Chapter 281: Chapter 184: Scorpion Transformation (Part 2)

Ron was surprised to find that the puppet began to display an unusually active state, seemingly attracted by those organizations.

Through the ”Extraordinary Recognition” detailed energy scan, Ron discovered that the stand-in puppet had a near ”craving” reaction to the Scorpion Organization, as if it recognized some sort of energy fluctuation from a common source.

”The stand-in puppet comes from the Abyss Fourth Layer, while the Scorpion is from the 3rd Floor...”

Ron recalled the descriptions in the ”Abyssal Creatures Atlas,” and had a bold conjecture:

There might exist a certain degree of mutual affinity between items and creatures in the Abyss that could lead to energy resonance or fusion under specific conditions.

With this hypothesis, Ron started a series of strictly controlled experiments.

He first had the stand-in puppet come into contact with a minimal amount of Scorpion Organization, observing the reaction;

then gradually increased the amount of contact, closely monitoring the puppet’s energy fluctuations and morphological changes.

Today, he planned to conduct a bolder experiment — let the stand-in puppet absorb some of the main organization of the Scorpion.

Ron took out two preservation boxes from the cold storage, opening them to reveal dark green tissue and a large heart still emitting astonishing vitality.

These were the poison gland tissue from the scorpion tail and the second heart, maintained for activity through special treatment.

”If the experiment succeeds, the stand-in puppet should be able to gain some of the Scorpion’s abilities.”

Ron activated the surrounding protective array, ensuring that even if the experiment had unexpected outcomes, no dangers would leak out.

Once everything was ready, he took a deep breath and gently placed the poison gland tissue and heart on the puppet’s chest.

In just a few seconds, odd changes occurred — the tissue began to melt into a dark red liquid, quickly seeping into the puppet’s body.

At the same time, the lines on the puppet’s surface started to undergo subtle changes, with some lines becoming sharper and distorted, emitting a faint purple glow.

”The reaction is stronger than anticipated...”

Ron closely observed the process, documenting every detail.

After absorption was complete, the surface of the puppet returned to calm, but the overall aura had a noticeable change:

A dangerous and aggressive energy surged within it, like a dormant beast.

[Active Abyssal Material has been automatically absorbed, charging progress +1%]

[Current Energy: 1%/100%]

”This... turns out the puppet actually is able to recharge after absorbing active Abyssal Material, this was quite a lucky hit.”

He felt a slight joy in his heart, if relying solely on Krypton Magic Stone for recharging, his small coffer wouldn’t be able to handle it, after all, one Magic Stone is only 1% charging progress.

But now, let’s first try the enhancement effect from the puppet’s absorption of Abyssal Material.

Ron invested a small portion of awareness into the puppet, attempting to activate it.

The puppet immediately responded, slowly standing up with movements more fluid and natural than before.

But the real surprise was yet to come — when Ron attempted to mobilize the toxin gland energy just absorbed...

The puppet suddenly mutated, a sharp tail barb grew out from its back, the tip glinting with a purple toxic glow.

”Incredible...” Ron murmured in awe, controlling the puppet to swing the tail barb, drawing a purple trajectory in the air.

Then, he tried further morph control and was astonished to find the puppet’s entire structure had become exceedingly malleable.

Not only the tail barb, but the limbs could grow stronger and more vigorous, even the face could partially mutate to display beastly features.

”It’s just like...” Ron’s eyes lit up: ”A kind of organism fusion!”

He suddenly recalled the description of ”Morph Resin” in the ”Abyssal Creatures Atlas.”

This special material from the Abyss Fourth Layer could blur the boundaries of life forms, granting objects the traits or abilities of other organisms.

The stand-in puppet evidently contains this material or similar components.

And when Ron reduced his awareness investment, leaving only basic control, the puppet surprisingly exhibited a nearly instinctive combat intuition.

It autonomously adjusted its posture, launching a series of defense and attack maneuvers, as if inheriting some of the instincts of the Scorpion.

”It’s just like having a semi-autonomous combat partner.”

Ron was thrilled, watching the puppet move flexibly under his minimal control.

These discoveries immediately led him to consider more possibilities: if the stand-in puppet could assimilate Scorpion Organization, then in theory, could it also assimilate other Abyssal creature organizations?

What kind of ability changes would different kinds of Abyssal creature organizations bring?

What effects would arise from the simultaneous fusion of multiple organizations?

Ron’s ”Conception” trait was running at full capacity at this moment, a grand blueprint gradually forming in his mind:

A super-powered puppet that combines multiple Abyssal organism traits, equipped with various environment adaptation abilities, multiple attack methods, and possibly a certain level of autonomous awareness and judgment ability...

And when the stand-in puppet’s energy reaches 50%, unlocking dual-channel function and further advancing it to become a [Demon Hunter] with profession leveling up, these abilities will leap further!

While all capabilities simultaneously feed back to his body, letting him reap the full benefits without any risks.

.........

Deep within the earth veins, a beehive-like cave was surrounded by dense black mist.

A layer of squirming mutated tissue covered the cave walls, dark purple liquid flowing on the surface, emitting a suffocating stench.

At the deepest part of the cave, a semi-solid, semi-liquid grotesque mass slowly writhed.
