Death… And Me

Chapter 3978: Swap

”Someone else?” They paid attention.

Krue’Suan nodded and explained, showing the message he received from Ximao. ”We could do a momentary swap with another power. Ximao talked to another Observer, who is responsible for a judgmental eye from an alliance of five continents called Qufis. The guys from Qufis have a few more Space-Bending Realm experts they wish to send into the Future Realm.”

The twins understood. ”So, basically, we would take the real Space-Time Realm test, and these guys from Qufis will take the Space-Bending Realm test.”

Krue’Suan nodded. ”This one is pretty good since this is actually a win-win situation for both sides. Qufis is contacting other powers, requesting the same thing.”

”Isn’t it too much of a coincidence that they appeared just now that we need such a thing?” Rean was skeptical.

However, Krue’Suan already received the instructions. ”Not really. Qufis has already been trying these kinds of swaps for several months nonstop, and they aren’t the only ones. Ximao received the request from Qufis’s Observer, but he had no need to answer it before. Now that a Celestial Realm Expert appeared, he thought this would be your best chance.”

That confirmed it wasn’t a coincidence. ”Is this kind of swap normal?”

”I think so. I haven’t been here the other times,” Krue’Suan said.

[That I can answer. I just checked it here in the Werdlem Network. Yes, it is actually not all that rare. Sometimes, there are powers that wish to send more experts of a certain cultivation level into the Future Realm simply because those experts have higher potential. It kind of makes a lot of sense if you look at it.]

Still, Sister Orb was sad. [I just can’t help but curse this Celestial Realm idiot for appearing now. What was all my work for? I spent months preparing everything with those formations in the selection facility.]

’Well, nothing we can do about that,’ Rean shrugged.

Roan ignored Sister Orb, speaking to Krue’Suan. ”That won’t work. At the end of the day, our cultivation realms are higher. We will use our own IDs after the swap, and everyone will find out that we aren’t really at the Space-Bending Realm. That defeats the purpose of our plans. The idea was to pretend to reach the Space-Time Realm without anyone doubting it.”

Krue’Suan hasn’t thought about that. ”That... That’s true... This swap would only work if you truly were at the cultivation realm you said you would be. Sigh... Forget the swap. It will be meaningless.”

[Wait! I have an idea. Accept Krue’Suan’s offer, but create a new ID for yourselves to use as Space-Time Realm Experts. Obviously, change your appearance too. When the swap between Qufis and Runia happens, and you make the test, I will also swap the IDs used in the selection formations. Hahaha! At the end of the day, I didn’t waste months of work for nothing!]

The twins understood. With those different IDs, they would pass the cultivation realm check for Space-Time Realm experts as members of the Qufis Alliance. At the same time, the Space-Bending Realm experts that the Qufis Alliance wants to take part in the selection would do so as members of the Runia Continent.

Even better, as the leader of this excursion to the Future Realm, no one other than Krue’Suan had to know about this swap. There was no reason to report anything, and there was no need either, since Ximao would be the one to receive the reports anyway.

Those Space-Bending Realm Experts from Qufis, who would go through the cultivation check, would have their IDs swapped in real time for the twins’ group instead. No one would notice with Sister Orb in command.

Finally, the twins could enter the Future Realm while pretending to be experts from Qufis, and simultaneously, their real IDs would also be accepted. The method was different, but Sister Orb’s hacking ability would absolutely be the key in the end.

”Krue’Suan, tell the Qufis Observer that we accept the swap. We have another ID prepared that we can use just for that case,” said Rean.

”What?!” Krue’Suan was taken aback. ”You have more IDs? Bu-But what about the Werldme Energy Signature? How can you fake that?!”

”Did you forget what kind of guy is supporting us?” Roan asked back.

It was still a shock to anyone to hear that someone could have more than one ID in the Werdlem Network. However, when he thought that the twins had some kind of ’influent backer’ in the Werdlem Empire capable of messing with the IDs, he could only accept. ”I see... So your backer thought of everything, uh? Are you truly not able to contact him anymore?”

”If we could, we would have asked him to let us into the Future Realm without relying on all this shit,” Roan commented.

”Well, that’s true...” Krue’Suan would have done the same. ”Okay! I will contact the Observer from Qufis and let him know about the swap. However, to keep things hidden, you guys better not appear anymore until the day of the selection.”

”We think so too.” Everyone agreed with him.

---

The Qufis’ Observer received Krue’Suan’s response, feeling ecstatic. Those who attempted the swaps were many, but very few really did it. After all, who would want to give up their spots? To receive a message that the Runia Continent wanted to swap a total of six Space-Time Realm Experts for Six Space-Bending Realm ones was great news for him.

The days went by, and the only bad side was that Foliana and Tanxan couldn’t go to the gatherings to try to acquire information regarding Celestial Laws. They couldn’t earn Divine Stones either, but that wasn’t a big problem. Tanxan’s Inscriptions and Formations ability would be enough for the two of them in the future as they travel.

During this time, Rean came out of the estate and checked the Divine Senses around. Sure enough, the Celestial Realm Expert was still there, so the swap plan had to be kept.

A week prior to the selection and the cultivation check, Qufis and Runia met outside the city. The twins’ group, now under a different ID and appearance, joined the Qufis alliance. At the same time, the Space-Bending Realm experts from Qufis joined the Runia Continent instead.

”Krue’Suan,” the representative of Qufis, a man called Halvo, gave him a warning. ”This meeting did not happen. We would rather no one know that we sent our guys into your rankings. They haven’t made an appearance anywhere yet, so no one knows about them.”

Krue’Suan was more than happy to comply. ”The same goes for us. My friends will be under your banner, but I very much wish you to keep this information concealed.”

Halvo smiled. ”Then it seems like we are both in the same boat. That is good. See you guys in the selection.”

The swap happened, but that didn’t mean the twins’ group went away with Qufis, nor did the Qufis experts stay with Runia. The swap was merely a Werdlem Network process where both sides were added to the other roster instead. The meeting happened so that both sides could at least meet the cultivators ahead of time to prevent confusion.

With everything prepared, they only needed to wait for the selection to start.
