Evil MC's NTR Harem

Chapter 166 Comeback is Real

The next day arrived, and Ross was surrounded by his girls, each as stunning as the last.

Since this was just a local game, there was no need for the team to take the bus.

Instead, Ross drove to the city basketball arena with his entourage, their arrival causing quite a stir.

The arena was packed, teeming with students from both Sunset Hills University and Pendle Norton University.

Parking was a challenge, but they managed to find a spot in the crowded lot.

The best part of the event?

Admission was free, which meant an even larger crowd had gathered to cheer for their respective teams.

Dennis and Daryl were there too, sharing a few playful jabs with Ross before the game started.

Their banter was lighthearted, the kind of camaraderie Ross had grown to appreciate.

But while the game hadn’t begun yet, it was clear that most of the attention wasn’t on the players warming up—it was on Ross’s girls.

The men in the crowd couldn’t keep their eyes off them, and the whispers started almost immediately.

”Damn, bro, look at those bitches!” one guy muttered, nudging his friend.

”I’d kill to have just one of them babes,” another said, his voice thick with envy.

”And he’s got seven?!”

”He added more to his list! Deym!”

”Every single one is drop-dead gorgeous.”

”Ross Oakley is one lucky bastard!”

The envious stares and murmurs only intensified as Ross’s harem stood confidently by his side, completely unfazed by the attention.

The boys in the crowd looked on with pure jealousy, their admiration for Ross’s skills on the court now mixed with a grudging respect—and outright envy—for his off-court success.

Beep!

The whistle blew, signaling the start of the game. The opposing team had the first possession, and the deafening roar of the crowd filled the arena.

The rivalry between Sunset Hills University and Pendle Norton University wasn’t just a game—it was war, fueled by generations of grudges and fierce competition.

”Kill them!”

”Don’t let them score!” Discover hidden tales at empire

”Wreck them, Ross!”

The energy in the stands was electric, but the intensity on the court was even greater.

Trash talk flowed as freely as the basketball.

”So, you’re the so-called ’wonder boy,’ huh? NBA at 18?” the Pendle Norton point guard sneered, dribbling lazily as he crossed half-court.

”Let me tell you something—you just got lucky. I’m going to prove that game was a fluke and show the world you’re nothing but a fraud.”

Ross smirked, his voice calm yet laced with mockery. ”Less talk, more action. Honestly, I don’t even consider you clowns worthy opponents. I belong on a much bigger stage. This place?” He gestured around the court dismissively. ”This is just a circus to me—and guess what? You and your boys are the main attraction.”

The point guard’s face twisted in anger. ”You arrogant bastard,” he spat, before charging forward. He attempted a flashy crossover, aiming to blow past Ross, but the plan went disastrously wrong.

Ross read the move perfectly, reaching out to tap the ball free. He hustled for the loose ball and snatched it away with ease. Without wasting a second, he sprinted toward the opposing side of the court.

Stopping just behind the three-point line, Ross could have gone for an easy layup, but that wasn’t his style.

Confidence coursing through him, he rose for a jumper instead.

Before the ball even reached the hoop, Ross turned away, certain of the result.

Whoosh!

The ball sliced cleanly through the net, not touching the rim. The crowd erupted in a deafening cheer, their reaction confirming what Ross already knew.

He glanced back at the point guard, his smile widening. Leaning in just enough for his opponent to hear, Ross spoke softly, his words dripping with confidence.

”Only three-pointers for me today. Get ready to witness the most unforgettable game of your life.”

The point guard’s jaw clenched as Ross jogged back to his side of the court, his presence commanding attention from everyone in the arena.

The tone for the game had been set—and it was clear who would dominate.

Beep!

Twenty minutes later, the whistle blew, signaling the end of the first half.

The scoreboard displayed a staggering 169 to 23. Even someone completely unfamiliar with basketball could tell the outcome was already set in stone.

No comeback could change this. It would take nothing short of a miracle to close such an insurmountable gap.

The fans and students of Pendle Norton sat in stunned silence, their earlier enthusiasm snuffed out.

Hope was a distant memory, replaced by resignation.

Not that it mattered to Ross, our OP evil MC, who was already scheming how to make the most of his 15-minute halftime break.

”I thought we were done considering Ross Oakley as our primary suspect, Detective Gwen,” Asher said, clearly puzzled.

”We are,” Gwen Monroe replied, her face serious. ”This is just a final follow-up interview. Who knows—he might slip up today. Call it a hunch.”

Of course, Gwen couldn’t reveal the real reason they were here: Ross had sent her a text, summoning her to the game and asking for an interview during halftime.

She’d watched his performance earlier and couldn’t help but be amazed. His shooting was flawless—he only took threes, and every single one had gone in.

But no amount of basketball prowess could erase the truth about him. As talented as he was on the court, Ross Oakley was also a manipulative, blackmailing man—a dangerous one at that.

”He’s waiting for you inside, detectives,” Coach Hawkins informed them, gesturing to the locker room.

”Thank you. We’ll make it quick,” Gwen said. She and Asher stepped toward the door, but Hawkins stopped them.

”Ross said he’ll only talk to the lady,” the coach added.

Gwen and Asher exchanged a glance, the unspoken question hanging in the air. Finally, Gwen nodded.

”It’s fine. Just wait outside,” she said, stepping through the door alone.

The room was quiet, the faint echo of the crowd still audible through the walls.

Gwen’s pulse quickened despite herself.

She tried to keep her thoughts professional, but her mind betrayed her, wandering to all the inappropriate possibilities of why Ross had insisted on seeing her alone.

No matter how much she resisted, her body betrayed her too, responding to the mere thought of him.

She hated that she couldn’t control it—that she couldn’t control herself.

In truth, she could only think of one thing on why Ross has summoned her to see him today.

”Sigh.” Gwen took a deep breath of acceptance.

Straightening her back and steeling her resolve, she pushed the thoughts aside and faced Ross, determined not to let him see even a flicker of weakness.
