Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 371: New Feature Unlock! ( 2 )

The moment the system heard Yao Zhi’s words, it replied mechanically, ”Host, that agreement has nothing to do with the System or the Heavenly Dao.”

”What do you mean by that?” Yao Zhi asked in surprise.

”The 10% of your merit points didn’t go to the Heavenly Dao,” the System replied flatly.

Hearing this, Yao Zhi was taken aback. ”Wait, if the merit points didn’t go to the Heavenly Dao, then where did they go?”

”Host, the merit points were taken by this world’s consciousness.”

”World consciousness?” Yao Zhi felt that her brain cells were lagging, and it took her a while to process the information. ”You mean the golden tree I saw in my dream is not the Heavenly Dao?”

After a moment of silence, the System asked, ”Host, do you think the Heavenly Dao is so free that you can see it so easily?”

Even though the mechanical voice was flat and showed no emotion, Yao Zhi could swear that she heard disdain in it.

Taking a deep breath, she tried to calm down and asked, ”So, I can’t get any discount?”

Before she even finished her words, the System replied flatly, ”No.”

Yao Zhi looked at her status panel and saw the numbers written there:

System points: 61,693,620 points

Merit points: 2,507,300 points

Before, she thought that her merit points were less than 40,000 points. But when she checked just now, she was shocked to see that she had actually accumulated more than 2.5 million merit points.

When she asked why she suddenly had so many merit points, the System only told her that it had experienced a small bug before, so the merit points she obtained from the reward box were not added yet.

The number shown now was the right number after adding the reward.

Feeling rich, she asked the System if there was a feature that allowed her to produce gunpowder and create ancient-version bombs automatically.

At first, she was just trying her luck. Unexpectedly, the System indeed had this feature: Factory.

She was delighted, but the price to unlock this feature was too expensive. The System actually asked for 2.5 million merit points!

When she complained about the sky-high price, it said that gunpowder and explosives shouldn’t appear in this era yet. Since she brought this technology several thousand years earlier, she had to compensate for going against natural law.

Yao Zhi was torn. She didn’t want to spend so many points to unlock this feature, but she wouldn’t be able to produce enough explosives on her own.

She didn’t dare to let others know about the recipe in case it was used by bad people to harm others. She also didn’t have a secret place to build a workshop to make these explosives.

But even if she had the place and the people, she still didn’t dare to do it. If the imperial court learned about this, she, her husband, and her people would lose their heads.

The time was limited, and she had to consider the time needed to transport the items to the army. So, she didn’t have much time left to produce the explosives. In the end, the System’s feature was the only way.

After she considered the pros and cons, she finally said through gritted teeth, ”Okay, I will pay!”

The moment she said this, she heard a notification sound, followed by the sound of her merit points being deducted. In less than a second, she was left with only 7,300 merit points.

As she clutched her chest in heartache, she heard the System’s announcement: ”Congratulations, Host! You have unlocked a new feature: Factory!”

The System even added the sound effect of fireworks for a full minute before continuing.

”To use this feature, the Host needs to provide the recipe, method, and materials. There is no limit on how many items can be produced by the Factory. As long as you have enough materials, you can make as much as you like!”

After the announcement finished, a new panel popped up in front of her. Yao Zhi input the recipe and method for making gunpowder. Then she bought the materials from the System’s shop, spending a total of 300,000 points.

She put all the materials into the Factory’s warehouse and set the amount to the maximum. She didn’t know how much gunpowder she could get with this batch of materials, so she could only test the limit.

When she saw the amount of gunpowder she could get, her eyes widened in surprise. Compared to the amount she could get when she mixed it manually, the amount produced by the Factory was almost tenfold more.

With 300,000 points’ worth of materials, she could get almost 2,500 tons of gunpowder. Even in the modern era, this was a huge amount that could give her a one-way ticket to jail for a lifetime.

After she regained her composure, she checked the time. This time, she finally felt better because the Factory didn’t have a processing time. It finished with just one click.

Yao Zhi clicked on the panel while muttering, ”At least the 2.5 million merit points are worth something.”

Even though the System heard its Host’s complaint, it continued to play dead. Now that the Host didn’t have many merit points, it couldn’t scam—cough—no, couldn’t sell anything to her. So, there was no need to play along with its Host.

Not knowing that her System was a real piece of scumbag, Yao Zhi input the recipe and method for making the ancient version of grenades and bombs into the Factory’s system panel.

Then, she bought a huge batch of materials from the System’s shop, spending a total of 120,000 points. This time, she could get a total of 200,000 ”bamboo tube” hand grenades and 120,000 ”black” bombs.

When everything was ready, she saw that the amount of gunpowder used to produce so many grenades and bombs was not even 0.001% of the total gunpowder she had.
