Death… And Me

Chapter 4571: Refusal

Tobao still didn’t like the idea. There was unity between the regions, and they were supposed to help one another whenever possible. However, that didn’t mean they couldn’t try to poach experts from each other. If the twins’ group went to Natak with the Fox and the Raven and eventually became convinced to stay, there wasn’t much Tobao could do about it.

Too bad for Natak, though. Roan had no intention of leaving at the moment. In fact, no one in the twins’ group intended to do so.

”I have to refuse your invitation. During the next few years, we will be focusing on the gains we made in Woster and on our cultivation. Whatever the Eternal Night Raven and Eternal Day Fox can do for your Natak Region, that is not our problem.”

Thery narrowed his eyes. ”Aren’t you at least curious to learn more about them? You are obviously unaware of what they can do.”

Roan snorted. ”Hmph! Since you’re saying that, it means you already know. You just don’t want to tell us right now. Of course, I realize you only found out about this after sending your report to Natak and receiving their response. I believe you were just as oblivious to everything until today. Nonetheless, if telling us more about their abilities is that important to you, you can tell us now. We still won’t accept your offer if it means we have to go to Natak.”

Luxa was quite moved. ’I didn’t know Roan liked me.’

Rean smiled bitterly. ’I don’t think he likes you at all.’

Celis and Kentucky nodded vigorously. There was no doubt that Roan simply hated the idea of being used, and that was the feeling he was getting from this entire conversation.

Roan glared at the three of them, causing them to immediately look away.

Thery, of course, couldn’t hear any of their soul exchange. ”I... I can’t speak about it here. I’m sorry. But I can tell you what we can offer if you come with us. You said you wanted to focus on your cultivation as well, didn’t you? We can definitely provide you with a huge amount of resources for that.”

Roan shook his head. ”Forget it. There is no need to talk about it anymore. Instead, you should return to your Natak Region with Azerion. You have plenty to learn from his evolved bloodline as well, don’t you? You should focus on that. Forget about Luxa and Lunelle.”

”But...” Thery tried to insist.

”Amibhata, amibhata...” Tobao intervened. ”Friend Thery should refrain from insisting on a lost cause. How about we go to my monastery together instead? I have some very good tea to offer our friends from the Natak Region. I’ll also give you some to bring back to Natak.”

Thery felt helpless, but with the leader of Besgol standing right there, he truly couldn’t force the issue. The twins’ group also seemed to have made up their minds about not leaving. ”I... I thank you for the offer, but I must return to Natak soon before Azerion changes his mind.”

Before leaving, Thery bowed slightly toward everyone in the room. ”In any case, I thank all of you from Besgol for the help you provided in Woster. Friend Tobao, the agreed payment will arrive within the next few weeks. At the end of the day, breaking the lock that forced all Thousand-Script Race members to ascend to this part of the Celestial Plane was our main objective, and we achieved it with your help.”

Tobao smiled and placed a hand on Thery’s shoulder as he walked out with him. ”Friend Thery is too polite. Come, I’ll see you to the Long-Distance Teleport Array.”

Tobao also glanced at the twins’ group and gave them a slight nod.

Roan quite liked Tobao’s ability to read the room, so he nodded back.

Finally, Tobao and Thery left, leaving Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky alone with Luxa and Lunelle.

Luxa jumped into the middle of the room and looked at the twins’ group. ’Is this really okay? I want to know more about myself.’

Roan shook his head. ”For now, there is no need to know anything else. You can already use your powers well enough. I’ll make sure Lunelle learns to use hers just as well. Even if we’re missing something, we can investigate it later. Last but not least, who said the Natak Region is the only place where we can learn more about you?”

”It isn’t?” Even Rean looked at Roan curiously.

”Did you forget our main objective even before we went to Woster?” Roan asked. ”To get rid of these pink faeries inside our bodies. The Ruckus Region could possibly give us some light about their origins as well.”

Roan then thought to himself. ’There is also something I wish to try out.’

Then, he continued to talk to Rean and the others. ”We need to go to the Sprouting Portals and teleport to said Ruckus Region, which is the power that controls this part of the Grassroots Land. This idea that these faeries might do something to us if we reveal anything about the methods of controlling Godly Pressure annoys me. I don’t need those shackles.” (Chapter 4410)

”I guess that should indeed take priority for us,” Kentucky agreed. ”So... are we really going there this soon?”

Back then, Duze had told them that they needed to be at least a Zone God to use the Sprouting Portals. If someone with a lower cultivation level tried to use one, it simply wouldn’t work.

The twins’ group was currently at the Peak Stage of the Aura God Realm. They were already quite close to the Zone God Realm.

”That’s the idea,” Roan confirmed. ”The moment we reach the Zone God Realm, we’re leaving. We have our own Godly Pressure skills and the idiot’s airplane. With the Sanctuary and the system, it shouldn’t be impossible for us to reach the nearest portal to Besgol.”

[That’s good and all,] Sister Orb suddenly intervened, [but first, you should really focus on what you gained from the system. You got quite a few points, you know? Above all, you obtained new system upgrades!]

Roan intended to do exactly that. ”Very well. Let’s take a look.”
