Reincarnated as a Mosquito, the School Beauty I Sucked to Tears is a Reborn Empress

The Three Kingdoms Grand Competition would begin in ten days.

Gu Yuexi had disappeared somewhere to enter seclusion. Therefore, Chu Sheng’s plan for the time being was to stay at the Beast Taming Academy, continue absorbing Qi Blood and Mental Power, and work on the specific minor evolution of his Gold Realm.

Once Gu Yuexi finished her seclusion, she would naturally come looking for him.

...

Meanwhile.

In the Mu Family’s council hall on Hong Kong Island, one of the Ten Great Clans.

Mu Xiong sat in the Patriarch’s seat, his face so dark it looked like it could drip water.

The scene from that afternoon at Hong Kong Island University played over and over in his mind:

He had been sent away!

The patriarchs of nine of Hong Kong Island’s Ten Great Clans were all in a meeting with the City Lord. Only he, Mu Xiong, had been dismissed with a simple ”go home and wait for a notice”!

Like shooing away a dog!

’A terrible disgrace... A terrible disgrace!’

Mu Xiong’s fingers dug into the armrests of the rosewood chair. When had he, the dignified Patriarch of the Mu Family, ever been so humiliated?!

But the humiliation wasn’t even the most important part!

It was the City Lord’s attitude!

His own loss of face was nothing. The City Lord’s attitude, however, was an extremely dangerous signal—the Mu Family was very likely about to be pushed out of Hong Kong Island’s innermost circle of power!

Once they lost their status as one of the Ten Great Clans, the century-old great ship that was the Mu Family would be torn apart and devoured by the nine other hungry wolves! Was their hundred-year foundation, the lifeblood of their ancestors, going to be destroyed in his, Mu Xiong’s, hands?

’No! Absolutely not!’

A nearly crazed, vicious glint flashed in Mu Xiong’s eyes.

’I, Mu Xiong, will never allow it!’

’The root of all this trouble was that Gu Yuexi, and that damned mosquito by her side!’

’Kill them. I must kill them!’

’There was no other way out. Now, the only option was to crush them completely, no matter the cost!’

Mu Xiong seemed to have finally made a decision.

”Someone!”

A black shadow appeared silently below the dais, like a phantom.

”Go, bring me that good-for-nothing Mu Linyuan!”

Mu Xiong’s tone was grim.

”Then, immediately request the Grand Elder to come out of his seclusion!”

”Yes!”

...

A moment later, a terrified and listless Mu Linyuan was dragged in.

The moment he saw his father’s ashen face, he fell to his knees with a THUD, trembling all over.

Mu Xiong walked up to him, looking down imperiously at his worthless son.

”Do you know why I summoned you?”

”Father, I...”

”Don’t call me Father. This is the council hall. Address me by my station!”

”Ah? Your... Your statue...?”

CRACK!

Mu Linyuan was sent flying, crashing through a pile of chairs.

A few minutes later.

Mu Linyuan finally understood why Mu Xiong had summoned him—to kill someone!

And the target was Gu Yuexi.

Gu Yuexi was currently under the City Lord’s protection. Not even the Mu Family’s Grand Elder—Mu Cangxuan, one of the twelve Emperors of Hong Kong Island—could touch her!

Even if they could kill her by force, it would thoroughly enrage the City Lord.

Therefore, Mu Xiong set his sights on the Three Kingdoms Grand Competition, ten days from now.

The Three Kingdoms Grand Competition would take place in the Ancient Sunken Star Secret Realm. Nothing that happened inside could be perceived or stopped from the outside. That was the best opportunity to kill Gu Yuexi.

In ten days, Mu Xiong would arrange for Mu Linyuan to also participate in the Three Kingdoms Grand Competition!

”Father... Patriarch Mu, you want me to kill Gu Yuexi? But I...”

As Mu Linyuan spoke, a flicker of fear crossed his eyes. A few months ago, if not for the family’s Protective Talisman, Gu Yuexi would have already killed him.

”Of course you can’t do it on your own!”

A hoarse, icy voice suddenly echoed from the depths of the council hall.

An old man in a gray robe with a withered face had appeared beside the Patriarch’s seat like a ghost, though no one knew when.

It was the Mu Family’s Grand Elder, Mu Cangxuan, one of the twelve Emperors of Hong Kong Island.

Mu Linyuan felt the formless pressure and lowered his head even further.

Mu Xiong gave a slight nod to the Grand Elder, then continued.

”Only those under the age of twenty-two can enter the Ancient Sunken Star Vein.”

”The Grand Elder will use our Mu Family’s secret Soul Fusion and Divine Lodging Technique to merge a sliver of his Lifebound Divine Soul into your body!”

”The Soul Fusion and Divine Lodging Technique?”

Mu Linyuan was stunned.

”That’s right.”

Grand Elder Mu Cangxuan spoke slowly.

”This method will allow you to possess, for a short time, the Spiritual Power of a High Grade Realm, approaching the Eighth or even Ninth Grade.”

As he spoke, he walked toward Mu Linyuan.

Suddenly, his withered hand shot out and grabbed Mu Linyuan by the neck, lifting him into the air.

A powerful stream of Mental Power invaded Mu Linyuan’s Sea of Consciousness.

”AHHHH!!!”

Mu Linyuan let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Once a Spiritual Cultivator reaches the King Realm, their Mental Power can be called a Divine Soul.

The Soul Fusion and Divine Lodging Technique was equivalent to forcibly merging a part of Mu Cangxuan’s Lifebound Divine Soul into Mu Linyuan’s Sea of Consciousness.

Although this Secret Technique could drastically increase Mu Linyuan’s Spiritual Cultivation for a short time, it was not without its costs.

First, Mu Linyuan’s Sea of Consciousness would suffer irreversible damage, making future advancement in his Cultivation incredibly difficult.

Second, if anything were to happen to Mu Cangxuan’s Lifebound Divine Soul, his own body would suffer a severe backlash. At best, he would fall from the Emperor Realm. At worst...

His foundation would be completely destroyed, turning him into a cripple, or even an imbecile!

The Mu Family was preparing to risk it all on one final gamble!

And Mu Linyuan was the best candidate.

No matter how useless Mu Linyuan was, once he possessed the Cultivation of a High Grade Realm, killing Gu Yuexi inside the Secret Realm would be a simple matter.

A short while later.

Mu Linyuan collapsed to the floor. Mu Cangxuan’s face looked even more withered than before.

Mu Xiong took a step forward, staring intently at Mu Linyuan.

”Enter the Secret Realm, find Gu Yuexi, and at all costs, use that power to kill her and that bug!”

”Mu Linyuan, this is your last chance, and the Mu Family’s last chance!”

On the floor, Mu Linyuan slowly pushed himself up. Feeling the immense Spiritual Power within him, a twisted excitement and madness began to well up in his heart.

”Yes! Father.”

’Gu Yuexi, didn’t you want to kill me?’

’Heh heh, come on. This time, let’s see who kills who!!!’

...

Thunder suddenly cracked across the Hong Kong Island night sky, and rain began to pour down in sheets.

Just as the Mu Family was secretly plotting how to kill Gu Yuexi, an ink-black figure arrived on the streets of Hong Kong Island.

Huge raindrops fell, but none of them managed to land on the black figure.

This person had just arrived on Hong Kong Island for a mission.

The client who issued the mission was the Chen Family from Sui Ming Province.

The Chen Family had once been a top clan in Sui Ming Province. After their decline, only a few scattered members remained, living under assumed names in Jiang City.

The Chen Family’s sole heir, Chen Ming, had once used the alias ”Liu Ming.” He was killed by Gu Yuexi during a struggle over a Spiritual Crystal.

This matter was eventually discovered by the few remaining members of the Chen Family.

With their only heir killed, the members of the Chen Family were driven into a frenzy. They immediately poured all of their remaining wealth into posting a bounty on Hell Gate for over a billion White Winning Coins.

The assassin Gu Yuexi encountered during the three-province joint exam had been sent because of this bounty.

Afterward, due to Gu Yuexi’s ”disappearance,” the mission was temporarily suspended.

However, today, with Gu Yuexi’s identity revealed, the mission was naturally reactivated.

And the one who accepted the mission this time was none other than Hell Gate’s fourth-ranked assassin—Ghost.

Ghost’s figure flickered in and out of sight on the streets of Hong Kong Island before disappearing completely.

’Assassination target: the Future Empress, is it?’

’Heh heh, a pity. She no longer has a future...’
