Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 1249: Chapter 1026: A Few Words

Demon Capital Academy, in the square.

The vast square was now filled with a crowd of more than ten thousand people.

Ahead, a multitude of teachers from Shining Star to Burning Sun, including Zheng Chusheng, He Yanan, and even Radiant Moon Level’s Geng Qiuyi, were seated on high platforms to the north on both sides.

With the passionate school anthem playing, the main teachers in charge of different modules at the academy delivered speeches one by one.

Below, aside from the few third and fourth-year students who had not returned from tasks, nearly all other students were present.

As time slowly passed, many of the old students began quietly chatting among themselves.

”This year’s new students are quite a lot, aren’t they...?”

”4,218 people, the statistics came out a while ago, your news is too outdated!”

”We just got back from a task, no time to care about new students’ matters... Didn’t expect not only to break the four thousand mark but exceed it by so much!”

”Senior Su suddenly climbed to the top of the Burning Sun List, and it just coincided with the time to fill in choices, the effect was too overwhelming...”

Numerous old students looked at the much larger, more energetic group of new students behind them, discussing fervently.

”Speaking of which, it seems all the Burning Sun teachers have shown up this year, that’s rare indeed.”

”Indeed, the Burning Sun teachers are mostly very busy, in past years hardly even half attended the ceremony, yet this time they all showed up... Moreover, I remember Teacher Yao’s array research was at a critical point, he’s been in the lab for almost half a month, yet he especially came for the opening ceremony today...”

”Now that you mention it, it’s odd too, I was in the middle of a task, then Elder Mo suddenly called me back two days ago, saying this year’s opening ceremony is very different, I’d definitely regret it if I didn’t come back... Elder Mo, honestly, what would I regret, it still seems like the same old routine~”

Many students whispered exchanges, many older students detecting that this opening ceremony seemed slightly grander...

Finally, Teacher Zhang Chengyun, who oversaw the Star Mist Hall and the array path curriculum, finished his speech.

”Finally, it’s over, each representative teacher spoke for ten to twenty minutes, two hours just flew by... then Dean Cai came up to summarize.”

As the third and fourth-year students were sighing, Cai Qinglong stepped onto the stage.

”Dear students...”

Cai Qinglong gazed at the more than ten thousand students below, smiling both delightedly and sentimentally.

”Dear students, during the hundreds of years I’ve served as the principal of Demon Capital Academy, I’ve never seen so many students as today. I’m very glad that everyone chose Demon Capital Academy.”

At this moment, Cai Qinglong was genuinely very happy.

Cai Qinglong was not just a King Level expert, but also a dean who had worked at Demon Capital Academy for centuries.

As a dean, there’s nothing more gratifying than seeing the academy under one’s administration make significant strides.

Demon Capital Academy, though on the same level as Capitol City College and Demon Academy, had always been overshadowed by the other two.

There was no choice—the gap between Demon Capital itself and the other two cities was too great!

But now, it’s different.

Regardless of the future, at least now, Demon Capital Academy has surpassed the other two!

Cai Qinglong’s emotion was indescribable: ”This year, the number of new students at our school not only surpassed Capitol City College but also reached an astonishing 4,218!

Thank you all for choosing Demon Capital Academy, and thanks to the Education Bureau for providing such support to our Demon Capital Academy, giving us the confidence to cultivate so many outstanding young people.

Aside from that, all the teachers and students should know.

Demon Capital Academy has excelled in recent years not because I, Cai Qinglong, led any reforms or achieved anything significant, but largely because of one person...”

”Senior Su Yuan!”

Without letting Cai Qinglong finish, the enormous crowd of students enthusiastically shouted out that name in unison.

It wasn’t just the excited freshmen, even the third and fourth-year students were alike!

Most students present... especially those with grades good enough for Capitol City College and Demon Academy, chose Demon Capital because of Su Yuan’s fame!

Cai Qinglong smiled: ”Yes, it’s Su Yuan... so today, let Su Yuan, who has taken some time out, say a few words to everyone.”

Say a few words?

For a moment, many students in the crowd were a bit stunned, and even most teachers and guests on both sides were the same.

Originally, it seemed like Dean Cai was just going to express admiration and gratitude once more for Su Yuan, who had brought great fame to Demon Capital Academy.

But he just said, let Su Yuan say a few words?

Right at that moment, a silver light flashed across the stage, and with black hair and silver eyes, Su Yuan appeared on stage.

”Dear juniors, good afternoon,” Su Yuan smiled, looking at the thousands below, ”I am Su Yuan.”

The crowd stared at the handsome young man on stage, a brief stillness ensued, and then the entire square erupted in excitement!

”Senior Su!!”

”It’s Senior Su Yuan!”

”Wow, it’s really him!”

”...”

Tens of thousands of students widened their eyes, exclaiming in extreme excitement!

Among the third-year students, Old Yang almost leapt up, pulling Old Xu along.

”Old Xu, earlier... earlier that really was Senior Su!”

Old Xu was parched with thirst: ”It really is! Just without his sunglasses, that’s definitely him!”

”Ah!” Old Yang slapped his thigh in anguish, ”I missed the chance, I didn’t even get to say a word to Senior Su!”

Meanwhile, the three freckled girls standing in front of Su Yuan at South Garden No. 4 also recognized Su Yuan, who wasn’t wearing sunglasses. They widened their eyes in surprise, momentarily stunned.

”That... that was actually Senior Su? We even scolded Senior Su, this, this... will he hold it against us?” The freckled girl was both excited and a bit uneasy.

”What are you thinking, Xiaoying? It’s such a small thing; Senior Su wouldn’t hold it against us!” The tall boy snapped back to his senses, his neck flushed with excitement, ”Thanks to you, we actually got to talk up close with Senior Su for that little while. This is amazing, a complete win; I’m going to brag about this until graduation!”

...

The many Demon Capital students were overjoyed, and it took quite a while before the lively atmosphere in the field slowly calmed down a bit.

Su Yuan addressed everyone: ”Thank you, Dean Cai, for the invitation. I’m very happy to be able to return to Demon Capital Academy.

More than ten years ago, I also came to Demon Capital Academy with great expectation, and the academy completely lived up to my expectations...”

Having returned to his alma mater, Su Yuan looked down and took this opportunity to reminisce about his own youth and growth during his time at the academy, using it to give some guidance and advice on academy life and finally expressing his gratitude to the academy.

While the system is undoubtedly the most important, it was also Demon Capital Academy’s great platform and the unconventional guidance and support from the dean and teachers that enabled me to grow faster.

After a full 20 to 30 minutes of speaking, Su Yuan said: ”Lastly, thank you again to the school.”

”Clap, clap, clap...!”

As soon as Su Yuan finished speaking, the students and teachers erupted into thunderous applause from all directions below.

Loving the house as one loves its crow, now whatever Su Yuan says, even if it’s plain and simple, to the students in the audience it is undoubtedly a delicacy, listened to with relish, with some even secretly taking notes.

At this point, Su Yuan’s task was considered complete, and he prepared to leave the stage.

The students below were naturally full of reluctance, watching eagerly.

Cai Qinglong saw this and asked, ”Su Yuan, if you don’t mind, do you want to see if any of these little ones have something they’d like to ask you?”

”Dean, you’re too kind.” Su Yuan smiled and, looking at the excited and admiring expressions of the students below, nodded and said, ”Of course, we can chat a little more.”

The students were overjoyed, and soon the academy selected a girl from the freshmen as the student representative.

This girl had a single ponytail, a tall figure, and a rather elegant demeanor, suggesting she came from a distinguished background.

She had just enrolled and was already at the Bronze Middle Stage, the special admittee who secured this year’s 4th room.

Living in room 4, she was a fan of Su Yuan. At this moment, facing Su Yuan’s gaze, the girl was both happy and extremely nervous.

”Su... Senior Su, I want to ask... in the future, could we possibly become excellent like you?”

This question, somewhat redundant and quite general, obviously showed that nerves prevented her from thinking it through carefully.

However, for the one answering, how to respond was flexible, making it a relatively easy question to handle.

But looking at the tens of thousands of students in the field focusing on him, Su Yuan pondered briefly before saying:

”Honestly speaking, wanting to completely replicate me is very difficult to achieve.

The reason I have reached where I am today is not only because I have gone through many life and death situations, but also due to a lot of coincidences...

So, wanting to be exactly like me... is very difficult.”

As I’ve said before, the system is extremely important to my growth.

Without the system, not even I could have reached this level, nor do I believe anyone else can. So Su Yuan didn’t want to lie to his juniors and say an untruth.

The many students below were also somewhat expecting this answer, including the questioning girl, who didn’t really believe they could reach Su Yuan’s level.

”Tha... thank you, Senior Su...” The girl’s face blushed. At this point, she felt she kind of wasted this question and was about to sit down.

But Su Yuan asked, ”This... junior, are you a special admittee?”

”Uh... yes!” The girl quickly steadied herself, only realizing then she was so nervous that she had forgotten to introduce herself, ”Senior Su, I’m Xu Xiaoman, a special admittee from Demon City!”

Seeing Xu Xiaoman, then looking at the crowd, Su Yuan said:

”But everyone shouldn’t feel disheartened; just being able to come to Demon Capital Academy means you are all already excellent.

Although you may not completely be like me, as long as you are willing to work hard and improve, you all have the opportunity to reach my realm, albeit a bit slower.

I have a classmate named Huang Xiang, whom you may not have heard of.

He wasn’t excellent before, and was even at the bottom of the class when he first enrolled.

But now, whether in cultivation realm or experience, he’s not much inferior to me.

I estimate, in a few years, he could come close to reaching my level!”

”Really?!”

”There’s actually such an amazing senior!”

”But indeed, I’ve never heard of him!”

”...”

As soon as Su Yuan finished speaking, everyone broke out in surprised discussions, not expecting there to be a senior in the same batch close to Su Yuan’s level.

This included many teachers like Zheng Chusheng and He Yanan, who were also unaware.

Su Yuan’s gaze fell back on Xu Xiaoman:

”And Xiaoman, you, as a special admittee from Demon Capital, are one of the best young people in Great Flame, so you naturally have the opportunity to catch up with my current progress faster. Do your best.”

”Yes... yes! Senior!”

Hearing Su Yuan cheering for her at the end, Xu Xiaoman was so excited she couldn’t contain herself.

And all the students around looked at Xu Xiaoman with eyes full of envy!
