Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 4690: Mist

With the flames, the village was no longer as quiet as before. However, Ye Jian didn’t hear anyone speaking. As the engine of the car turned off, the village returned to its usual peace. Even the fire had been extinguished. If not for the faint flames from the torches, Ye Jian would have thought that she was hallucinating from hunger.

Ye Jian took a deep breath. Even though she was hungry, her skills were not affected at all. She ran up and kicked the wall with her legs. Then, she jumped up. Her slender body was as agile as a bird flying through the leaves. She straightened her arms and grabbed the railing of the only window tightly.

Using a pull-up position, she exerted strength in her arms and finally saw the outside through the window.

She was being held in a utility room. The front of the utility room was extremely wide. The surrounding trees had all been cut down, creating an open-air square. The car that disturbed the peace in the mountain was parked in the square. There were people guarding the front and back of the car.

Someone got out of the car. Although the night was hazy, Ye Jian could still see who it was with the light from the torches.

The first man to come down was none other than Mozhi, the person who coaxed her into the car and spoke fluent Mandarin.

He was the first to get out of the passenger seat. He immediately opened the back door. A middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes came down calmly while buttoning his suit jacket.

The fake monk in an earthen-yellow robe received the man. The two of them shook hands politely. The fake monk made a ‘please’ gesture. The middle-aged man in a suit and leather shoes with the aura of a businessman naturally walked in front.

He was a successful man who was used to walking in front. He never stopped to wait for others.

The man in a suit and leather shoes and the fake monk walked at the front. They chatted as they walked. From Ye Jian’s position, she could vaguely see the two of them chatting happily under the light of the torches.

Mozhi, who was following closely behind the man in the suit, waved his hand behind him. A few men in black suits, who were guarding the car, immediately followed closely and fulfilled their duties as bodyguards.

Ye Jian’s gaze landed on one of the bodyguards. Among the photos of undercover agents provided by Captain Deng… this bodyguard was one of them.

On the 14th day of entering the Golden Triangle, she finally saw a narcotics police officer.

A young man in traditional Burmese clothes followed them closely. Ye Jian knew him too. He was the man she met when she entered the first mountain village. He was lustful toward her.

A group of dozens of people entered the mountain stronghold majestically. Then, the torches were extinguished again. In less than ten minutes, the entire mountain stronghold returned to calm.

Ye Jian jumped back to the ground and rubbed her hungry stomach with one hand. She had to bear with it. On the ninth day, there should be a small bowl of water and a pancake.

Captain Deng told her very clearly that her mission this time was not to keep an eye on the various drug dealers entering and leaving the core area of the Golden Triangle. Instead, she had to find out where the missing girls went and which villages in the Golden Triangle the new drug chain came from.

Although the Golden Triangle was a world-famous drug supply area, it wasn’t just one person who controlled the entire Golden Triangle. It was supplied by local ethnic militants, local warlords, local drug lords, and some villages.

Ye Jian, who sneaked in, couldn’t immediately figure out who had the motive of abducting young girls and where the young girls went. However, ever since she found out that the white skeleton belonged to one of the missing girls and that the village was controlled by a group of fake monks, she vaguely felt that the missing girls might have been under the control of several factions.
