I Can Copy And Evolve Talents

Chapter 663: Subtle Preparations To Venture Into The Dungeon

This situation was not exactly as exciting as one would expect. In fact, over the past couple of days, Northern had gotten used to seeing several talents like that pop up.

Northern, with an interesting look on his face, decided to study deeper. Upon looking in the direction of the boy that stood opposite him—a part of his bone tearing out of his skin and extending to grab a book—more information appeared before his eyes.

Northern thought for a while and decided against copying it.

Over the past few days, Northern had encountered several talents; some he had copied, some he did not copy, just like this one. The reason being...

...as much as he wanted to copy as many talents as he could own, he didn’t want to set out copying talents that would serve him no use in the future.

Moreover, Northern wanted to leverage evolution of talents more than just copying talents.

After the Dark Continent, he had completely lost focus on evolving talents, which was bad, considering that the system did not just allow him to copy talents but also evolve them.

Had he ever been curious enough to try, how powerful would an ability he owned be if he evolved it to EX class?

This revolutionized his thought pattern recently as regards copying talents. However, the downside of this was that talent evolution, especially for classes higher than S, was very expensive.

Northern suspected that an EX class evolution would most likely cost him about ten thousand talent fragments.

Now, this was unaccounting for the soul rank of the talent’s original owner.

For A, B, S class, the additional talent fragments on evolution was still affordable, but he was sure that higher classes would break his neck.

So, his proper plan was to first get more fragments and copy as many useful talents as he could within the duration of six months.

After six months, he was going to focus on evolution of talents, managing to stall himself from toppling over to the next soul rank by all means necessary.

The only problem was insufficiency of rifts.

’Damn, I hate to say I miss the Dark Continent for this at least...’

Northern was slowly beginning to understand the reason why Drifters in the Central Plains were relatively weak.

However, a solution to his problem existed. In fact, that was the next phase of his plan he was getting into.

Exploring the dungeons below the academy. Now that he had studied a little of the academy’s early days and the world in general, he was equipped with a satisfying level of knowledge of the world he was living in.

What he wanted to do next was focus on harvesting talents. It just so happened that a dude from over three hundred years ago had created an avenue for that to happen.

Although Northern did not yet know the states of the rifts in those dungeons, the one thing he was sure about was that the place was teeming with monsters, according to Black Mamba’s report.

But he wasn’t going to be venturing into it alone, neither was he going to be staying there for long.

His plan was to enter it with Jeci, Lynus, and his two subordinates, give the drifters some chances to grow, while he also investigated how deeply the dungeon went and how powerful the monsters there were.

Then he would leave his clone in the monsters, along with Bairan, Revant, Mr. Fluffy, and Black Mamba, since the void summons grew by absorbing souls and Mr. Fluffy needed cores to further his growth.

The beast was now a devil level monster and had gained a transformation form. Northern wanted him to become an Apex monster; he had a very subtle but precise foresight of what Mr. Fluffy could turn out to be.

He had, after all, seen a certain future of the beast.

Every one of his summons presently, he had a plan for and was going to take it one after the other.

The only thing he needed the dungeon for himself was talent fragments farming. Northern preferred to fight real calamity rifts than improvised ones.

Besides, he would be too busy with the Starchasers and the coming Milhwa Festival anyway; it was high time he started to gain passive income.

Moreover, he was keen on the ten plagues these days. He had also tried to search the library for information on rifts, particularly those kinds of rifts, but found nothing. Absolutely nothing.

It made him even more sure that not all the records of knowledge were being kept in the library. Although he was still going to check upper floors, he had every reason to suspect that the library had an underground floor.

Northern casually walked out of the library, three days after walking in. He squared his shoulders and took every step with screaming confidence.

People, however, still stared at him with disgust on their faces; in fact, right now, it seemed intensified more than before.

The office had a nice bathroom, so he didn’t also have to worry about how he smelled.

All those minute things like his neatly groomed—even though slightly tousled—hair, smooth and flawless pale face, and his dark but lovely eyes, all came together to plunge his confidence level to the heavens.

Of course, his level of strength and confidence that this school was beneath him also reflected in every stride he took.

Perhaps he was too proud and someone would wreck the height of his pride and shatter it, who knew? But who would dare?

Northern suddenly, in the middle of the walkway, paused, a small frown creasing his forehead.

He lowered his head, slightly trembling.

’What is this? How can it be?’

His eyes widened, trembling. A moment later, a small grin crept onto his face, with a menacing glow in his eyes.
