Reincarnated as a Mosquito, the School Beauty I Sucked to Tears is a Reborn Empress

「Half an hour ago.」

In the Northern Domain Combat Zone, about five hundred li from the terrifying ”Demon Eye” fissure.

Here, the first heavy defensive line of the Great Xia’s Northern Domain army was stationed.

A tall, heavy wall of black metal, like a coiling dragon, stretched across the ice plains.

The wall was inscribed with dense runes of a Defense Array, which emitted a faint blue glow amidst the blizzard of the polar night.

At this moment, the atmosphere in a tactical conference room within the command center was somewhat strange.

Seated at the head of the table was a middle-aged officer with a gaunt face.

He was the man in charge of this defensive sector, Zhao Tiezhu, Commander of the 7th Regiment.

”Reporting, Commander...”

The intelligence staff officer wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. Pointing to a red-dotted area on the holographic sand table, he spoke with some hesitation:

”It’s the same as before. When we went to recover the bodies of our fallen comrades, we found that all the corpses of the Alien Race were gone!”

”Those bastards from the Alien Race are cold-blooded. They’ve never had a habit of recovering the bodies of their own. To them, the dead are just trash.”

Zhao Tiezhu tapped the table, his brow furrowed. ”Get to the point.”

”The point is...”

The staff officer took a deep breath and pulled up a set of comparison images.

”This has been happening for several days now. The Alien Race corpses on the battlefield are disappearing at an abnormally fast rate!”

”Vanished into thin air!”

”And the disappearance is extremely thorough. Not even a speck of bone is left, as if... they were erased from existence by something.”

On the screen, what was once a mountain of Alien Race corpses began to abruptly disappear, one by one, under the fast-forwarded infrared surveillance footage.

There were no signs of them being eaten, no tracks from them being moved.

”The most crucial part is—”

The staff officer’s voice dropped, tinged with confusion.

”That ’thing’ only steals the corpses of the Alien Race.”

”It doesn’t touch the remains of the Human Race’s fallen heroes mixed in among the alien corpses. In fact, it sometimes even ’cleans away’ the alien limbs pinning them down, revealing their bodies.”

A low murmur spread through the conference room.

They had been aware of the anomaly of the disappearing Alien Race corpses for a few days.

At first, they suspected a lurking Outer Realm Fierce Beast was eating the bodies.

But would an Outer Realm Fierce Beast be a picky eater? Would it even go so far as to clean up the remains of fallen soldiers?

”Have you detected any Energy fluctuations?”

Zhao Tiezhu asked in a low voice.

On a battlefield against the Alien Race, any anomaly could be fatal.

Even if this entity currently seemed to show a ”friendly” attitude towards the Human Race, who could guarantee it wasn’t some new type of High-Tier alien evolving by devouring corpses? Or perhaps brewing some greater conspiracy?

Like creating a plague, or performing some kind of evil ritual?

”Yes!”

The staff officer brought up another chart.

”The tech department conducted a full-spectrum scan and found that at the exact moment the corpses disappear, an extremely faint spatial fluctuation is left behind.”

”The frequency is very high, and its duration is incredibly short. The other party... likely possesses a High-Tier Spatial Teleportation Ability!”

Spatial Teleportation!

Hearing those two words, Zhao Tiezhu’s gaze sharpened instantly.

If it was an Outer Realm Fierce Beast that had mastered a Spatial Ability, its threat level would be King-level at minimum!

If left unchecked, and this thing went berserk and charged behind their defensive lines, it would be a catastrophe.

”I don’t care if it’s a man, a ghost, or some mutated Fierce Beast.”

Zhao Tiezhu shot to his feet, an iron-willed aura exploding from him.

”Pulling these sneaky tricks in my defensive sector... we have to drag it out!”

”Relay my orders! Activate the ’Skynet’ system, coordinate with the Space Interference Devices, and set an ambush in the priority surveillance area C3 tonight.”

He paused, his tone softening slightly.

”Since it didn’t touch the bodies of our brothers, it might indeed hold some goodwill toward humanity.”

”The primary objective of the operation is capture.”

”Be careful. The target has a Spatial Ability. Don’t let it slip away.”

”But, if it dares to resist, or shows any intent to Attack...” A murderous glint flashed in Zhao Tiezhu’s eyes.

”Then eliminate it on sight! No need to ask for permission!”

”Yes, sir!”

...

「Back to the moment Chu Sheng was surrounded.」

On the ice plains.

Chu Sheng was completely surrounded, the intense light so bright he couldn’t open his eyes.

A powerful aura fluctuation had locked onto him firmly. It was at least King Realm!

’What the?!’

’What’s going on?’

’I’ve been discovered?’

’But... swiping a few Alien Race corpses isn’t against the law, is it? Wait, how can I call it swiping!’

Chu Sheng closed his eyes and sensed his surroundings...

He was surrounded by at least a hundred fully-armed High-Tier Martial Artists, and the aura of their leader was undeniably that of a King Realm expert!

Moreover, the killing intent locked tightly onto him was no joke.

If he so much as dared to move his wings or showed any abnormal Energy reaction, he would probably be blasted by countless devastating Attacks the very next second.

’What do I do?’

’Run?’

Chu Sheng briefly assessed the situation.

To him, with his [Boundless Wings], this level of spatial lockdown was about as thick as a few layers of plastic wrap.

Breaking through by force would be no problem at all.

With his Speed, this bunch wouldn’t even be able to eat his dust.

But...

’Is it necessary?’

Chu Sheng’s thoughts turned...

’Wait a minute. There’s no need to run at all.’

’Speaking of which, I, Lord Mosquito, have military merits to my name!’

’Besides, I’m just helping the Military Department clean up the battlefield and recycling some resources on the side. This is the legendary ”win-win” situation!’

’If I just run away now, it’ll make me look guilty. How am I supposed to come back and restock in broad daylight in the future?’

Thinking this, Chu Sheng calmly folded his wings and just hovered there quietly in the air, making no unnecessary movements.

’When in Rome, do as the Romans do.’

’Since I’d already decided to come to the Northern Domain Combat Zone, making contact with the military here was only a matter of time!’

...

”Hm?”

The captain in charge of this capture operation was none other than Zhao Tiezhu’s right-hand man, the commander of the 1st Battalion, Lei Hu.

As the intense light faded, Lei Hu finally got a clear look at the true identity of the Fierce Beast they had surrounded!

He had expected to see a ferocious, terrifying, and enormous corpse-devouring behemoth.

Instead...

The little black dot locked in the spatial force field was... a mosquito?

Lei Hu rubbed his eyes, suspecting he might have been crouching in the blizzard for too long and had gone snowblind.

”What’s the situation? Where’s the Fierce Beast?”

”Captain, we’re not detecting any other life signs!”

The equally bewildered voices of his team members came through his earpiece.

”Don’t let your guard down!”

Lei Hu barked in a low voice.

”In an extremely cold place like the Northern Domain, a normal mosquito would have frozen into an ice chip long ago! The fact that this thing is alive and kicking means it’s definitely no pushover!”

”Everyone, stay sharp!”

Lei Hu took a deep breath, raised his King Realm pressure to its peak, and stepped out from behind his cover.

”You in there, this is your final warning!”

”Do not make any unusual movements, or you will be killed without mercy!”

He shouted as he slowly closed the distance.

When he was only about ten meters from Chu Sheng, he finally got a full view of this ”Fierce Beast.”

What the hell... it was just an ordinary mosquito! You couldn’t get more ordinary than this!

Suddenly!

The mosquito moved!

”Watch out!!”
