My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 294: Chapter 214: Trying Out Abilities with the Two Girls

The two women ran over excitedly to share their joy with Li Xiang about their advancement.

Yao Yao followed along, happy for them. But she was quite confident; ’no matter how strong Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui’s abilities become, they’ll never be a match for me.’

”That’s great. Congratulations!” Li Xiang said with a smile, congratulating the two of them.

However, when Li Xiang invited them to demonstrate their powers, Lei Xiaohui seemed hesitant.

Lei Xiaohui said, ”Li Xiang, it’s not very convenient. My Superpower requires a secluded place, preferably a wide-open area where I won’t be easily spotted. And it’s best if there are no flammable materials nearby.”

Hearing that, everyone understood it was most likely related to fire.

”What about you, Xueqing?”

”I’ll go with Xiaohui. I don’t have as many restrictions.”

Li Xiang thought for a moment before saying, ”Alright, let’s do it tonight. Come over early, around four in the morning, and I’ll take you to a cave.”

”A cave? Li Xiang, isn’t that a little... exciting?” Yao Yao exclaimed.

The other three all rolled their eyes at her.

Yao Yao shrugged and made a funny face. She was only joking. After all, the four of them had already stayed in the same hotel room together several times. ’What’s a cave compared to that?’

A little after four in the morning, San Niu arrived for work in their respective cars, which was exceptionally early.

Li Xiang was already at the scenic area waiting for them.

Once everyone was there, Zhao Xueqing asked, ”Li Xiang, where are we going? Where is this cave?”

Li Xiang spread his arms and said, ”Come here, into my arms.”

”Huh?” The three women exchanged glances. Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui grew embarrassed and shy, mainly because they hadn’t expected Li Xiang to say that. They weren’t mentally prepared.

While the other two were feeling shy, Yao Yao giggled, and in a fragrant rush, she was the first to leap into Li Xiang’s arms, hugging him tightly.

Seeing this, Lei Xiaohui, not to be outdone, jumped in as well. Zhao Xueqing, her face crimson and utterly bashful, followed right behind them.

Zhao Xueqing silently cursed herself. ’Why am I always the last one? I feel like I’m really missing out.’

But she also knew it was just her personality. ’There’s nothing I can do about it.’

”Yao Yao, hold on tight, or you might fall,” Li Xiang warned as he prepared for ”takeoff.”

Yao Yao pressed her head firmly against Li Xiang’s chest, feeling blissful. ”Don’t worry, Li Xiang! I’m holding on super tight!” she cried out. ’I want to squeeze myself into your body, how could I possibly fall?’

Li Xiang held one woman in each arm, while Yao Yao clung to his waist like an octopus. Carrying three people didn’t affect his movement in the slightest. He leaped into the air, and the three women felt a wave of dizziness. In the blink of an eye, they had arrived at the entrance of a cave halfway up a mountain.

”Where is this?”

The three women looked around. All they saw was a desolate, mountainous wilderness. With no lights in the countryside at night, they were surrounded by peaks and had no idea where they were.

Yao Yao still didn’t want to let go. Only after Li Xiang flicked her on the forehead did she let out a small yelp and reluctantly detach herself from him.

Yao Yao joked, ”I’m a little airsick. My arms and legs went numb, that’s why I was slow to react.”

The other two rolled their eyes. ’Like hell we believe you,’ they thought. ’Numb after just a few seconds? You were obviously just trying to cling to him a little longer.’

Although Li Xiang had his Night Vision Superpower, the three women didn’t, so he took out three flashlights and handed them over.

”Li Xiang, isn’t this the place where you used to dig for Chicken Blood Stones?” Yao Yao asked, shining her flashlight around. The place looked familiar, and she suddenly remembered.

She used to watch Li Xiang’s livestreams.

”Smart girl,” Li Xiang said. ”You guessed it.”

”Huh? It’s this far away?”

”And we got here that fast?”

San Niu exclaimed, looking at one another in shock. They knew the spot where he had dug for Chicken Blood Stones was several kilometers from Li Family Village—and that was as the crow flies. The journey would be even longer following the winding mountain paths.

This was apparently the chosen site for the third-phase Shelter, but the construction plans and blueprints hadn’t been finalized yet.

”Then that mountain up ahead, where you can faintly hear some noise, must be the construction site for the second-phase Shelter. They must be working through the night,” Zhao Xueqing said.

The construction crews were working in two shifts now. However, since the site wasn’t too far from Li Family Village, they were careful not to make too much noise late at night to avoid disturbing the villagers. They tried to schedule the noisiest tasks for the daytime.

The construction itself was taking place deep within the mountain, with the entrance on the far side of the peak, which is why the three women couldn’t see any lights from where they stood.

Besides, the thick mountain rock was a fairly good sound insulator.

’Li Xiang carried us over such a long distance in the blink of an eye. It’s incredible, practically like flying.’

”Li Xiang, at that speed... you must be covering one or two kilometers per second,” Zhao Xueqing said after a quick mental calculation.

Li Xiang nodded slightly and smiled. ”Something like that.”

’I can cover 1.7 kilometers in a second, which means five kilometers in just three seconds. I didn’t expect Zhao Xueqing to actually make such a good estimate.’

When the three women heard Li Xiang confirm it himself, their eyes widened in profound shock.

’Still, it was great that Li Xiang ”flew” us over,’ they thought. ’If we had to walk by ourselves, even as newly advanced Tier One Transcendents, none of us are particularly fast on our feet. It would have taken ages. Besides, it’s the middle of the night. The mountain paths are rugged and overgrown, there are definitely snakes, and you see graves all over the mountains... It would have been terrifying.’

’And besides, the feeling of being held by Li Xiang while ”going for a ride” was absolutely amazing.’

”Come on, let’s go inside.” Li Xiang effortlessly moved the large boulder blocking the cave mouth and led the three women in.

”So thrilling,” Yao Yao joked. How could exploring a pitch-black cave in the middle of the night be anything but?
