Chapter 2155: Misjudgment After Misjudgment

Ouyang Biya was the one who snuck behind Ximen Qiwen. She told Tang Shaoyang that she would be ready outside, while in fact, she had been observing what happened inside the reception hall from the start.

The moment the chance arrived, she immediately took action. With her current power and the training she had gone through with Mathias, she easily killed Ximen Qiwen, one of the masterminds behind her family’s fall.

If there was something she regretted, it was because of how easily Ximen Qiwen died. She felt like a bit of torture would do the work, would give her more satisfaction, but she didn’t want to miss the chance.

She made a move without asking her Master, but the timing was perfect because her Master was fighting them. If she waited, she might miss the chance, and there was a chance her Master would stop her even though it was part of their contract. That was why she made the move.

Taking the chance that the Elders of the Ximen Family were caught off guard, she launched the second attack. A blood lotus blossomed with her as the center. Then the blood lotus burst out, the petals cut through the five people who stood around her.

Those five people who stood behind Ximen Qiwen, the Elders of the Ximen Family, were killed instantly. The blood petals cut through their bodies like paper.

Their bodies were split in half, their upper fall slowly slid down, followed by their bottom. That was a terrifying sight, and everything happened so fast that no one could react.

Zhong Tian Yun was focused on Tang Shaoyang, ready to fight this mysterious person from the Thousand Vows Pavilion. However, Tang Shaoyang didn’t attack him, and he witnessed how the Ximen Family’s Head and Elders were wiped out.

The Ximen Family lost their pillars in a matter of seconds. Losing fifteen Elders and a Family Head would ruin the Ximen Family. The problem didn’t stop there; the backlash would spread to the Murim Alliance.

It meant the Murim Alliance just lost a force to fight the Heaven Founder. The Ximen Family was more than just a first-rate faction. They were one of the major factions, a leading force to fight the Heaven Founder. It was a big loss for the Murim Alliance to lose the Ximen Family.

If the news spread that the Ximen Family lost their pillars, they would become the Heaven Founder’s target. Losing sixteen True God Realms in a single day would make them an easy target for the Heaven Founder.

Zhong Tian Yun realized that he must send his people to watch over the Ximen Family after taking care of the situation here. If he wanted to preserve the Ximen Family, then he would send his people or move them to this place.

That was more bad news for him as he had to spread his people out thinly, making the Murim Alliance even more vulnerable. The situation truly had gotten worse, and it was his misjudgment that led to this situation.

This was the moment he realized that he made a huge mistake in inviting them. He thought his status as the Alliance Leader and Sword God would be enough to control the situation. He thought no one was stupid enough to make a mess in front of the three Gods.

Zhong Tian Yun was aware that he was being complacent, even arrogant, to think that his status would help him to face an unknown group such as the Thousand Vows Pavilion. This was the result of his being the Alliance Leader for hundreds of years, expecting everyone to act the same to respect and fear him.

The Major Factions didn’t dare to take action because of his power; they feared him. The others respected him because he got to this seat without the support of the major factions. For hundreds of years, no one has been disrespecting him right before his face, let alone provoking him like this.

Today, he realized those peaceful times dulled his sense and way of thinking. He was too arrogant to think no one would dare to oppose him openly, aside from the Major Factions, which were part of the Murim Alliance.

Because of his arrogance, a group like the Heaven Founder appeared. His arrogance dulled his sense, causing him to be negligent with his duty to let a group like the Heaven Founder appear and threaten the thousand years of peace in the Sacred Realm.

He didn’t learn from his mistake, and another group, a legend, appeared before him again. The Thousand Vows Pavilion was no less dangerous than the Heaven Founder. In fact, the Thousand Vows Pavilion might have caused a bigger loss to the Murim Alliance.

The Ice Palace joined the Thousand Vows Pavilion, and now they destroyed the Ximen Family’s pillars. His arrogance truly dulled his sense to let this happen again. He should not use the Major Factions to test out this unknown group.

However, what was done was done; he could not undo the time that had happened. The thing he could do right now to minimize the damage.

There was a moment of silence after the remaining five elders from the Ximen Family were killed. He was about to say something, wanting to stop this conflict. That was when he noticed the woman who killed Ximen Qiwen made eye contact with Tang Shaoyang.

The moment Tang Shaoyang nodded, Zhong Tian Yun could tell what they wanted to do. They wanted to kill the remaining three great families here.

”Protect them!”

Zhong Tian Yun pointed toward the remaining three great families. The Warden showed up from the shadows. The Sky Hall and the Heavenly Fortress, which he recalled to be a guard last night, also barged into the reception hall.

Zhong Tian Yun’s eyes never left Tang Shaoyang. Right after making a call, he tried to get to Tang Shaoyang. He could not let his people handle the most dangerous man in this room.

The Alliance Leader positioned himself in front of Tang Shaoyang with a sword in his hand. He wished to avoid a fight with Tang Shaoyang. That was the best outcome considering how it started, but he would not shy away from a fight as well if Tang Shaoyang insisted.

However, he quickly realized that he made a huge mistake by focusing on Tang Shaoyang. While he was the most dangerous one in this hall, the others who followed Tang Shaoyang were as dangerous as well.

He focused on Tang Shaoyang and only realized a moment later that only Yan Xueyi and the Ice Palace stood behind Tang Shaoyang. The others were not in his peripheral vision.
