Chapter 732: Baby Plan? Senior Citizen Basketball Team

For the Knicks, 5 players scored in double digits, and the role players also woke up in the 2nd half.

Barea scored 16 points and 5 assists.

Battier had 14 points.

DeAndre Jordan had 14 points and 14 rebounds.

David West had 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Yi Jianlian, another Knicks player receiving heavy attention from Chinese fans, scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.

The Warriors also had 5 players score in double digits.

Monta Ellis scored a team high 33 points, while David Lee also put up impressive numbers with 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Rookie Klay Thompson contributed 11 points, including 3 of 5 from 3 point range.

At the post game press conference, Chen Yan appeared very calm.

Facing the reporters praise, he said plainly, ”We just won an ordinary regular season game. Of course, winning is something to be happy about, but we cannot get carried away. There are still many games waiting for us.”

A reporter followed up, ”Are you satisfied with your performance?”

”No,” Chen Yan replied with a smile. ”I am never satisfied with my performance, no matter how I play. That way, I have motivation for the next game. If I ever say I am satisfied with my performance, it means I am not far from retirement.”

Klay Thompson also accepted an interview after the game.

After the game ended, Klay had been trying to hide and sneak away, but he was still caught by reporters.

After all, more than half of Chen Yan’s points tonight had been scored against him.

As a rookie, he must have been deeply traumatized.

”Klay, how did it feel guarding Chen Yan tonight? He is the MVP, the scoring champion, and 1 of the most difficult players to defend in the NBA.”

Klay knew the reporter was definitely there to twist the knife.

He only regretted not slipping away earlier.

After composing himself, Klay said, ”It was very, very, very difficult. He is unpredictable and elusive. He taught me a good lesson tonight, a very memorable lesson.”

Klay felt very relieved that the reporter did not keep pressing.

If the questions continued, he might have cried.

After all, a rookie who had just entered the NBA had immediately been beaten down by a king.

Thompson felt that his rookie protection period was not even over yet.

The next day, every sports headline was praising Chen Yan.

Chen Yan was already used to this.

He often won games and put up shocking numbers.

ESPN expert Bob said, ”Chen Yan is the only player who can remind me of 2 legends in 1 game. His unstoppable scoring in the 1st half reminded me of Jordan, and his selfless passing in the 2nd half reminded me of Magic Johnson.”

Magic Johnson said, ”From a purely technical standpoint, he is already flawless. He can score, he can pass, and he can even rebound. His leadership is also top notch. There is only 1 thing left for him to do now, stay healthy and accumulate honors.”

Reggie Miller said, ”This guy hit 9 3 pointers again in this game. If 1 day someone suddenly tells me that my 3 point record has been broken, I will not be surprised. I could guess with my butt that this kid was the one who did it.”

Now, no fans said Chen Yan was a flash in the pan.

Chen Yan’s performance on the court was impeccable, so haters could only look for angles to criticize him from his personal life.

Some haters said that Chen Yan’s songs were terrible, practically written for elementary school students.

Such comments gave Chen Yan inspiration.

Perhaps he could copy The Lonely Brave.

Previously, Chen Yan had written English songs for the international market, but occasionally, he should also write a Chinese song to give back to domestic fans.

Other haters said Chen Yan’s acting was terrible, and that his performance in Iron Man was nothing more than an eyesore.

Chen Yan did not care about this at all.

First of all, although his acting was not great, it was definitely not terrible.

After Iron Man, he received many more invitations, but he turned them all down because of scheduling conflicts.

Second, Chen Yan was indeed only dabbling.

He was handsome, had a good physique, and was extremely famous.

If he also had invincible acting skills, would those male actors still have anything to eat?

Recently, haters found a new angle.

They started criticizing Chen Yan for having no scandals as a superstar, saying it did not match the image of an NBA star.

They even suspected that something was wrong with him, and that after dating Taylor Swift for 4 or 5 years, there was still no sign of the 2 taking the next step.

Haters always had peculiar thought processes.

What they did not know was that Chen Yan and Taylor Swift had already begun putting this matter on the agenda.

Taylor Swift originally did not plan to get married and have children so early, because she was still in the rising phase of her career.

However, after spending the past few years with Chen Yan, she found herself falling deeper and deeper in love.

Since the beginning of this year, Taylor Swift had begun thinking about having a child with Chen Yan.

In America, it was common to have children first and get married later.

Chen Yan was more traditional in this regard.

After all, deep down, he was still a pure Chinese man at heart.

He wanted to have children after marriage.

Even if he could accept having children first, his parents would not.

After the game, Chen Yan returned home.

Tonight, the room felt a little different from usual.

The lighting was soft and intimate, and Taylor Swift was slow to appear, as if playing a game of cat and mouse with Chen Yan.

This immediately energized Chen Yan.

How exciting.

Chen Yan found Taylor Swift in the private cinema.

An intense movie was playing on the big screen, and Taylor Swift had clearly prepared a surprise for him.

She wore a full Batman costume, with a mask covering part of her face, giving her a half hidden, half revealed charm.

Chen Yan immediately understood the mood.

The 2 spent a passionate night together in the cinema.

At first, Taylor Swift could still keep up, but as the night deepened, Chen Yan’s overwhelming energy gradually took over.

The next day, while Taylor Swift was still asleep, Chen Yan had already woken up.

The schedule for this condensed season was very packed.

Their next game was in Los Angeles, against the Lakers.

Although the Lakers roster had not changed much, compared with previous years, they had already shown clear signs of aging.

They narrowly lost their 1st game of the season by 3 points to the young Chicago Bulls.

Kobe was furious in the locker room because of it.

Kobe really wanted to win the 1st game, because he believed it would bring good luck for the entire season.

Before the game began, Kobe and Chen Yan greeted each other.

Although in the eyes of the outside world, Chen Yan had successfully taken over from Kobe as the league’s top shooting guard, Kobe’s personality meant he would never admit defeat.

Whenever he faced Chen Yan, it was a battle.

Chen Yan also understood Kobe’s temper.

Tonight, from the very 1st possession, he would go all out.

First, it was out of respect for his elder brother.

Second, Los Angeles was his least favorite place.

Every time Chen Yan played at the Lakers home court, he could hear those familiar shouts.

”Fuck Chen!”

Tonight, David West returned to the starting lineup.

Nelson hoped to add another interior ball handler to share Chen Yan’s offensive pressure.

The rest of the lineup remained unchanged.

The Lakers starting 5 were Fisher, Kobe, Matt Barnes, Garnett, and Camby.

This was probably the oldest starting lineup in the league.

Kobe was 34.

Garnett was 36.

Fisher was 38.

Camby was 38.

Even the youngest, Barnes, was already 32.

If not for Kobe’s reputation, ESPN would never have placed such a team among the championship contenders.
