Death… And Me

Chapter 4061: Familiar Formation

”Oh-ho...” Zanbril looked straight at Xixie. ”I have to admit, for someone from such a remote place, you do have some courage.”

Hoblio was not Xixie’s advisor, so he quietly excused himself. When Xixie noticed it, she only saw Hoblio showing an apologetic expression. ’Sorry, little sister. I would die for you, but this... this you will have to resolve by yourself.’

’Traitor!’ Xixie exclaimed in her mind.

Rean also left since he had nothing to do with it anyway.

She ignored Hoblio, looking at Zanbril. Xixie couldn’t come up with an excuse. Why? Because there was no excuse, that’s why. Kentucky wasn’t lying. She was supposed to hit him in the chest with a punch. But at that moment, she was indeed angry with everything, especially Kentucky.

Sure, she made a decision to risk his life first, but he also got the chance to do the same in the first test. He ended up staying, so she survived. Yet, the first thing he did was threaten to kill her in the second test.

However, was all of that Kentucky’s fault? Of course not! Xixie was livid with the fact that Zanbril was coming up with all those bullshit tests. Then, when Zanbril blasted her chest off, she truly thought that was it. She would land a hit, but would Kentucky be able to heal something like that? She highly doubted it.

In the end, she could only make the most of the situation. She thought she would die, and the main culprit was right in front of her. So why don’t we make him taste some misfortune as well? Thus, instead of a punch in the chest, she went beyond that, slapping him in the face. Then, she finally died... or so she thought.

Yet, lo and behold, she suddenly woke up in the Main Hall. Kentucky truly did have the capability to heal her from something that ridiculous. To make things worse, everyone saw her naked, every single corner and color of the most private parts, and she wasn’t even awake!

Now, Kentucky just had to open his mouth and tell how she actually decided to give Zanbril the slap of her own volition!

She slowly looked at Kentucky, feeling like crying. ”W-Why did you have to tell him?”

Kentucky looked back at her, his expression showing the obvious. ”Why? Isn’t that clear? He knows it was my plan that got you to hit him first, but that also meant it would be me who told you to slap him on the face. It’s just that I did no such thing. Why would I take the blame for that? I’m not here to make enemies with the Zentian Imperial Family, you know?”

Everyone around here heard that. Yes, these two were different from the rest of the princesses. Kentucky truly didn’t give a damn about Xixie. He was only having his fun, so he absolutely wouldn’t take the blame for anything he didn’t do.

*Pat*

Zanbril put a hand on Xixie’s shoulder, his smile even bigger. ”Don’t worry, don’t worry. I’m looking forward to how you will do in the next test. Hehe! I won’t give you any advantages. However, at the moment, I’m truly, truly expecting you to become my wife. I’ll make sure to reciprocate today’s favor over an entire life together. Trust me. The words of an Imperial Family Member are worth more than gold.”

Xixie’s face was whiter than a ghost.

Zanbril let go of her shoulder and returned to the stage. He used his Divine Energy to drive away the blood and took a pill to help with his own injuries. Finally, he returned his attention to the remaining princesses and the crowd of spectators.

”Well then, let’s start the last test.”

Xixie raised her hand, totally intending to give up the chance of taking part in the last test. Whatever her problem back in Riquicious was, she felt like it would be better than winning this thing.

Zanbril completely ignored her, though... ”First, no princess can give up anymore. After all, you are taking a slot that so many failed and died for.”

Yes, he was preventing Xixie from giving up. There was no way he would let her go now. A debt must be paid, but that will be after the test.

Zanbril waved his hand, and a kind of Domain expanded. However, it was being supported by various runes, like a formation. Even Rean wasn’t certain of what this was about, just had some ideas.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*

Suddenly, Kentucky appeared by Rean and Hoblio’s side. ”Uh? Was I teleported?”

He wasn’t the only one. All the nearby spectators and the advisors disappeared from the center of the Main Hall; only the princesses remained. Then, they saw those runes in the Domain or Formation gather around the princesses.

”It’s some kind of soul-related thing,” Rean said. He still didn’t know what it was, but he had enough experience to give that educated guess.

Zanbril, still on the stage, continued. ”I now know almost everything I need about you, and there is no doubt each one of you would become a wife worthy of the Zentian name. There is only one thing remaining to ascertain: Your intentions!”

”In this sealed formation, you may not attack each other, you may not lie, you may not flee. If you try any of those things, your soul will be assaulted by immense pain to the point that it might get truly damaged to an irreparable degree.”

Hoblio suddenly sent Rean and Kentucky a Divine Sense Message. ’I know this one. The Zentian Empire often uses this thing when it is about to seal major deals, form alliances, and such. It is extremely expensive and hard to run since it also works on Celestials.’

’It is a kind of formation that will decide for itself what the best course of action is. If the rumors are true, the only one capable of influencing this thing’s results is the emperor himself. Even Zanbril will not be able to change the final result. It is something that guarantees none of the sides are hiding anything from each other.’

Rean and Kentucky looked very interested, finding it very familiar. ’So, basically, it is a Roan Formation.’
