Chapter 17: A Sudden Idea During the Experiment

Yang attribute chakra really did have effects similar to what Kenichi Amamiya wanted. After all, the Mystical Palm Healing Technique itself used Yang attribute chakra.

Of course, if too much Yang attribute chakra was poured into someone, it could completely disrupt the chakra flow in their body and directly put them into a coma.

He had already nearly killed that illegitimate son of the Hyuga clan several times because of this.

”What are you planning to research this time?” Orochimaru asked, looking at his disciple with curiosity. He already knew that Kenichi always came up with strange, unconventional ideas.

”Teacher, I just want to follow up on that previous case,” Kenichi replied with an innocent smile.

What bad intentions could he possibly have?

He just wanted his enemies to develop lung cancer.

Orochimaru was stunned for a moment. Of course he knew which case Kenichi was referring to. He could not help glancing at his disciple again, feeling that this child’s mind was far more ruthless than his harmless smile suggested.

Not leaving him behind in this decaying Konoha really had been the right choice.

Meanwhile, Kenichi was already planning his future path in his heart. Since he was going to defect with Orochimaru, then his laboratory did not need to be in Konoha at all.

In fact, why should he build it himself?

Orochimaru had money and resources. Would it really be that hard to ask him to set up a dedicated lab just for Kenichi?

After receiving a batch of supplies from his teacher, Kenichi carried everything back into the laboratory and continued his research.

”The cigarettes I bought last time are almost out. I will need to stock up again next time,” he muttered, stroking his chin as he casually poured chakra into the body of the test subject in front of him.

This time, he did not bother being careful.

Aside from a missing hand, the man was otherwise in decent condition. There was no need to worry too much about accidentally killing him.

With that thought, Kenichi’s actions became even more daring.

”What exactly are you doing?”

When Orochimaru walked in and saw the scene, he felt like he was looking at a complete madman. His expression turned strange, and for a moment, he did not even know how to react.

”I am doing an experiment,” Kenichi replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

If he was not experimenting, was he supposed to be slacking off?

Orochimaru pinched the bridge of his nose.

”So why did you cut open his chest?” he asked, his tone complicated.

The test subject was still alive. Orochimaru could see the man’s faint breathing, as if he was clinging to life while desperately wishing for death.

”Of course it is for more precise observation,” Kenichi said calmly.

If he could not see clearly through the skin, then he would simply open the chest and observe directly.

And he had to admit that this method was indeed effective. At the very least, at this moment, Kenichi was able to precisely observe and guide how nicotine was affecting the man’s lungs.

If the test subject had been a heavy smoker, Kenichi thought, he might not even have needed to go this far.

”...Fine,” Orochimaru said at last, somewhat helpless.

He turned and walked out of the lab.

Kenichi watched his teacher’s back with a slightly puzzled look, then turned back to his experiment with full concentration. In his view, he was already very close to success.

Another consumable had been used up, but it was worth it. Now, even without cutting the skin, he could directly guide nicotine into the lungs with accuracy.

The problem now was how to make Yang attribute chakra act on specific cells. Every time he used it, the target’s lungs became abnormally active.

[No. Once the test subject became too agitated, his heartbeat started to show abnormalities. Could this be respiratory alkalosis?]

Kenichi put down his pen and stared at the man on the operating table with great interest.

The man’s heart was racing wildly. His lips trembled uncontrollably, and his face had turned deathly pale. In an instant, Kenichi judged that this was likely a respiratory syndrome brought on by hyperventilation.

This issue, strictly speaking, was also Kenichi’s own problem.

He now possessed the physique of Hashirama Senju, and his Yang Release chakra was excessively abundant. Without systematic medical training, he simply could not fine tune the amount of Yang chakra he condensed and injected.

”This is an unexpected harvest, but respiratory alkalosis shouldn’t be a real threat to ninjas,” Kenichi noted in his log.

”Wait. If Yang attribute chakra can stimulate internal organs, then what if I use it on the heart?”

He narrowed his eyes and made a decision. Since he still had plenty of consumables, there was no need to worry about wasting one or two.

He immediately started a new round of experiments.

As expected, the test subject died.

Outside the lab, the silent cleaning staff skillfully dragged the corpse away and buried it. Their faces were completely numb.

In just one afternoon, eight bodies had been carried out of this laboratory.

Every time they caught sight of the young man working seriously inside, their legs trembled uncontrollably.

This guy seemed even more terrifying than Orochimaru.

At this moment, Kenichi was completely unaware of the psychological trauma he had caused to others. He was deep in his own thoughts.

Excessive injection of Yang attribute chakra had indeed produced exactly the result he had hypothesized.

The heart became abnormally active, then slipped into tachycardia, and finally stopped entirely in sudden cardiac death.

”It works beautifully,” Kenichi concluded.

”But it is not very practical. Ninjas are not idiots.”

He shook his head.

In his previous world, this might have counted as a perfect silent killing technique. But here, in the ninja world, the conditions were far too harsh.

Unless the target was a commoner with no aptitude for becoming a ninja at all.

But if the target were truly just an ordinary person, he would not need such a complicated method. A single shuriken would be enough.

No ninja would stand there and let their opponent calmly pour a large quantity of chakra directly into their heart.

Overall, this technique still needed refinement.

Unless he could find some way to rapidly flood a ninja’s body with a large amount of chakra in an instant.

For that, he would need ninja test subjects.

”For the sake of the advancement of science and ninjutsu, please dedicate yourselves,” Kenichi murmured as he went to find his teacher.

Orochimaru had only provided him with ordinary people so far, not ninjas. Perhaps his teacher felt that was all Kenichi needed.

But he really needed more.

”...Weren’t those ordinary people enough?” Orochimaru asked, completely stunned.

How could this disciple consume experimental materials even faster than he did? That was outrageous.

”Not really, teacher. You know ordinary people are still different from ninjas,” Kenichi answered tactfully.

More precisely, the difference was chakra.

Chakra was the most unique power in this world, the very thing that separated ninjas from ordinary humans.

”I happen to have a genin here. Use him sparingly,” Orochimaru said at last, rubbing his brow before agreeing.

He was also very curious about those strange proliferating cells.

They were far too similar to the First Hokage’s cells.
