The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 561: Chapter 561: Buying the Mountain Top (1)_1

Yang Ruxin was unaware that her adoptive father had reached some sort of agreement with her white lotus of a cousin, but in reality, even if she had known, she wouldn’t have cared. She had always faced challenges head-on, like a soldier blocking the oncoming enemy or like soil stopping water’s flow.

Now, she had begun to truly busy herself. After listening to the conversation between Gu Qingheng and Gu Yao, she suddenly felt an urge, an urge to become strong as quickly as possible. Only by becoming truly strong could she protect herself and her family, and only then would she have the confidence she needed.

She was well aware that she was currently just facing a group of frustrated villagers. Her fierce and fearless attitude could intimidate them, but were she to encounter someone truly formidable, her abilities would be insufficient.

Of course, there was another reason. Only if she was strong enough could she stand confidently beside Gu Qingheng.

Gu Qingheng may not seem like much now, but there would come a day when he would soar to great heights.

She didn’t want to be left behind when that time came, to have people say she wasn’t good enough for him.

The first step to becoming strong was to have money, and lots of it. In any era, money was indispensable. Even if society looked down on merchants now, which official could do without silver?

She had money before but dared not spend it at will. However, now that she had the ’tiger’ as an excuse, and with him doing business with Quanshun Building, she needn’t worry anymore.

Although she had previously bought a house and a shop in town, Budong Village would always be the root for her and her brother. It was imperative to develop this base of operations. Moreover, she had always dreamed of owning an estate. Therefore, her first step was to buy land in the village.

Yang Mancang knew that Yang Ruxin had silver and was very supportive of her idea to buy land.

”Xinxin, buying land is the right move. What kind of land are you considering?” Yang Mancang asked with a smile, nodding his head. ”Around here, we mainly grow wheat. Dry fields have their good and bad points, you...”

”Village chief, I am not interested in those fields for now. What I want is the hill at the back of the village, near the Xiaocang River bank...” Yang Ruxin interrupted Yang Mancang’s introduction. ”There is also a stretch of beach from the foot of the hill to the riverbank that I want to buy together with the hill...”

”You want to buy that hill?” Yang Mancang frowned. ”But the hill is covered with various trees, some fruit trees as well, but they’re not tasty. At the foot of the hill, there is a little cultivable land, but it doesn’t produce wheat. You might grow some sweet potatoes at most, and the beach below is even less suitable for cultivation...”

”Yes, Xinxin, having silver doesn’t mean you can just squander it. There are still many days ahead...” Lin Xiaoling also nodded. ”You can’t just buy land impulsively. Let your uncle find you some high-quality fertile land. You’ll have something to rely on in the future...”

”Mm.” Yang Ruxin nodded her head. ”I understand, but I won’t hide my intentions from the village chief and his wife. I have no experience in farming, and even if I bought land, I would have to lease it out, which I do not wish to do at the moment. The reason I want to buy the hill is that I don’t plan to grow grains. I’m planning to plant fruit trees and vegetables, including sweet potatoes, and raise ducks. The fruits and sweet potatoes can be made into various foods, and the duck eggs and ducks can all be sent to Quanshun Building. In short, it won’t be a loss. That place is situated downstream of the Xiaocang River, so it won’t affect everyone’s water usage...”

”This...” Lin Xiaoling and Yang Mancang couldn’t help but glance at each other.

”Don’t worry, I won’t spend money recklessly.” Yang Ruxin smiled. ”I’ll still need everyone’s support when the time comes...”
