Chapter 2126: Ice Palace (1)

Avyn was genuinely surprised deep inside, not expecting Zara to challenge her openly like this. This put her in a situation she didn’t like.

It was best for her to decline the challenge because if they truly fought, going all out, they might destroy everything around them. Even though she believed in having an upper hand against Zara, Zara, without a doubt, would give her a tough time.

However, it would hurt her pride if she declined the challenge because it might look like she was afraid of Zara. Especially after Zara revealed her true form like this. As a prideful dragon, she was not willing to be looked down on like this. It was not in their nature to decline a challenge.

”It’s unsightly to bully your own people, and I can’t stand this. So yeah, I will fight on her behalf if you still want to continue the fight.”

Zara grinned ear to ear, but then the sky cleared out, the shadow that covered the ground dispersed, and she returned to her human form.

”I am just joking,” She winked at Avyn, ”Even if I want to try it out, I believe he will not allow us to fight all out. A spar between us is not enough to satisfy us, no?”

Zara was right that Tang Shaoyang would not allow his two strongest spirits to fight seriously. He would allow a friendly spar, but he would not allow them to go all out.

It was not just because they were his women. The same rules apply to the Vandir and Karan, who were at the pinnacle of the Archaic Spirit.

Zara squatted and patted Ouyang Biya’s head, ”You are lucky to have the kind Avyn, or you might experience a little pain that you will remember for the rest of your life.”

Then she left Ouyang Biya alone with Avyn, heading back to Tang Shaoyang’s side.

Avyn also canceled her transformation and rolled her eyes at her friend. She picked up Ouyang Biya by her clothes and placed her in front of her.

”Consider this as a warning and mind your manners, especially to Tang Shaoyang. He is your master, and he is the reason you are given a second chance to avenge your family. His goal is higher priority than your goal.”

She tapped Ouyang Biya’s shoulder twice and turned around to follow Zara.

Ouyang Biya was still in shock; she could not believe what she just experienced. She was helpless, powerless, even though she had become stronger compared to when she was alive.

Not that she was not aware that Zara might be stronger than her, but she didn’t expect her to be defeated like this. She thought she could somehow fight it out, venting out her frustration, but she was not given a chance.

This reality check hit her harder compared to when she lost to Vandir, when she died to Vandir.

”I somehow understand your situation, but you should know better not to mess with them,” Mathias came over, ”If you want to have someone to spar to vent out your frustration, you should come to us instead of provoking her.”

”You should thank her instead, Mathias. Thanks to her, we could see the real Zara and also how crazy powerful Avyn is.” Nikolas came over as well, ”My heart beat is still going crazy from that last clash.”

”I am even more convinced now that most cultivators are fools. You know it well that you haven’t fully adjusted to your newly acquired strength, and you challenged one of the strongest among us. There’s only one word to describe you, a fool.”

Gianni came over and said that to her face, adding salt to the wound. However, there was no mockery in his tone. It was more to him, stating an obvious fact about a cultivator.

”I hope Our Lord doesn’t become stupid because of his pursuit in cultivation,” He didn’t forget to add that extra concern.

The old man then looked Ouyang Biya in the eyes, ”You should train with my grand—” He was about to ask Nikolas to train Ouyang Biya, but quickly changed his mind with how mischievous his grandson was.

”You should train with my great-grandson and get used to your new power,” Gianni looked at Mathias, ”Help her. We don’t need to be a burden on our team, or else those skeletons will mock us.”

Immortal City, Murim Alliance

Zhong Tian Yun was reading the scroll behind the table, reading the report about the current status. The Murim Alliance truly suffered a big loss in this battle.

Eight medium-sized sects already fell to the Heaven Founder, and more than thirty small sects were destroyed as well. The situation became worse because the four Great Empires, the great sects and families refused to send their forces to assist those weaker than them.

The four Great Empires put their resources into looking for the mysterious group that killed their princes in the Dragon and Phoenix Tournament.

The great sects and families were wary of each other after the Dongfang Family’s betrayal. They were afraid that there were more traitor among them and afraid they would be attacked when they sent their force out.

The Heaven Founder took this chance and gradually weakened the Murim Alliance, taking over the medium-sized sect and destroying the small sects.

Zhong Tian Yun had to deploy the Murim Alliance’s main force, the Heavenly Fortress and Sky Hall, to control the situation. Thanks to that, Immortal City’s defense was considerably weakened.

He had to stay behind, reading these useless reports instead of fighting the Heaven Founder. His hands were tied in this place even though he was the strongest in the Murim Alliance.

As he read through the report, his senses picked up something, something powerful to the north of the Immortal City. He thought he might be wrong because it was just for a moment, as the strong aura disappeared after.

Zhong Tian Yun continued reading the report, but he was bothered by what he felt. He didn’t think that much at first, thinking he might be wrong.

But it kept bothering him, and with the current situation of the Sacred Realm. He was afraid that the Heaven Founder was setting up something to attack the Immortal City.

It would be stupid of them if they decided to come at him, but he could not cross out the possibility. After a while, it got worse. He put down the scroll and decided to check up on what happened in the north.

Zhong Tian Yun arrived at the area where he sensed the aura came from. He could sense the residual of internal energy as well as the aura, but there was nothing here.

There was no trace of a battle, and there was not a single living being here, not even beasts. He believed something happened here and looked through the whole mountain.

He found something, an area that was covered in ice and snow. This was the residual internal energy he detected, and he was surprised how strong the internal energy was.

The first thing that came to his mind was the Ice Palace. They were known for their ice element cultivation, which is why they chose the extreme cold area to be their sect.

”Does the Ice Palace also betray the Murim Alliance?” He muttered.

The Ice Palace was not particularly close to any big factions. They were not allied with any factions. The only connection between the Ice Palace and the other factions was the Murim Alliance.

If the Dongfang Family betrayed the Murim Alliance, he was not surprised that the Ice Palace to betray the Murim Alliance as well.

”If the Ice Palace betrayed the alliance, they should know better not to come here,” Zhong Tian Yun was not afraid if the Heaven Founder came to attack the Immortal City. In fact, he hoped for them to come to the Immortal City so he could destroy them himself.

”I still have to tighten the security. I will not let them kill anyone under my watch.”

The Murim Alliance Leader left the mountain after failing to find anything.

In a dimly lit hall, a man in a black robe sat lazily on the throne while gazing at the people that lined in front of him, exactly ten people lined up while looking down to the floor. The gripping atmosphere engulfed the hall.

”Have you found anything about the mysterious group that killed Kong Guiying?”

Supreme Guardian Duan Zhong stepped forward and answered, ”We haven’t found anything about them. There’s not a single clue about them, whether in your territory or in the Murim Alliance’s territory.”

”The four empires are still looking for this group, and they still haven’t found them as well. They also could not find a single clue about this mysterious group. It’s as if they disappeared overnight.”

Bam!

The man on the throne smashed the right side of the throne’s armrest, destroying it into pieces as he shouted, ”Useless!”

At the same time, his aura pressed the ten guardians. A Guardian could be replaced, but a Supreme Guardian was a different problem. Losing Supreme Guardian Kong Guiying was a massive loss.

The loss of the Supreme Guardian almost ruined their grand plan, a plan they prepared for a long time, years of planning, and it was almost ruined by an unknown group.

Fortunately, this unknown group was not purposely messing with them. It looked like it just happened because this mysterious group finished the job they were supposed to do, killing those young talents.

That caused chaos within the Murim Alliance, which gave them a big opening to strike. Despite losing a Supreme Guardian and a Guardian, they managed to take down two major factions.

Supreme Being calmed and asked about their next course of action.

”What about our plan for the Ice Palace?”

”We are ready to attack them any time, My Lord.” Supreme Guardian Duan Zhong replied swiftly, ”Since the mysterious group doesn’t seem to be on the Murim Alliance’s side, I don’t think they will interfere. But I will lead the attack myself just in case they interfere.”

”Good. I will create a distraction for you, and you will launch the attack on the Ice Palace in three days!”
