Death… And Me

Chapter 3154: And Here It Comes...

Silence... Other than Rean and Kentuckyʼs laugh, there was only silence in the surroundings. However, they quickly turned to Rean and Kentucky, expecting to see both of them dying due to the contractʼs backlash. Yet, the silence continued until Rean and Kentucky stopped laughing. Nothing happened to them at all.

”Howʼs that possible?”

”We definitely saw the contracts taking effect.”

”And itʼs both of them on top of that...”

Zymrug was the most shocked in their group. If Rean and Kentucky were at Stage Eight, which was equivalent to an Elemental Transformation Realm cultivator, he could understand why the contract didnʼt work. That wasnʼt the case, though. They were only at Stage Six...

*cru, cracc, druuu...*

Rocks moved aside, and an almost dead Jazorth crawled out of the debris of the crater created with his own body. He was bleeding all over, many of his bones were broken, and he barely could stand up after coming out.

*Cough, cough...*

Jazorth coughed out blood several times before looking at Rean and Kentucky in the distance. ”Iʼm going to kill you!”

Rean and Kentucky didnʼt seem the least bit scared. ”You can try if you want. Come, come!” ”Stop!” Zymrug obviously wouldnʼt let that happen. ”Someone, bring Jazorth away and take care of his injuries. He is in pretty bad shape, but his injuries arenʼt anything that canʼt be healed.”

Against his will, Jazorth had no other choice but to be taken away. That left Rean and Kentucky with Zymrug and the others.

Zymrug narrowed his eyes, wondering about what to do. This time, what Rean and Kentucky did was so ridiculous that the other Salamanders even forgot to get angry and curse them. ”How did you do that?”

Rean shrugged. ”I obviously have my own tricks. Who was it that decided that Stage Eight was the minimum necessary to fight against the binding? Who created that rule? I donʼt believe in what I canʼt see, so I obviously tried it myself before. My friend here, Sylvester, was especially helpful during that time.”

Kentucky once again prepared to take flight as Rean talked. ”Anyway, if you want me to take care of your conflicts and not leave any gifts behind, you know what you have to do.”

The Salamanders once again moved to block their path. Some finally snapped out of their trance and even tried to attack Rean and Kentucky outright. They didnʼt have the chance to do it, though.

”Let me!” Zymrug was still the Salamanderʼs leader. Rean and Kentucky had completely stomped on his and his raceʼs pride. Even if Reanʼs ability is of unprecedented use, as Dragonkin, he couldnʼt accept it anymore.

His spiritual energy spread, his Fire Element gathered, and a huge amount of air was taken into his lungs. Aiming at Rean and Kentucky in the air, he attacked with the Dragon Raceʼs Signature Skill!

ʼDragonʼs Breath!ʼ

As a Peak Transition Realm Lava Pristine Salamander, his Dragonʼs Breath was much faster, more powerful, and covered a much larger area. Rean and Kentucky were instantly engulfed by the power of fire from Zymrug. There was no way they could even block such a powerful attack with their cultivations.

Yet, Zymrug and the other Salamandersʼ Spiritual Senses didnʼt pick Rean and Kentucky at all. As soon as the fire hit them, those two disappeared without a trace. The Dragonʼs Breath covered the skies, scaring the weaker and younger Salamanders further down. As for Rean and Kentucky, no clue was left behind.

”Hmph! Pulverized in an instant. Thatʼs what you get for stepping on the Lava Pristine Salamander Raceʼs pride,” Zymrug spoke with contempt.

The other Salamanders all nodded. That was the only explanation for them to disappear in the middle of the Dragonʼs Breath. It made sense, too. The difference in cultivation was too big, so why wouldnʼt the Dragonʼs Breath wipe those two out?

Yet, there were a few Salamanders who didnʼt look that happy. They glanced at Ambrisio and Gwart, who were used by Rean to show his cat raceʼs special ability. Those two became the only two Lava Pristine Salamanders who didnʼt have any conflict between their flood dragon bloodline and their fire element nature.

Zymrug obviously noticed that, and truth be told, he felt jealous of Ambrisio and Gwart. Rean had even commented that the solution might actually be permanent. He just wasnʼt sure. Zymrug is nearing the end of his lifespan. The next Divine Werdlem Stone Contest is the last one he will be able to take part in before he dies.

Ambrisio, aware of the reason those Salamanders looked at him, tried to make it a little bit easier for them. ”Hey, donʼt forget what that cat said before dying. Perhaps he truly set up some trap inside our bodies. If he did... Gwart and I might die in just a few years or decades.”

Gwart quickly nodded. ”Indeed.”

The other salamanders had their doubts. After all, Rean was just showcasing his abilities so he could try to strike a deal. It happened before the salamanders refused to share their blood. Did Rean really set up a trap on those two? First of all, was Rean really even capable of setting up any trap in their bodies? Chances are Gwart and Ambrision might have struck the jackpot. The salamanders discussed what to do after that. But, even though Rean was dead, there wasnʼt really much to talk about. The only topic was Gwart and Ambrisioʼs free-of-conflict bodies. They decided to wait a few decades, and if nothing happened, those two were to breed more offspring to see if they could pass that trait forward. At least, there was a chance.

Inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, Rean and Kentucky looked at the outcome

outside.

”They seem quite sad,” Kentucky mentioned.

Rean shrugged. ”Oh, itʼs fine. We will get the blood in no time.”

Roan got up at that moment. ”Iʼm going out.”

*Zush!*

And so, he disappeared from the Dimensional Realm.

Of course, the last time Roan left the Dimensional Realm was before Rean and Kentucky entered the monitoring formation range. That meant his own exit was still there.

After coming out, Rean also appeared by his side since Rean could use Roanʼs location to come out of the Dimensional Realm, truly a convenient ability. ”Now, we just wait.”

A few hours later...

”And here comes our first client,” Rean laughed as he saw that.

A figure appeared on the horizon. It was small, definitely humanoid. However, upon closer look, one could see Demon Beast features. That was definitely a Demon Beast in his humanoid form and a Lava Pristine Salamander at that.
