Beauty Chairwoman’s Bodyguard Expert

”What exactly is Lu Tianxing trying to do? Is he plotting something else, or does he simply want to tell everyone that Yama Palace fears no one, and also has the ability to protect the forces under its name...?”

All kinds of thoughts flashed through Lu Haoyue’s mind, and his brows furrowed even deeper.

”Huu...”

No one knew how long had passed before Lu Haoyue let out a long breath, reached out and ruthlessly crushed the cigarette butt between his fingers into the ashtray. He leaned back against the chair with a somewhat tired expression, yet there was a clear look of contemplation on his face.

Just as Lu Haoyue fell into deep thought, the study door was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and an elderly figure walked in.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Lu Haoyue immediately raised his head at once. When he saw who had come in, he hurriedly stood up from the chair: ”Grandpa, what are you doing here?”

”I heard you haven’t eaten all day today, so I came to check on you.” Old Sir Lu glanced at Lu Haoyue and spoke slowly.

Hearing Old Sir Lu’s words, a wry smile involuntarily surfaced on Lu Haoyue’s face: ”Grandpa, do you think I can still eat right now?”

”Your mindset is unstable.”

Old Sir Lu looked at Lu Haoyue, his tone carrying a hint of reprimand: ”Haoyue, you are now the Head of the Lu Family. As the head of a household, the first thing you must learn is to remain expressionless even if Mount Tai collapses in front of you, and to stay unflustered even if the Yellow River bursts at your mouth. You must learn to stay calm in everything. But look at yourself now, what do you look like? The moment something happens you can’t even eat. This is a textbook case of losing your composure. As long as the slightest thing happens, it’s enough to throw you into complete panic and make you choose wrongly.”

”Haoyue, you have to know, you are no longer just one person now. You are carrying the entire Lu Family on your shoulders. Your every move concerns the future of the Lu Family. Do you know what will happen if you make a wrong choice? It will cause the entire Lu Family to be wiped out because of that one wrong decision. Countless people will lose their lives because of your mistake, do you understand?”

The more he spoke, the harsher Old Sir Lu’s tone became. He had no choice but to be harsh. In the past, he might have patiently taught and guided, but now that Lu Haoyue was already the Head of the Lu Family, bearing the future of the entire Lu Family on his shoulders, every decision he made would affect the family’s future. He had to use the sternest tone to lecture Lu Haoyue.

”Yes, Grandpa, I—I know I was wrong.”

Upon hearing Old Sir Lu’s words, Lu Haoyue immediately accepted the criticism with humility.

Indeed, ever since Lu Tianxing entered Beijing and the Tang Family sent people to Jiangnan to kidnap Dou Fangfang, he had felt his heart suddenly become restless, unable to calm down, always feeling irritated and uneasy, and he just couldn’t shake it off.

”Haoyue, it’s good that you understand. But you don’t need to blame yourself too much either.”

Old Sir Lu looked at Lu Haoyue and sighed softly: ”After all, you’re still so young, and on top of that the Lu Family is facing so many problems now. It’s perfectly reasonable for you to feel irritated and uneasy. It’s nothing serious, as long as you don’t let that irritability sway your thinking.”

At this point, Old Sir Lu looked at Lu Haoyue and spoke again: ”Haoyue, are you troubled because of Tianxing’s matter?”

”Yeah!”

Lu Haoyue nodded lightly: ”Grandpa, I really am worried about this matter. You should know what happened in Xiangjiang. The other side clearly has the strength to crush the Huang Family, yet they chose to give the Huang Family three days to consider. There’s definitely a scheme behind this, and that scheme is aimed right at my cousin.”

”But now Yama Palace has chosen to make a big show of sending people to Xiangjiang. Isn’t that sending sheep into a tiger’s mouth, walking straight to their deaths?”

After listening to Lu Haoyue, Old Sir Lu didn’t respond directly, but instead asked in return: ”Do you think Tianxing is an idiot?”

Stunned by Old Sir Lu’s words, Lu Haoyue shook his head: ”No!”

If Lu Tianxing were an idiot, he wouldn’t have become the leader of the Netherworld Mercenary Corps, nor would he have survived baptism by blood and fire. If he were an idiot, he would have died long ago at the hands of the Yang Family and the Tang Family, instead of living to this day.

”Haoyue, you don’t think Tianxing is a fool, so do you think he wouldn’t be able to see such an obvious conspiracy?”

Old Sir Lu looked at Lu Haoyue, his tone calm and even: ”Since Tianxing is aware of all this yet still has people go to Xiangjiang with such fanfare, he must have his own plan. So no matter who is trying to set him up in Xiangjiang this time, as long as someone dares to make a move, I believe the ones who end up dead will definitely be those who dare to scheme against Tianxing, not Tianxing himself.”

After hearing this, Lu Haoyue pondered for a moment, then spoke again: ”Grandpa, in that case, should we also send people to Xiangjiang to help Cousin?”

”No need.”

Old Sir Lu shook his head: ”After Tianxing encountered this matter, he didn’t call us, but chose to resolve it himself. That means he is confident enough in his ability to handle it. Since that’s the case, we don’t need to interfere. Besides, if we rashly send people to Xiangjiang, we might end up disrupting Tianxing’s arrangements and ruining his plan, which would be more harm than good.”

Hearing this, Lu Haoyue nodded lightly and said nothing more.

Old Sir Lu was right. Lu Tianxing had never fought a battle he wasn’t sure about. Since he hadn’t chosen to ask the Lu Family for help, it meant he was confident enough to handle this matter. If he rashly sent people to Xiangjiang now, he really might end up sabotaging Lu Tianxing’s plan and pushing him into danger.

...

On the other side, the Shu Tang Family.

At the very first moment that Yama Palace sent people to Jiangnan, Tang Fengxing had already received news from Beijing, and he also learned that Xue Bing had led the Yanhuang Group to appear in Xiangjiang.

After all, to deal with Yama Palace and also to deal with Lu Tianxing, they had to ensure nothing went wrong. After making a move against the Huang Family, the Tang Family had deployed a large number of hidden sentries around the Huang Family. As long as there was any movement from the Huang Family, the Tang Family would learn of it immediately. Although Xue Bing’s arrival in Xiangjiang was extremely covert, it still couldn’t escape the eyes of the Tang Family’s spies.

When Tang Fengxing learned that the Yanhuang Group had appeared in Xiangjiang, a trace of a smile finally emerged on that sinister, vicious face of his.

He seemed to have already guessed Lu Tianxing’s plan!
