this simply how he was—doing exactly what he said he would, no more and no less?

Her lips pressed together as a decision slowly formed.

”Should I be more direct?” she murmured to herself.

Turning her head, she spotted the small clock on the bedside table.

6:00 a.m.

Ross usually woke up at seven.

An entire hour.

Plenty of time.

Sabrina’s gaze slid back to him, her earlier confusion fading into resolve.

Whatever hesitation she’d had before was gone now.

If he truly needed clarity, then she would give it to him—this time without room for misunderstanding.

Carefully, so as not to wake him just yet, she shifted slightly on the bed, her heartbeat quickening.

This morning, she would take control.

Sabrina’s fingers trembled as she eased the thin blanket down Ross’s body, inch by inch, the coarse fabric catching slightly on the stubble of hair along his chest.

The dim glow of light painted faint orange streaks across his skin, highlighting the rise and fall of his ribs with each slow, sleeping breath.

Beneath the blanket, he wore only his faded boxers—nothing else.

The sight of so much bare skin made her stomach twist with a mix of nerves and something hotter, deeper.

She swallowed hard, the sound unnaturally loud in the silent room.

Her hand hovered over the waistband for a long moment, heart hammering so fiercely she was sure it would wake him.

But Ross didn’t stir.

He lay on his back, one arm flung above his head, the other resting across his stomach, completely unaware.

Gathering every ounce of courage, Sabrina hooked her fingers under the elastic and began to pull.

She moved agonizingly slowly, terrified of any sudden shift in the mattress or change in his breathing.

The fabric resisted at first, clinging to his hips, then slid down with a soft whisper.

It took almost two full minutes—minutes that felt like hours—before the boxers cleared his thighs and she could gently tug them free of his legs entirely.

The cool air of the room brushed against his newly exposed skin, and Sabrina froze, eyes wide.

”Ahhh...” The breath left her in a shaky rush, half gasp, half whisper.

Even soft, Ross’s cock was... overwhelming.

Thick, heavy, resting against his thigh in a way that made her pulse race and her mouth go dry.

She had never seen one in real life before—not like this, not up close, not belonging to someone she actually cared about.

A man. A real man like Ross.
