Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 4228: It Would Be A Sacrifice Chapter 4228: It Would Be A Sacrifice Editor: Henyee Translations Aunt Qiu took the 100 yuan.

Then, she pointed out a bunch of ‘Red Plums’.

She even mentioned the ‘Red Plums’ from the neighboring village.

She spoke in the local dialect and even brought the two strangers to the houses of the two ‘Red Plums’ in Shuikou Village.

After sending off the two strangers, Aunt Qiu even smiled and said, “Come often when you’re free.” They spent almost half a day in the village but didn’t gain anything.

Instead, they spent 100 yuan.

The facial expressions of the two people weren’t as good as when they came.

They had spent money and seen Red Plums, but they weren’t the Red Plum they were looking for.

The middle-aged woman didn’t have any hope anymore.

“We’ve already walked through three villages.

Since we haven’t found anything, we can only return to the capital city.” “The old master has high hopes.

If we can’t get any news, it won’t be easy for us to report to him when we go back.” The middle-aged man held the blurry photo in his hand.

It was a black and white photo taken in 1979.

It had been 24 or 25 years.

The photo itself was unclear, and it had been a long time.

Even if the person in the photo appeared, they wouldn’t be able to recognize her.

After leaving Shuikou Village, the two of them continued to ask around in the surrounding villages.

Aunt Qiu, who had taken the money but didn’t actually help them, ran to Zhang Defu’s house.

He was still the village leader.

She quickly told the village leader that two strangers had entered the village and asked about a female soldier called Red Plum.

“There aren’t many female soldiers in the village.

Ye Jian is one of them, and Ye Jian’s mother is another.

However, the names don’t match.

I thought that it would be a waste not to take 100 yuan, so I just brought the two of them to the two families in the village and let them meet ‘Red Plum’.” Zhang Defu’s expression changed when he heard that Aunt Qiu took the strangers’ 100 yuan.

However, at least Aunt Qiu had emphasized the main point, so he didn’t flare up.

Although Aunt Qiu had never walked out of the village, she was a shrewd person.

She knew what she could say and what she could not.

Otherwise, how could she have angered Sun Dongqing back then?

This person was smart.

“If anyone spreads the news about the girl and her mother, there’ll be a problem.

I won’t talk about you taking advantage of the situation since you’re just a woman.

But if you ruin things, the people from the village will no longer acknowledge you.” If Aunt Qiu was accused for treason, the entire village would not be able to raise their heads for generations.

No matter where they went, they would be criticized.

“I have to call the military unit.

I have to let the higher-ups know that strangers have dropped by the village.” Due to the military unit’s teachings, the villagers of Shuikou Village, who were closest to the military unit, knew that something was wrong with the situation.

They immediately informed the military unit.

With the villagers’ cooperation, they caught several people who wanted to go into the mountains to take photos.

Before the two strangers who asked about Red Plum left Fujun Town, Commander Xia already knew about them.

As for the information about the martyr, Red Plum, it had been erased.

The village she was in when she was alive only knew her as Sun Xueqing and not Red Plum.

The strangers carried around a group photo and asked the villagers if they knew Red Plum.

However, no one knew that Red Plum was Sun Xueqing.

As for the martyr memorial park, Sun Xueqing’s photo had been taken down.

The name carved on the tombstone was ‘Tomb of the Martyr, Red Plum’.

Even if they went to the martyr park, they wouldn’t gain anything.

Although everything had been arranged, they couldn’t let down their guard.

Since th eother party had already investigated Shuikou Village, they might find more information.
