Chapter 203: Post-Game Celebration with Taylor Swift, All-Star Special Edition on Sale!

Late that night, Chen Yan and Taylor returned to their hotel.

The All-Star festivities had ended, but their private celebration was just beginning.

”Baby, want to touch my trophy?” Chen Yan teased with a mischievous grin.

Taylor raised an eyebrow and smiled. ”Of course.”

”Then you’ll have to come to bed,” Chen said, pulling the sheets aside.

”Wait, why do I need to get in bed just to touch the trophy?” Taylor asked curiously.

”I heard the MVP trophy glows in the dark,” he replied with a smirk.

Taylor rolled her eyes. ”You’re impossible...”

Hours later, after their ”battle,” Chen Yan leaned back against the headboard, calm and thoughtful. To Taylor, he looked half-asleep, but in reality, his mind had already entered system mode. It was time to allocate his new honor points.

His February performance had been solid, and with the All-Star MVP added to his resume, he had earned 66 honor points. Combined with 30 saved from before, that gave him 96 total.

As usual, Chen kept a few points in reserve as insurance for injuries. The rest would go into fine-tuning his attributes. His stats were strong across the board, but not yet elite in every category—something that would hold back his next evolution.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to use 40 points to boost his three-point attribute by two levels, bringing it to 92.

Crossing 90 in any attribute was a breakthrough, and the improvement was immediately noticeable.

Next, he spent 10 points to raise his layup from 87 to 88. Finishing was already one of his strong suits, but every point counted when facing elite defenders.

Then he poured 10 points into strength, raising it from 81 to 83. Basketball was a game of physical duels—adding muscle meant creating more separation on drives and lowering the risk of injury.

His new post-up skills, learned from Kobe, also relied on power. Technique without strength was just empty flair.

Finally, he spent 4 more points to improve his rebounding to 80.

Once the upgrades were complete, Chen opened his personal stats dashboard:

In addition to the raw stats, Chen’s skill set was looking terrifying. His combination of speed, shooting, and finesse made him one of the most complete offensive players in the league. But he couldn’t rely on every move at once—each special skill consumed energy, and overusing them would only exhaust him faster. Efficiency and timing were everything.

”Baby, what are you thinking about?” Taylor asked, wrapping her arms around him from behind.

Chen smiled faintly and tilted his head back toward her. ”Just thinking about how lucky I am.”

They both laughed softly before lying back down, staring at the soft glow of the MVP trophy on the bedside table.

For once, Chen allowed himself to relax completely.

The next morning...

The world had gone crazy.

Headlines flooded every sports outlet across the globe:

”The First Chinese Player to Win All-Star MVP!”

”A Star Among Stars—Chen Yan Outshines the League’s Brightest!”

”The Youngest All-Star MVP in History—A Walking Record-Breaker!”

”A Miracle Buzzer-Beater—Even the Basketball Gods Were on His Side!”

”The Definition of a Winner: Success on the Court, and in Love!”

”LeBron James Extends His Hands... and Hands Over the MVP!”

Everywhere he looked, Chen saw his name—and his face—plastered across the sports world.

Back home, fans were ecstatic. Social media exploded with pride and excitement. Chen had become a symbol of inspiration, a rare blend of skill, charisma, and entertainment value.

Of course, not everyone shared the enthusiasm.

As his fame soared, so did the criticism. Some accused the media of exaggerating, claiming the All-Star Game was nothing more than a glorified exhibition. Others argued that the MVP wasn’t a ”real” award compared to regular season honors.

LeBron’s fans, still bitter from the loss, flooded comment sections accusing Chen of stealing their idol’s spotlight.

It wasn’t the first time fans had turned the All-Star MVP into a point of debate. Many older fans even compared it to 2006, when LeBron edged out Tracy McGrady for the award—an outcome that sparked years of friendly argument.

Still, most fans agreed: regardless of the setting, a game-winning buzzer-beater under pressure was pure skill, not luck.

Meanwhile, Chen’s market value skyrocketed overnight.

His agent, Bill Duffy, was swamped with calls from sponsors, barely remembering that he still represented Greg Oden and Mike Conley. Every major brand wanted a piece of Chen Yan.

The biggest winner, however, was Li Ning.

Riding the wave of publicity, they launched a limited-edition release of Chen’s All-Star signature sneakers—the AeroWing 1 All-Star Special Edition.

Only 888 pairs were made.

Each pair featured a sleek red-and-gold gradient with metallic accents inspired by the All-Star trophy. The retail price was set at 1,999 yuan, but even that couldn’t slow demand. The entire run sold out in less than ten minutes.

Within hours, resellers on eBay were listing the AeroWing 1 All-Star Edition for $900 a pair, and they still couldn’t keep up with the buyers.
