Chapter 170: Chapter 135: Mind Blast (Part 2)

Soron seemed satisfied with his humble attitude and gently patted his shoulder:

”Continue to maintain this spirit of exploration. Advanced courses are not just about learning existing knowledge; more importantly, they are about innovation and breakthroughs.”

After Soron left, Ron keenly noticed some eyes cast towards him.

The students who hadn’t particularly noticed him before were now sizing him up with a reassessing gaze.

At the end of the initial class, Soron gave a brief summary to the whole class, emphasizing the key points for the next few weeks of the course:

Multi-model construction, energy efficiency optimization, and most importantly—the preliminary theory of the Spiritual Shock.

”The Spiritual Shock is one of the hallmark abilities of an Official Wizard.”

Soron’s voice was low and magnetic:

”Although you cannot yet cast a complete Spiritual Shock, you are all seed candidates for Wizards, and learning its theoretical foundation and simplified version in advance is important for enhancing spiritual control.”

After class, Ron deliberately slowed his packing speed, waiting until the other students bowed to the Master and left the classroom before approaching Soron.

He noticed that Soron seemed to intentionally stay there, and from his posture, it didn’t seem like he was waiting for the next class.

”Master Griffith...” Ron steadied his nerves and quietly asked:

”I noticed that the Spiritual Shock you mentioned, is it somehow related to the Spiritual Interference Wave that I currently master?”

The pressure unique to an Official Wizard, despite being restrained, still made him somewhat uncomfortable.

Sitting on the edge of the podium, Soron, deep in thought, looked up at Ron in slight surprise:

”You’ve mastered the high-precision beam-type use of spiritual interference? This is something even Intermediate Apprentices find challenging, and its short-term practicality is far less than practicing direct attack magic.”

”I find it very useful in certain situations.” Ron answered cautiously, ”Especially against opponents who rely on thought and perception.”

Soron’s eyes flashed with a hint of approval:

”Your thinking is very correct. Spiritual interference is indeed a simplified version of the Spiritual Shock, or rather its foundational form. The essence of an Official Wizard’s Spiritual Shock is to amplify the effect of spiritual interference a hundredfold and add a direct physical impact.”

After a brief thought, he added, ”Since you already have this foundation, perhaps I can give you some extra guidance to help strengthen the effect of your spiritual interference.”

Ron immediately expressed his gratitude, ”That would be an immense honor, Master.”

”Good.” Soron nodded, ”Stay after the next class, and I will give you some special exercises. Now, go to your next lesson.”

As Ron left the classroom, he felt an inexplicable sense of relief.

Though Soron’s status and power kept him instinctively alert, today’s interaction went unexpectedly smoothly.

”He seems to be very interested in me.” Ron pondered, ”But I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.”

..........

In the afternoon, there was the weekly Alchemy test, and Master Thompson gave high praise for Ron’s performance.

Since he showcased his superb energy conservation ability last time, Ron has gained a certain reputation in the class.

”Apprentice Ron’s alchemy perception is extraordinary.” Thompson announced in front of the class:

”His latest work—an improved version of the energy conversion array, is nearly 20% more efficient than the standard version. This kind of innovative thinking is what we encourage.”

After the weekly test, Thompson kept Ron behind.

”Starting next week, you can directly participate in the advanced alchemy courses.”

He said satisfactorily, ”You have mastered the basic knowledge well enough, there is no need to waste time in the beginner courses.”

”Thank you for the recognition, elder.” Ron replied sincerely, ”I will continue to work hard.”

The same situation happened in the Elemental Affinity Class.

After observing Ron’s excellent control over the Light and Fire Elements, Laila also approved his early entry into the advanced class.

”I must say, your talent in elemental affinity is quite outstanding.”

Laila evaluated, ”Especially your perception and guidance of the Light Element, which has reached the level of an Advanced Apprentice.

Thus, within just two weeks, Ron had gained qualifications for three advanced courses simultaneously, an extremely rare achievement within the School.

”Everything is going according to plan.” One night, Ron muttered to himself in the private laboratory of the workshop:

”As long as I maintain this momentum, the road ahead will become increasingly broad.”

He took out the ranking table of the Candidate Wizard sequence, noting his position had risen from the initial thirtieth to twenty-fourth, and now further up to nineteenth.

This speed of improvement far exceeded expectations and confirmed that his efforts were being recognized.

..........

Another half a month passed.

Ron busily shuttled between the workshop and classroom every day, living a hectic yet fulfilling life.

In the workshop, his bloodline modulation experiments made significant progress.

The Autophagic Slime Monster exhibited various peculiar changes under his hands, from early simple color transformations to now being able to briefly maintain complex shape shifts.

The study of Extraordinary Biology was also not neglected; through extensive reading and practice, he had acquired quite in-depth knowledge.

The growth of Little Sea Siren Dale was even more astonishing.

With Ailan’s meticulous care, she had grown to seventy or eighty centimeters, nearly the size of a three-year-old human child.

Meanwhile, her language ability had made a leap forward.

”Master, look at me!” Dale joyfully turned somersaults in the crystal vat, her voice clear and melodious: ”I’ve learned to swim upside down!”

Ailan watched with satisfaction, having formed an almost mother-daughter-like bond with Dale.

The dryad’s vines often gently stroked the Little Sea Siren’s hair, as a sign of encouragement and praise.

”Dale progresses so fast.” Ailan’s leaves wrote:

”She has already started attempting to control water flow, though still very weak, but has demonstrated the unique talent of a Sea Siren.”

Ron nodded in agreement, ”Yes, her potential far exceeds my expectations. In another two months, I think she can start accepting memory editing.”

Meanwhile, Ron also began to stand out in the School’s courses.

Soron’s advanced spiritual control course was far deeper and more challenging than the basic courses, but this only stimulated Ron’s potential.

His learning speed was astonishing, especially in enhancing spiritual interference; his progress was rapid.

During the special guidance time after class, Soron personally explained the basic theory of Spiritual Shock to Ron.

”The core of Spiritual Shock lies in energy compression and explosion.”

Soron patiently explained:

”Ordinary spiritual interference only slightly disrupts the opponent’s thoughts, while Spiritual Shock instantly releases highly compressed spiritual power, forming a compound attack that affects both spirit and causes severe impact.”

He demonstrated a simplified version, with an invisible energy wave spreading from his fingertips, shattering a crystal glass five meters away.

”It seems simple, but it actually requires extremely high precision in spiritual power control. The tighter the energy is compressed, the greater the explosion’s power, but it also puts a heavier burden on the caster’s spirit.”

Ron studied intently, trying to imitate Soron’s method.

At first, he could only generate faint energy fluctuations, barely able to blow a piece of paper.

But with deepened practice, his control became increasingly precise, and the intensity of the energy waves steadily increased.

”An astonishing speed of progress.” Soron praised, ”Your talent in spiritual power control is quite rare.”

He drew closer to Ron, lowering his voice:

”I’ve noticed that your recent accumulation of spiritual contamination is very light, almost negligible. Does this relate to your ’Medicinal Body Resonance’ talent?”

Ron feigned a thoughtful look:

”It might be, Master. I have indeed found that after taking certain magic potions, my spiritual state becomes particularly clear and stable. This might be a manifestation of ’Medicinal Body Resonance’.”

Soron’s gaze revealed an elusive expression:

”This is a rare second-tier talent, with very few records; perhaps it indeed has the effect of effectively resisting spiritual contamination.”

He paused for a moment, then added:

”However, even with this talent, don’t rely on it too much. The accumulation of spiritual contamination is a complex process. Sometimes seemingly insignificant changes can eventually lead to serious consequences.”

Ron respectfully nodded, ”I will heed the Master’s warning.”

As he left the classroom, Ron recalled Soron’s words, feeling somewhat puzzled in his heart.
