Ascendant Path of a Lustful Vampire

Chapter 330: Submerged **

For a long minute that felt like an hour, Caius just stared. Stunned.

This was unlike Arlette as he had ever known her. On the page of a novel, in person, as he had over the last couple of weeks. And yet, as much as this reaction was new, was it really so unexpected?

Caius was inclined to think, No. It wasn’t unexpected.

Hell, since he had woken up on her bed, saw her in the midst of what might have been a repeated rewatch of him getting struck so hard that his chest caved in, and seeing her flinch at that attack for what had definitely not been the first time, he had known something like this was coming.

He just hadn’t grasped how little of an argument he would have in response.

Ordinarily, Caius would have offered a smile and shrugged the issue aside. But learning how much danger he had put Kaya, Eloise, and Delia in because of his arrogance and relaxed take on the events he was actively changing, made him tongue-tied.

So yes, he had a few defenses to Arlette’s question and tone. But he couldn’t for the life of him say them out loud. He just took in the sight of her face. Her brows raised and her eyes wide in an irate expression as she awaited a response.

”Aren’t you going to say anything?” Arlette demanded when he remained silent.

Caius rose in the water then, raising his hand to grab the back of her neck gently. He pulled her down to connect their lips.

The feel of his touch on her melted Arlette’s anger instantly. She could practically see the anger floating away from her and she reached out to it mentally, trying to grasp it but it just passed through her mental hands like a normal person trying to take hold of air.

When her lips touched Caius, a feeling bubbled in her heart. Longing.

Longing so strong it actually hurt. A sound broke out from her lips then, muffled against their connected lips but so clear to hear as the start of weeping. Her tears flowed strongly from her eyes now. The drops that had slid down her face earlier had been despite how hard she had been trying to hold them back. Now, she no longer tried.

She pushed against Caius’s face, raising herself off the rim of the bath until she leaned her entire weight against him, sending them both toppling into the bubbling, warm bath water.

They submerged into the water, going beneath where their kisses didn’t stop. Arlette never had the thought to relax her pushback against Caius’s body and they sank so deep into the bath that they hit the bottom of it. Caius, to his credit, didn’t push against her to return them to the surface either.

At the fourth Circle, holding his breath underwater was a given. He couldn’t do it indefinitely and the fact that he was doing something as active with his mouth as kissing, cut down the time he could spend underwater by quite a bit.

But that was fine. It was more than fine actually.

Feeling Arlette’s breasts against his chest, her arms around his neck, and her hands in his hair, moving through it so easily because they were underwater, felt incredible. He had stripped when going into the bath so there was no constriction on his bottom half to try and keep his cock down.

It was filled with blood and turgid almost as soon as Arlette reciprocated his kiss. And now it was pressed hard between them. Despite not being restricted by pants though, it was still limited by how little space was made available between Caius and Arlette’s bodies.

Arlette felt the hardness. It made her giddy. Her body trembled against Caius and she felt her inner muscles contract with excitement but for the life of her, she couldn’t tear her attention away from Caius’s lips to that organ.

Really it hadn’t been long since she had last felt Caius’s lips on hers. But the events of today had made the day feel far too long. Plus, having spent a long time worrying she’ll never get to feel this again, made the moment all the more intense. All the more... sweet.

Probably the best evidence of how much she delighted in the moment was when Arlette felt she was out of breath. At her Magic Circle, that shouldn’t have been the case. She should have at least an hour underwater, without breath. But somehow, the kiss had sucked all that up.

Also, even if she could do without breathing, her body actively demanded it still. Her body demanded to suck Caius in. To suck in breath and enjoy the scent of him. As such, long before she even began to run out of breath, the lack of air was already making Arlette uncomfortable.

There were two ways to deal with this.

One way was to use magic to create an air pocket underwater. Wind might not be her usual element of choice but Arlette was capable enough to succeed at this.

Still, she picked the second option which was to gather Caius in her arms and kick their way to the surface.

*Splash!*

Their heads broke the surface of the bath with a near-violent eruption of water and they broke apart, taking in gulps of air and staring at each other’s faces.

Caius adored the way her shiny black hair had become sleek with the water. Her satin robe was flattened against her body, highlighting her curves. The most obvious of which was the high rise of her breasts. With no underwear to restrict them, the two wonderful mounds wobbled enticingly, with hard nipples poking through the robe.

Caius raised a hand and placed it on one of Arlette’s breasts. He didn’t squeeze it. He didn’t knead it. He just let his palm touch it gently through the material of the robe. Pressing only a bit harder against the erect nipple that topped it.

”Ngh,” Arlette groaned and bit her lower lip lightly. Her hand brushed through Caius’s hair, directing the beautiful locks to the back of his head and away from his face.

She wanted to look at that face. She wanted to take it in. The sheer perfection of it.

Caius’s other arm was wrapped around Arlette’s waist and he placed his hand on top of the arch of her ass. Touching the ample cheeks through the wet robe she had on. That part of her body was still underwater so when he drew his hand away and snapped it back for a spank, he put quite a good deal of his strength behind it.

The water was sure to create a buffer that would reduce the impact of his spank so he worked to counter that. He must have succeeded because Arlette’s mouth fell open in a gasp and she shivered before lunging forward to seize his lips again.

As she had done before, she leaned her weight against him. But this time, she didn’t use that to force them underwater. Instead, used it to push Caius back to the edge of the bath. There she raised her leg, pressing her thigh against Caius’s side and rubbing the in-between of her legs against him in a wet hump.

Despite the bottom halves of their bodies being underwater, Caius was convinced he could tell the difference between the moisture touching him. When he felt Arlette’s juices lather up against him—only ever staying for a second before being washed away by the bath water—he could tell it apart.

It steeped him in a heady state for her and after a few more squeezes of her asscheeks, he moved his hand between Arlette’s legs, touching the spot between. The spot that was the source of the juice was lathering up against him.

And with the slightest of brushes against those sensitive lower lips, Arlette trembled so hard, her body seemed at risk of turning to jelly and melting into the water below.
