Death… And Me

Chapter 3090  Wrapping Things Up

Rean felt satisfied. In the end, not only did he complete the quest regarding Yuan and Tana, but he also got a lot more Celestial Points than he initially thought he would. ʼYou truly have some interesting ideas, little guy,ʼ Drefin spoke to Rean through Spiritual Sense. ʼThese kinds of schemes are usually what humans are good at. If I couldnʼt feel your Demonic Aura, I would definitely think you are a human yourself.ʼ

Rean scratched the back of his head. ʼI donʼt know if I should take it as a compliment or not...ʼ

ʼItʼs a compliment,ʼ Drefin confirmed. ʼHow about it, Garfield? Yuanʼs future is guaranteed, so there is no need for you to go anywhere else. In fact, I would like to have you myself to help with the Saramina Sea Demon Palace. Very few Demon Beasts here have good heads like yours. And since you get scared that easily, it would be even better since you wouldnʼt need to go out anymore.ʼ

Rean wanted to shout that he wasnʼt scared, but he unfortunately couldnʼt. ʼAhem... I shall stay by Yuanʼs side for the time being. He was the one who showed me the outside world, after all. He also ʼsavedʼ me of the Spatial Rifts.ʼ Those last words came out with some difficulty.

Drefin didnʼt mind. Rean staying by Yuanʼs side also meant staying on the Saramina Sea Demon Palaceʼs side. ʼIs that so? Then, if the need arises, I hope you can and a hand at least.ʼ

ʼThat I can do,ʼ Rean accepted that much. Well, he had no intention of staying here for much longer, though.

Still, someone thought there was a problem. ”Palace Master, what about the participants of the contest? You already gave your word that the first one to bring the Jades would take Tanaʼs hand. I know that Yuan is definitely a better choice considering the circumstances, but still...”

Drefin narrowed his eyes. It wasnʼt a problem about what he could or could not do but about fulfilling his promise. ”For that-”

”Oh, that isnʼt a problem,” Yuan quickly spoke back. Right after, he waved his hand, and tens of Heavenly Marine Jades appeared on the ground in front of everyone. ”Most likely, because of the bloodline in that room, there was a lot of Heavenly Marine Jades. I obviously wouldnʼt leave them behind, so I took them all with me once I absorbed the blood. These are all the jades I took.”

Everyoneʼs eyes lit up. Not only would the Heavenly Marine Jades be good for Drefin and Tana, but so would for themselves. The Charybdis Queen mentioned it herself. The Jades are good for any Demon Beast below the Void Tempering Realm.

Drefin didnʼt waste time and used his Spiritual Energy to grab all the jades. Since Yuan was still in the palace, he was also under the effect of the Soul Binding Contract. He said those were all the jades he acquired, and that must be true. ”Good! Good! Elders, I will definitely share the jades between us all according to our rules.”

The elders were just as excited. To keep the balance, the Jades were distributed equally after the expeditions into the Heavenly Marine Tunnel. It was one of the pillars that kept the various powers in the Saramina Sea a united front.

*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*

The Jades shot in various directions, falling into the hands of the elders, who were also the leaders or the representatives of their own races. Seeing the jades and the power it gave to their bloodlines, not a single elder there was dissatisfied.

”Well done, Yuan!”

”Truly worthy of Tanaʼs hand.”

”This is bound to be a great boost to the entire Saramina Sea.”

”Can we end this meeting already? I wish to bring the jades back to my race.”

Drefin raised his hand, making everyone stop talking. ”I know everyone is excited, but we need to do things properly. Yuan, as the first Sea Demon Beast to acquire the jades, you obviously won the competition. Itʼs just that the prize was Tanaʼs hand, which you already have. I donʼt think you mind that, right?”

Yuan quickly and happily took Tanaʼs hand. ”I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever, Palace Master.”

”Very well,” Drefin nodded. ”Now, there is another thing. I understood the whole story so far, and it is good that you are under the effect of the contract. That said, you still havenʼt told us how you made your way out of the Heavenly Marine Tunnel. Also, if it is possible, I would like to know the path you used so we could go back and check it once the Heavenly Marine Tunnel calms down in a few yearsʼ time.”

Yuan sighed in response. ”I wish I could give an answer to that, Palace Master. Unfortunately, that room also had a blueish Spatial Rift at the back. The place was completely locked down, with no entrances or exits. When I finished absorbing the bloodline, Garfield and I had no other choice but to throw ourselves into the Spatial Rift again. Finally, we ended up appearing near the surface.”

”That was really scary...” Rean commented. ”We tried to break the walls to see if we could open a path upwards, but those blueish rocks were wall too resistant. We were powerless against them. Otherwise, I would never jump inside the Spatial Rift again.”

Disappointment could be seen in Drefin and the other eldersʼ eyes. ”So thatʼs how it is... Well, I at least know that the first Charybdis Bloodline Owner also never managed to find more of the blood after the first time, so it isnʼt that surprising. I just wonder if there arenʼt more of those places there.”

Drefin quickly recovered. If anything, the many jades Yuan brought were already more than enough of a prize. ”Alright, letʼs conclude this meeting here. Yuan, Tana, donʼt forget you canʼt leave the Palace Territory for the time being. An announcement will be made shortly to all the races since it is also impossible to hide the news. I just wish Yuan hadnʼt come to us in such an open manner, but I guess it is too late to complain. We shall meet here again tomorrow.”

”Yes, Palace Master!” Everyone accepted the orders, putting an end to that meeting.
