Chapter 1386  The Monstrous Child [part 2]

Northern had watched Lord several times now as the youngling furiously engaged with his echoes, and he had to admit, the childʼs ability was truly a unique one. Actually as amazing as Northernʼs own self.

From being Black Mamba to his evolution at this very moment, Lord had always been emulating Northern in some way, and if Northern actually stopped to think about it, what else did he expect?

He did create Lord after all. He had used his own soul as the foundation, and while Lord had been indifferent and lacking ego at first, he grew. Continued to grow. That was simply because Northern had used a vicious and primal property as the base material for his creation.

Granted, Lord had also learned this unique skill from the innate memory of the Void itself.

It wasnʼt something Northern saw. It was something he felt. But having heard the history between the Origins and the Void, he now understood the possibility of how the Origins themselves were created.

Lord was evidence of that.

One could say Northern was Lordʼs father and the Void was his mother.

ʼThis is weird to think about... very weird. Iʼm only going to be seventeen today and I have a son already! Goodness, could I be jailed for this? Wait, can I?ʼ

Northern wasnʼt sure anymore. He couldnʼt even properly recall what worked on Earth and what didnʼt. In fact, it was a miracle he still remembered the place was called Earth at all.

Lord collided with Commander Zebelon in the distance. The battlefield shook chaotically. The child was dancing around the Commander, slamming into him from different angles while the Commander failed to keep up, falling prey to each childish attack like a clueless sparring dummy.

But no matter how many wounds Lord inflicted on the Commander, it made no difference. Even the ones Jeci had managed to inflict were long gone. The man was as good as new. It was as though he hadnʼt been single-handedly fighting a heinous battle at all, as if he had only just stepped onto the field.

One would think that Commander Zebelon should expend his reserve of essence soon. But Northern knew he most likely wouldnʼt.

Because of either his true name or his attribute, the Commander possessed the ability to convert Soul Essence into Dark Essence and use it to heal himself. It was truly outstanding, and majorly because Northern had heard about different layers of essence from Dante himself, with Soul Essence being the base of them all.

Soul Essence was most likely where all the others spawned from. And Northern was very curious to explore them.

Chaos Essence, Void Essence, Dark Essence... he wondered which one would be available to him next.

ʼI presume these are things going to the Underworld will feed me.ʼ

The Commander, despite healing himself and getting back up each time, was useless against Lord. He commandeered his dead soldiers and sent them lunging at the child, but it accomplished nothing. Lord was simply too fast.

If the Commander himself couldnʼt catch Lord, how would dead souls accomplish that otherworldly feat?

Lord could not be seen with naked eyes at all. It looked as though an invisible blade of wind was devastating the entire battlefield. Thralls were being slashed into a thousand pieces in a single movement, their bodies flung wide apart from each other by the force of the slash alone.

Some were pulverized into explosions of blood. Each burst was like a macabre work of art, and Commander Zebelon stood in the center of it all, watching with eyes blown wide as blood erupted through the air and rained down on everything. Including him.

The glorious day star completed its ascent as if granting approval to this scenery. There was an unsettling beauty painted across the battlefield as the morning rays of that gigantic circular star fell upon the carnage.

And by that time... everywhere was silent and still. With the nebulous Lord standing in the center, unstained.

There was not a single drop of blood on Lordʼs body.

Revant, where he had retreated to, tried to suppress his trembling shoulders.

He had never seen such a thing in his life. To him, Lord had been an inexperienced brat. The Abyss Tyrant was far more primal and dangerous than Lord had ever been, a mere vessel of mindless monstrosity.

But the child that stood here today was a far cry from that same monstrosity. This was someone who had grown intelligent, and lethal enough to rile the nerves of someone like even him.

Everyone else might not have been able to see Lordʼs movements. But Revant could.

Each fist, each kick was compounded by a thousand more. It meant that Lord kicked a thousand times to generate a single kick. There were occasions where the number was far lesser than that, especially when he fought the Nightblood Commander directly. But the cause of those blood explosions had been precisely this.

Revant had calmly counted the kicks each time and found this to be flawlessly true.

And it was impossible to replicate.

Even for monsters or any humans, except for beings like Bairan who had broken the chains of their physical capabilities, it was simply impossible to compress a thousand kicks into one. It required a level of speed that shouldnʼt exist. And even if such speed were achievable, the structure of the muscles made it impossible to execute without inflicting catastrophic damage on oneself.

The fact that Lord could do this meant one of two things. Either his muscles existed in a state that permitted anything, or they didnʼt exist in a fixed state at all, but rather something in between.

This would simply mean the nebulous Lord... was and could be anything.

Could achieve anything.

ʼHe will make a great test subject for bringing my medical institute to fame. If I can use him as a model for different kinds of research... if I harvest his organs, will they retain his unique properties too?ʼ

Revant was thinking.
