Death… And Me

Chapter 1466 - Teleport Issues

The group quickly entered the city, which didnʼt really have a gate or anything like that. The city was well maintained, though. Guards could be seen in almost every busy street, plus they were both from humanoid races and a few aquatic demon beasts in human form.

Falangia looked at all of that when she remembered something. ”Right! Rean, how does this city compare to the cities in Treavin Continent? Can you see problems everywhere as well?”

Rean shook his head, saying, ”At the very least, I canʼt see anyone bullying others, starving people, or anything like that. Of course, weʼre in the busy part of the city. If we head to the poorer sides, we probably will see some of those.”

Falangia was happy to hear that, though. ”Thatʼs great! Itʼs already several times better than Dry Sky City at the very least.”

Rean then looked at Roan and asked, ”So, what will we do? Should we look for a teleport formation?”

Roan nodded. ”Yes. Weʼre just passing by Pol Continent. Now that we have the small Kibin, we can head straight to the Continental Barrier on the other side.”

It was then that Rean remembered something, so he focused his Divine Sense on Luanʼs forehead, asking, ʼBy the way, do you have a name?ʼ

The small Kibin said that it would hear their Divine Senses if they did that, so it immediately answered. Of course, only Reanʼs group could hear it. ʼAlan.ʼ

ʼAlan?ʼ Rean was quite surprised to hear that as he thought to himself. ʼThatʼs the name of a friend of mine back on Earth...ʼ Well, due to Reanʼs condition back on Earth, he didnʼt really think of Alan as a ʼfriend.ʼ However, Alan definitely did. Itʼs just that Alan thought Rean to be the silent type. ʼSigh... I wonder how his life went. In Earthʼs time, Iʼve been out for almost a year already, after all. Not to mention the time shift during the entrance into the Realm of Gods.ʼ

Rean then nodded, asking, ʼAlan, how are you doing?ʼ

ʼIʼm fine. Iʼve recovered quite a bit of my energy already. Then again, itʼs quite unfortunate you guys didnʼt die in the Continental Barrier. If you did, I would be free now,ʼ Alan said without a care in the world.

Reanʼs mouth twitched in response. ʼThatʼs quite dark, you know? Oh well, it seems like you canʼt go against your fatherʼs orders anyway. Weʼre counting on you when we reach the continental barriers.ʼ

It didnʼt take long for the twins to inquire about the Formation Guild in Utari City. Considering how big the city was, they definitely would have one. Inside, Reanʼs group could see many cultivators and quite a few aquatic demon beasts going everywhere. It was a very big guild.

On the counter, Rean immediately asked for information about the teleport formations. ”Hello, friend. Are the teleport formations available for use?”

The attendant was surprised by Reanʼs question. However, after checking the clothes of Reanʼs group, he seemed to have understood something. ”Oh, you guys came from Treavin, right? At the very least, youʼre not from Pol Continent for sure. Otherwise, you wouldnʼt have asked such a question.”

Roan didnʼt know what to say. He just asked a question about teleport formations. How come their identity was already found out just because of that? ”Ahem... would you mind explaining?”

The attendant acted pretty much like the man the twins found at the back of the island. Even though he knew the twinsʼ group came from outside, he didnʼt seem to care much about that. ”There are no such things as teleport formations in the Pol Continent. Well, itʼs not like there arenʼt, but rather, you wonʼt find them in the islands. Only aquatic demon beast cities would have them, and even those are very rare.”

”What?!” Rean was taken aback. One must remember that Pol Continent was at least three times as big as Huring Continent. If it turned out that the twins couldnʼt use teleport formations, then they would spend years traversing it. ”You canʼt be serious. There has to be a way to move faster from one sea to another, right? Otherwise, how do the experts move?”

The attendant then explained, ”Itʼs exactly because the Sacred Undersea Kingdom doesnʼt want humanoid races moving around that teleport formations arenʼt available. This isnʼt a secret, so Iʼll tell you this. Most of the continents around are controlled by humanoid races. Itʼs not common to find continents around this area where demon beasts have the power. The Sacred Undersea Kingdom knows that theyʼre surrounded by enemies from all sides, especially due to the Pol Continentʼs size. Naturally, they try to keep everything under control, and one of the ways to do that is limiting the construction of teleport formations.”

”This...” The twins didnʼt know what to do now. ”Is there no other way to teleport to the other side of the continent?”

The attendant shrugged his shoulders, saying, ”As I said, you can find teleport formations in a few rare undersea cities. However, not only is the closest undersea city extremely far away, humans are prohibited from using them. There might be some exceptions, but I doubt youʼll get one of them.”

The attendant then looked at the queue behind Rean before asking, ”Now then, if you donʼt have any other request, leave the queue and let me do my work.”

”Oh... right. Have a good day...” Thatʼs all Rean could say before his group left the queue.

Outside the guild, Rean and Roan talked about it. ”So, what now? Should we just bring Kentucky out and head to that undersea city?”

Roan sighed and nodded. ”What else can we do? Itʼs not like we have any other choice. The worst part is that we donʼt even know if weʼll be able to use their teleport formation or not.”

Rean couldnʼt help but ask, ”Perhaps we didnʼt get a good route. Then again, why didnʼt Erithean mention it?”

Roan shook his head. ”Perhaps at his level, teleport formations are useless, so he didnʼt need them when he came here.”

”Thatʼs probably it..” Rean could only agree in the end.
