Chapter 1846: Chapter 1839: I Am the Little Princess

Taking out the key to open the door and walking in, Qiu Yingrong felt as if a thousand-pound burden had been lifted from her shoulders. She let out a long breath. If she truly had nothing to do with Lu Tianxing, she might have calmly faced those knowing smiles around her, but she and Lu Tianxing had a close encounter once, and now she also harbored an indescribable feeling towards him. Being subjected to those meaningful glances made her feel nervous, as if someone had discovered the secret within a young girl’s heart.

After finally suppressing the flutter in her heart, Qiu Ying carefully raised her head to look at Lu Tianxing, just in time to catch him looking at her. Qiu Yingrong instantly looked like a startled rabbit, quickly withdrawing her gaze and fumbling to get a pair of brand-new men’s slippers from the shoe cabinet for Lu Tianxing.

Noticing Lu Tianxing’s puzzled look, Qiu Yingrong hurriedly explained, ”Mr. Lu, please don’t misunderstand. Sometimes Tian Rui comes to my house to see Lingling, so I keep a few pairs of slippers at home. This pair is brand new, Tian Rui has never worn them.”

”It’s okay, Miss Qiu, there’s no need to be so nervous.”

Once Lu Tianxing changed his shoes, Qiu Yingrong spoke again, ”Mr. Lu, please have a seat. I’ll go prepare a meal. You can stay and eat with Lingling before leaving!”

Lu Tianxing hesitated slightly upon hearing Qiu Yingrong’s words, but soon nodded. He reckoned that even if he wanted to leave now, Lingling wouldn’t let him, so he might as well stay and leave after the meal.

Seeing Lu Tianxing nod, a hint of joy flashed across Qiu Yingrong’s eyes, a joy even she herself didn’t notice, and she immediately turned and headed towards the kitchen.

Lu Tianxing carried Lingling into the room, then sat on the sofa, his gaze taking in the entire room.

The whole room was simply decorated, not overly adorned, yet it gave off a very cozy feeling. The entire place was spotlessly clean, making it evident that Qiu Yingrong was a woman who knew how to live well.

”Daddy, Daddy...”

As Lu Tianxing was looking around the room, a crisp voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

”What’s up, Lingling? Is there something you needed, calling Daddy?” Lu Tianxing came back to his senses, smiling as he spoke.

”Daddy, what’s wrong? I’ve been calling you for a while, and you didn’t respond; am I in trouble with you today for some reason?” Lingling looked worriedly at Lu Tianxing.

”No, not at all! Daddy was just thinking about what toy Lingling wants to show me.” Lu Tianxing suddenly realized, smiling as he spoke.

”Then, Daddy, put me down, and I’ll take you to see.”

Lingling’s eyes brightened, she immediately got down from Lu Tianxing and eagerly pulled him towards her small room.

”Daddy, this is my room.”

Lingling excitedly pulled Lu Tianxing into her little world.

This room wasn’t very large, but it was extremely clean and tidy. There was a small bookshelf on one side, with many children’s books on it. Various corners were occupied by some toys, all neatly arranged without any sense of disorder.

”Daddy, what do you think? Isn’t my room nice? I tell you, I cleaned all of this myself.”

Lingling proudly showed off to Lu Tianxing.

”Amazing, just amazing. I didn’t expect my daughter could take the initiative to clean her own room. That’s incredible.”

Lu Tianxing smiled and patted Lingling’s head gently as she proudly displayed her handiwork.

”Daddy, don’t touch my head, or I won’t grow tall.”

Lingling pouted, giving Lu Tianxing a cheeky grin while clutching a plush toy on her bed that was even bigger than she was. ”Daddy, look, this is the plush toy you gave me last time. I sleep with it every night, so I’m not afraid even if it’s thundering and raining because Daddy is with me.”

”Yes, Daddy will always be with you.”

Lu Tianxing nodded earnestly.

”Daddy, look, this is my painting.”

”Daddy, look, this is the little red flower the teacher gave me last time for doing well.”

Lingling’s eyes shone bright as she jumped around the room like an indefatigable little monkey, continuously showing off her belongings to Lu Tianxing.

And Lu Tianxing would timely praise Lingling, for even a small compliment could make her beam with delight.

”Daddy, do I look like a little princess wearing this?”

Lingling, from who knows where, managed to find a towel to wrap around herself, walking a runway show around Lu Tianxing.

”Nope!”

Lu Tianxing smiled at Lingling, shaking his head.

”Then what do I look like?” Lingling’s face fell, instantly feeling downcast.

”Like a little beggar, hahaha.”

Lu Tianxing burst into laughter, seeing Lingling’s disheartened expression.

”Daddy, you’re lying, you’re lying.”

Lingling immediately became unruly, diving into Lu Tianxing’s arms.

”Hahaha, Daddy’s not lying. You’re just a little beggar right now.”

Lu Tianxing embraced Lingling, gently wiping the little face she’d smudged while searching for things.

”Hmph, then Daddy’s a big beggar,” Lingling pouted.

”And what about your mommy!” Lu Tianxing asked curiously.

”Mommy’s a female beggar.”

Just as Qiu Yingrong pushed open the door and walked in, she heard Lingling calling her a female beggar and was instantly at a loss for words. ”Lingling, you’re being naughty again. Do you believe I’ll spank your bottom?”

”I’m not afraid of you!”

Lingling made a funny face at Qiu Yingrong, hiding behind Lu Tianxing. ”You wouldn’t dare spank me. If you do, I’ll ask Daddy to spank you instead. Daddy, right, won’t you?”

”No problem, if your mommy dares to spank you, Daddy will avenge you.”

Lu Tianxing looked playfully at Qiu Yingrong, sizing up her curvaceous figure as if looking for a place to start.

”What are you looking at?”

Feeling Lu Tianxing’s tangible gaze, Qiu Yingrong shivered, memories of their encounter at Jingxin Tea House floated into her mind, bringing an unusual feeling to her heart, as though she stood before Lu Tianxing with nothing on.

”Nothing much, I just thought Lingling’s words made sense, I should take revenge for her.” Lu Tianxing smiled as he spoke.

”You... wishful thinking. Lingling’s just being naughty. If you spoil her like this, she’ll be spoiled rotten sooner or later.”

Qiu Yingrong glared at Lu Tianxing, but her gentle voice carried no real anger, sounding more like playful banter between lovers.

”If she gets spoiled, then so be it. Lingling is my daughter, of course, I have to be good to her, spoil her into a little princess.” Lu Tianxing smiled and said.

”Yes, I’m a little princess. Daddy’s the Emperor, and Mommy’s the Empress.” Lingling lay on Lu Tianxing’s back, nodding earnestly.

”Empress.”

Upon hearing this, sadness flashed in Qiu Yingrong’s eyes. She was certainly not Lu Tianxing’s Empress. What was between her and Lu Tianxing, after all? Just a fleeting romance.
