Death… And Me

Chapter 2267 Two Weeks

The other elders looked at each other and could tell the twins were talking to Eagon through Divine Sense. However, they didnʼt intervene, waiting to see what was going to come out of it.

Eagon then explained. ʼAfter the explosion of Sunkan Planet, I went there to check and found Jakiro and the others, saving their lives against the Vruve Organization experts. You probably know that as well, right? Quite a few Sector Lords went there as well after I issued an emergency call, which forced the Vruve guys to leave.ʼ

The twins confirmed. ʼYes, Jakiro told us about that event already.ʼ

ʼGood.ʼ Eagon continued from there. ʼI talked to the other Sector Lord and explained what happened. After that, I brought everyone away soon after the Sector Lords left as well. However, the moment I arrived, I felt something strange in the location where it exploded. To not catch anyoneʼs attention, I only returned to investigate a few days later, alone.ʼ (Read the first part of chapter 548.)

ʼDo you know what I found when I returned there?ʼ Eagon asked the twins and Old Worm.

Obviously, they all shook their heads. They havenʼt returned there after the explosion, after all.

Eagon faintly smiled as he answered through the Divine Sense. ʼNothing!ʼ

That word only puzzled Kentucky. ʼYou want us to help you investigate... nothing?ʼ

Roan and the others, on the other hand, understood what Eagon meant. ʼThatʼs not it. Sunkan Planet exploded, so the debris of its carcass should float all around and stay there for who knows how many years. Yet, he found nothing. Is that correct, Eagon?ʼ

Eagon nodded. ʼIt is good to talk to smart people. Thatʼs correct. There wasnʼt even a single grain of sand remaining. Trust me, I looked for it. The Divine Sense of an Elemental Space Realm cultivator in the Mortal Realm is several times more powerful than in the three Higher Realms like the Realm of Gods. Nonetheless, not a single trace was left behind. Something took it all away, and I want to find what.ʼ

Roan finally understood something that had been bothering him for a while. ʼTraversing from the Mortal Realm to the Realm of Gods is very hard. Even if Jakiro offered his services to you for 10,000 years, I still think it wasnʼt worth the effort you had to put in to achieve that. Not to mention, you agreed to bring Mia together. Sure, her cultivation was many times smaller than Jakiro and that made things easier. But it was still an even extra effort. Now I see the reason why you brought them here.ʼ

Eagon had a surprised expression but nodded in the end. ʼYes, that is true. I wouldnʼt go so far just because of a Transition Realm cultivator, let alone two. I have plenty of them here. Why would I want more? It is his connection to that planet that made me consider this option and bring him here in the end.ʼ

Rean was still confused. ʼAlright, I can understand why you brought Jakiro. However...ʼ Rean then looked at the elders behind Eagon. ʼWhy do you want OUR help? You have Elemental Space Realm experts of your own clan right behind you. Why not ask for their help instead?ʼ

Sure enough, that was the question in everyoneʼs minds. Wouldnʼt it be better to keep things within his own clan and prevent the information from going out?

Eagon already expected that question, though. ʼYou will be a much better fit for the job. Since you are all ascenders, it is much easier to bring you all back to the Mortal Realm than it is to bring those who werenʼt part of it initially.ʼ

Rean contacted Sister Orb. ʼSister Orb, is that true?ʼ

[Yes. Do you remember how your bodies had traces of the mortal realm when you arrived? That you had to purge it before you could properly cultivate yourself? In a certain way, your bodies are more easily adaptable to the Mortal Realmʼs laws. So, yes, it is easier for you to go than someone like Eagon.]

Rean and Roan nodded. ʼSo thatʼs how it is.ʼ

They returned their attention to Eagon. ʼWe understand. Still, that doesnʼt explain why you would not tell your clan members about it.ʼ

ʼThatʼs my problem, not yours. Does it have any to the end of our negotiation?ʼ Eagon refused to tell.

Rean and Roan shook their heads. ʼAt the moment, it doesnʼt matter that much indeed.ʼ

ʼSo, how about it? Will you accept my offer and help me?ʼ Eagon was happy to hear that and immediately asked.

It was true that the twins were curious. After all, that was their planet. Also, they were pretty sure the Soul Gem System probably had something to do with it, something that even Sister Orb was unaware of. Last but not least, that might provide them with some clues as to what happened to their mother, who was the only member of their family on this side of the Universe they havenʼt found yet.

ʼVery well, we have a deal. We heard from Jakiro that you probably wonʼt be leaving in the next year. Does that mean we need to wait?ʼ The twins asked back.

ʼNo,ʼ Eagon wasnʼt in the mood to wait. ʼI can apply for the travel to be done straight away. You will come with me as external help. As one of the elders of the Jikli Clan, I have the authority to do so. That said, we will depart as soon as you can.ʼ

Eagon also added. ʼOh, and another thing. If you want to leave your people in that land you met Jakiro, you can do so. We canʼt touch mortals anyway since those are the rules of our clan. You can consider it as a token of my sincerity.ʼ

The twins shook their heads. ʼNo need. We have other plans for them. But we wonʼt leave straight away either. We need two weeks since we have somewhere else to go.ʼ

Eagon didnʼt mind. ʼThen you can contact me on my communication badge when you are ready.ʼ Naturally, a clan this big also got access to Reanʼs communication system.

Rean nodded and took Eagonʼs number. ʼThen we will meet in two weeks.ʼ
