Death… And Me

Chapter 3126  Nowhere

Inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, Roan watched the outside since the exit he left behind was still inside Gratlurʼs office. Gratlurʼs expression slowly changed, and suddenly, the normal Gratlur was back, looking around in confusion. ”Hum? Where is Zangeshu?”

That event immediately reminded Roan of Karevʼs story again. ʼJust like it happened to Karevʼs brother, Gratlur also seems to not be able to remember what happened when his real Will was trying to take back control.ʼ

Rean, who was in the Puppetry test, agreed with him. ʼIndeed. That is a good thing, though. You can just leave Zangeshu somewhere when we leave this place.ʼ

[Rean... I donʼt want to kill your drive, but are you sure you want to make this place explode? You would literally be killing many innocent experts. Not to mention, the Inquisition Forging Hall members you kill arenʼt really the culprits. They are most likely under the same type of control as Gratlur just now.]

Rean shook his head in response. ʼAre you crazy? I obviously wouldnʼt do such a thing! When we start to make the formations in the Inquisition Forging Hall go chaotic, we will make it so they can identify straight away this place is going to explode. Or, to be more specific, the volcano it is attached to will. Everyone will have plenty of time to escape before things go out of control for real. Sister Orb, you just need to make sure the changes you make to the cores canʼt be reverted.ʼ

[Oh! Then thatʼs a lot better. But I will need a while longer to change them all.]

ʼThatʼs not an issue. You can hack into the formations without anyone noticing, anyway. Hehe!ʼ Rean answered. ʼBy the way, Roan, do you think Gratlur would try to kill Zangeshu if you released him outside.ʼ

Roan understood what Rean meant. ʼYou are saying that Gratlur doesnʼt remember Zangeshu now. However, as soon as he sees Zangeshu, he will lose his Will again and try to kill the kid, is that right?ʼ

That was exactly what Rean was thinking. ʼThatʼs correct. I mean, the fact that Gratlur attacked Zangeshu probably means that Zangeshu himself still isnʼt under the same kind of control as Gratlur or Karevʼs brother. If he was, Gratlur would know and would not have attacked Zangeshu... or you, to be correct.ʼ

[There are two possibilities here.] Sister Orb intervened. [One, Zangeshu truly isnʼt under any kind of control. Once Roan asked Gratlur about the future of this planet, Gratlur was forced to kill him by whatever was controlling his real Will. That also indicates that Gratlur will attack Zangeshu again most likely.]

[Or two: After Roan made his question, some kind of protocol was activated, and it might have detected that Roan wasnʼt under the same type of mind control. Thus, Gratlur attacked, thinking about Roan as an enemy. So, Gratlur might not have attacked if the one who made the question was truly Zangeshu in the flesh.] Neither Rean nor Roan could deny both possibilities. However, Roan had an advantage. He looked in a certain place direction, quickly finding an unconscious body there. ʼI might as well take a better look into Zangeshuʼs soul.ʼ

ʼActually...ʼ Yet, he immediately stopped, looking at Sister Orb. ʼYou take a look at his soul. Inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, you are god, right? If there is truly something controlling Zangeshuʼs will or whatever, you are the best you to find it.ʼ

Sister Orb had to admit she was happy. [Look at you, trusting your companions. Little Roan has truly grown up.]

Roanʼs mouth twitched. ʼIf just you werenʼt omnipotent in this fucking place...ʼ

[Hahaha!] Sister Orb was very pleased with herself. It was good to see that it wasnʼt only Rean and Roan who could pull someoneʼs leg every time.

Sister Orb then grabbed Zangeshuʼs body with her control over the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, pulling him very close. The Control Orb then touched Zangeshuʼs forehead, and Sister Orbʼs sense entered his body and soul. It was just like Roan said. In this place, Sister Orb is god. If there was truly something foreign inside Zangeshu, she would find it.

However... in the end, there was nothing wrong with him. [Hum... Unless the Werdlem Empire has some kind of Mind Controlling ability that I can not detect with the Systemʼs Power, Zangeshu is completely clean.]

Roan wanted to make sure he wasnʼt missing anything, though. he looked at Zangeshuʼs abdomen, which had a hole in it. For Roan to pretend to be Zangeshu, just his body, memories, and aura werenʼt enough. He also needed Zangeshuʼs Werdlem Stone. That would also fool the Werdlem Empireʼs System.

Roan opened the slot in the bracelet, taking the Werdlem Stone out and throwing it at Sister Orb. ʼCheck this thing. Is it possible for the Inquisition Forging Hall to take control over Zangeshuʼs body through this?ʼ

Sister Orb didnʼt waste time and threw Zangeshu away, catching the Werdlem Stone instead. After sending her consciousness inside, she shook her head again. [It is just like any other Werdlem Stone I looked into. There is nothing in here that could take control of someoneʼs Will.]

Rean already expected that. ʼNothing surprising, right? I mean, if a normal Werdlem Stone truly had this capability, then Sister Orbʼs theory would die.ʼ

[Which one?] Sister Orb asked back.

ʼThe second one,ʼ Rean continued. ʼYou implied Gratlur might have attacked Zangeshu because he couldnʼt detect the same kind of Will Controlling power in Roanʼs mind. So, if the Werdlem Stones had this kind of capability, Gratlur wouldnʼt have attacked to start with since Roan was using Zangeshuʼs Werdlem Stone to pretend to be him.ʼ

[Oh! Then thatʼs good. It pretty much confirms that Zangeshu truly doesnʼt have anything from the Werdlem Empire controlling his Will.]

ʼNot quite,ʼ Rean corrected her, though. ʼDonʼt forget. You said it yourself. There might be some kind of Will Controlling power that even you canʼt detect. As far as we are concerned, even if Zangeshu had this Will Controlling Power in his soul, maybe the protocol was still to kill anyone who talked about the planetʼs future event. We canʼt be sure.ʼ

Roan massaged his forehead, feeling annoyed. ʼIn the end, we got nowhere.ʼ
