Apocalypse Beast Supplier: Only I Sell God-Tier Beasts

”Buddy!” Terrence called out to his Shadow Hound, which immediately trotted over to him with its tail wagging happily.

Terrence crouched down, gently caressing the back of his beast’s head as his eyes scanned its body to inspect if anything had happened to it while it was separated from him. Seeing not a single scratch, he let out a long sigh of relief.

He stood up and returned his gaze back to the quiet, lifeless village. There was clearly no intelligent life present anywhere in the area except for them.

’If there’s an entire constructed settlement here, then people must have lived here at some point,’ Terrence mused, looking closely at the structures. ’But judging by the current condition of these houses, it means they couldn’t have been gone for very long.’

The roofs and wooden walls of the houses were still in near-perfect condition. There were no overgrown weeds choked around the foundations—only tiny sprouts just beginning to poke through the soil, which clearly indicated that people had been actively taking care of this settlement not long ago.

The three of them moved forward, passing various houses constructed from thick timber with simple, blocky structural designs.

Yet, despite the sudden familiarity of their overall architecture, Terrence noticed something distinct and unique about this village.

Every single house possessed its own private fence and spacious backyard—a structural feature that was an unheard-of luxury for normal citizens living back in the crowded city sectors or outer slums. This implied that land distribution in this world was neither strictly regulated nor scarce enough to prevent ordinary people from owning property.

Terrence took note of every detail as he walked deeper into the district.

Everything had clearly been left behind in a severe rush. As he peeked through an open window frame, he saw chairs knocked over, tables shifted out of place, and various kitchenware scattered across the floor, as if the residents had fled on a moment’s notice.

He couldn’t pinpoint the exact cause just yet, but it strongly suggested that a sudden, terrifying danger had loomed over the area, leaving the villagers with no choice but to abandon their homes and run.

Glancing up at the sky, he noticed nothing out of the ordinary compared to when he first stepped into this realm.

Continuing their steady walk forward down the main dirt path, he eventually came across a large stone well—a traditional source of fresh water for a standard village.

Back in Suran City, open public wells simply didn’t exist. Most water sources were installed with heavy-duty filtration systems specifically designed to strip out mana impurities and lingering chemical toxins resulting from the catastrophic event that had poisoned the planet a thousand years ago.

’So, the people living in this place seem to have enjoyed a remarkably pure lifestyle, completely isolated from toxic particles that harm the human body,’ Terrence observed.

While modern humans on Earth possessed natural mana, directly ingesting raw, unrefined environmental mana was still highly dangerous. This was precisely why commercial elixirs existed—the mana inside them was thoroughly processed and purified through complex laboratory procedures before consumption.

”Tsk. There’s really nothing immediately useful to gather in a place like this,” Terrence muttered, looking around. ”There aren’t even any beast cores lying around.”

Suddenly, the Shadow Hound lifted its head, its ears perking up as its senses picked up on something subtle nearby. It trotted off down a side alley, leaving Terrence and Avery behind for a brief moment to retrieve whatever had caught its attention.

When the Shadow Hound trotted back out, Terrence tilted his head in sheer wonder. Held securely in his beast’s jaws was a sleek, rectangular digital tablet.

It looked almost identical to a standard electronic tablet from his home world—a device commonly utilized for storing information, entertainment, communication, and running various applications.

The Shadow Hound gently slid the device over to Terrence’s boot, prompting him to crouch down and pick it up off the dirt.

Remarkably, the black tablet still possessed a lingering electrical charge. Its small LED screen flickered erratically with a glitched, distorted interface, displaying fragmented images of unknown creatures alongside lines of corrupted text.

Terrence narrowed his eyes, patiently trying to piece together the visual data as the glowing screen flashed on and off. After a few focused attempts, he managed to mentally connect the fragmented visual pieces, allowing the full image to form clearly in his imagination.

”This... is a digitized record of beasts?!” Terrence gasped softly.

He recognized one specific beast entity as it briefly flashed across the screen, followed by another distinct species right after it. However, the accompanying textual descriptions remained impossible to read properly due to the damaged condition of the device’s display.

’If I can just get this screen fixed... maybe I can finally see what this tablet was actually used for,’ Terrence thought, his mind racing.

Realizing he could easily take the device to a skilled technician back home to have it repaired, he slid the tablet into the spacious inner pocket of his jacket. It fit surprisingly well, almost as if the pocket had been designed with the exact dimensions needed to carry such a device portably.

”So... in this world... the exact same types of beasts appear just like they do on Earth,” Terrence analyzed out loud, stepping out of the alley. ”They actually maintain an organized, centralized database. Back in my world, a public database like this doesn’t exist because monster knowledge is aggressively hoarded as a tool for political advantage. The major families keep detailed beast information secret so they can gatekeep powerful creatures for themselves.”

Terrence snapped his fingers as a brilliant idea suddenly popped into his mind.

”A public Beast Index!” he declared softly, a spark kindling in his eyes. ”Standard Inspecting Frames are only capable of gauging a beast’s basic rank and assigned name based on whatever limited database the frame’s creator programmed into it. But with a comprehensive Beast Index, I could completely shatter the informational monopoly that the rich families in Suran City hold over the public!”

Terrence let out a low chuckle at the wild, ambitious thought.

The strict monopoly on beast information was precisely what kept the wealthy families rich and powerful. But if ordinary tamers gained access to detailed knowledge regarding obscure beasts and learned where to locate stronger creatures, it would inevitably dilute the political dominance those elite families held over the region.

He quickly arrived at a decisive conclusion.

”If this tablet contains stored beast data superior to the basic scans of Inspecting Frames, then I can use it to build a massive commercial advantage for my own business. My Beast Shop could showcase this information as its very first exclusive commercial product! That is, assuming this tablet actually holds the complete data... And even if it doesn’t, nothing is stopping me from compiling and creating my own database from scratch!”

Terrence couldn’t help but chuckle even more, his excitement bubbling over in a way he usually kept hidden. The sheer breadth of future possibilities was wide open.

However, he quickly forced himself back to reality. He was still standing inside an unknown, potentially dangerous world with an active countdown ticking away.

If he spent the rest of his remaining time exploring the areas outside this abandoned settlement and gathering intel efficiently, all while staying within reasonable distance of the exit rift, he could easily walk away with information far more valuable than anything he had originally anticipated.
