Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 1082: Chapter 867: Fierce Beasts Rampant

Two days later, Su Yuan swooped down and landed in a village.

”Finally found a village, but... is there no one?”

Su Yuan walked step by step in the village, silver light floating in his eyes, looking around.

The village is not large, but it should have a population of one or two thousand, yet at the moment, there isn’t a single person.

Su Yuan opened several doors in succession, and inside they were all empty.

Su Yuan raised his eyebrows slightly, it would be fine if the village was inherently abandoned.

But from the black logs in the stove, the scattered farm tools in the fields, and the farm animals still not entirely starved such as chickens, ducks, pigs, and geese, it seems more like these people suddenly vanished.

”Is it a phenomenon disaster, or the work of an evil cultivator?”

Su Yuan pondered briefly and then continued to fly outward.

Since one village is like this, let’s see a few more places.

However, after two days, Su Yuan passed several towns and villages, and it was still as if everyone had evaporated.

Until the third day, Su Yuan finally found a fairly large city.

It looks like it could have a population of tens or twenty thousand.

In the Southern Continent, cities of this scale usually have Shining Star Level cultivators, maybe even Radiant Moon Level.

However, when Su Yuan flew over, his All-Knowing Vision scanned and it was still empty.

This is quite strange!

A village with two thousand people was understandable, but this is a city of over a hundred thousand people!

Quickly, through the information searched in the city, Su Yuan also understood where this was.

The country here is called Lie Country, this is a border city, and indeed there are three Radiant Moon Level masters in the city.

Su Yuan immediately headed to the City Lord Mansion.

”Signs of battle...” Su Yuan arrived at the City Lord Mansion, looking at the shattered ground, ”This sword mark even retains a bit of residual warmth, should be a disciple of the True Yang Sect, and not lacking in strength.”

Su Yuan had dealt a lot with the True Yang Sect before and instantly recognized that the sword mark was from the True Yang Sect’s True Yang Magic Sword, and the strength of the sword wielder definitely reached Radiant Moon Level.

”This is not simple.” Su Yuan frowned slightly.

Obviously, a disciple of the True Yang Sect came to this city and fought an enemy, but the outcome was bleak.

Although Su Yuan himself did not get along well with the True Yang Sect previously, putting aside personal grievances, major righteous sects like Taishang Sect and True Yang Sect still safeguarded the stability of the Southern Continent.

Su Yuan unleashed One Heart Dustless, and a mass of information converged, leading to a discovery quickly.

”Less than two or three days, should be able to catch up.”

Su Yuan looked up in a certain direction, his figure flickered, and he flew after it.

Only half a day later, Su Yuan arrived on a spiritual mountain several hundred miles outside the city.

This mountain, called Hidden Dragon Mountain, also has a small sect of several hundred people, with the sect master Li Fanghua being a Full Moon Level master.

But at this moment, the entire Hidden Dragon Mountain is shrouded in a cloud.

Although the entire mountain gate is still devoid of people at first glance, Su Yuan, relying on powerful perception, could vaguely feel that there seemed to be something inside.

Su Yuan entered the mountain gate, and soon heard faint cries of a baby coming from somewhere in the mountain.

Although the sound was elusive, it suddenly caused a self-dispersing impact to hit Su Yuan’s mind.

Su Yuan narrowed his eyes, easily blocking the impact, then looked up at the great hall at the top of Hidden Dragon Mountain.

”There?”

His body emitted a silver flash, and Su Yuan instantly flew to the mountain top.

The great hall was open, with a beautiful female Daoist in her thirties wearing a daoist robe sitting on the main seat directly facing him.

However, her expression was terrified, her face was deathly pale, completely motionless, and her aura was extremely weakened.

In front of her, a baby sat with its back to Su Yuan, constantly emitting cries, and seemed to be pulling something from the beautiful female Daoist bit by bit and devouring it.

It wasn’t eating flesh and blood; it looked like it was absorbing the soul!

At this moment, as the baby took another bite, the beautiful female Daoist’s eyes dulled completely, her body rapidly became illusory, and before Su Yuan she slowly disappeared...

”Even the existence of the flesh body was erased?”

Su Yuan’s eyes flashed coldly, immediately understanding that the people before him had been consumed by the infant’s soul in a similar manner.

Moreover, they might have been lured by the infant’s spiritual power, each one swallowed unknowingly.

At this time, the baby turned around, and Su Yuan saw its face clearly.

Its complexion was greenish, with large eyes almost devoid of whites.

And in its eyes, burning eerie green flames brightened due to the recent devouring of the female Daoist’s soul.

”Wuu wuu wuu...”

Clearly, its face bore a skin-deep sinister smile, yet it emitted cries like an infant.

The infant looked at Su Yuan with longing, then its steps quickened, rushing toward Su Yuan from within the hall.

Su Yuan’s expression was unchanged, raising his hand to slap its face.

The infant was instantly knocked through the wall beside it, flying out, and rolled dozens of meters on the ground.

”Wuu wuu wuu...!”

The baby’s cries grew louder, yet when it stood up again, there was no trace of grievance on its face, only a look of ferocity and anger!

Su Yuan appraised the baby in front, ”Spiritual attack, soul devouring, and it seems it can erase the bodies of those whose souls it’s swallowed. It’s truly not simple...”

The baby stabilized itself, then opened its mouth wide, the corners stretching to the ears, and a dark green flame gushed towards Su Yuan!

”However, it is only at the Chongyang Realm.”

Su Yuan’s thoughts shifted, and the Infinite Barrier instantly blocked the dark green flames in front of him.

The baby hesitated for a moment, then became even angrier, immediately leaping to switch positions and spewing out the dark green flames again.

However, as Su Yuan raised his hand, two figures dressed in black hooded robes appeared beside him.

It was the War Chariot and the Priestess.

”Go, subdue it,” instructed Su Yuan.

As soon as he finished speaking, the War Chariot stepped out, becoming a blur and swinging a fist forward.

The baby hadn’t had time to react before being hit, sent flying with a ”boom,” crashing through several temple structures!

”Waa waa waa...!”

But in just a moment, that rather sinister crying sound emerged again.

The baby stood up once more; though its skin was slightly torn, it wasn’t much harmed.

”Though not a spiritual body, under the empowerment of soul energy, it seems to have considerable resistance to physical attacks,” Su Yuan noted, eyeing the baby in the sky, contemplative.

The baby’s expression turned sinister, and as dark light flowed over it, except for the head, its entire body transmuted into a large green snake!

Then the baby opened its mouth again, spewing another mouthful of dark green flame.

”This time, the flame carries a soul attack!” Su Yuan’s eyes gleamed with silver light, promptly detecting the difference. ”However...”

The War Chariot, without dodging, charged directly, crashing through the dark green flames and reaching the baby, its fists clamping down on its head.

”Boom!”

The ground shattered layer by layer, slamming the baby back onto the ground and blasting out a large crater!

The War Chariot, originally resurrected on Su Yuan’s summons through the Sky Blue Refinement technique, controlled by the Glazed Sky Blue Sword, lacked a soul, thus unaffected by soul attacks.

”Waa waa waa...”

Yet despite such heavy blows, within moments, the baby stood again, sustaining only light injuries.

Just then, silver light flashed, and a bright silver dagger surging with curse power was embedded in the baby’s forehead, as the Priestess appeared behind it and stabbed downward!

The baby struggled, but the red Weakness Curse swiftly formed, rendering it too weak to rise.

The War Chariot descended abruptly from above, stomping down on its body, causing it to cough up blood and move no longer.

Su Yuan approached, looking at the baby, ”A truly bizarre demon beast.”

”Waa waa waa...!”

The baby’s body shimmered back into human form, looking tearfully at Su Yuan, its expression pitiful and bereft of its previous ferocity.

Simultaneously, Su Yuan felt a subtle spiritual impact attempting to sway him into sparing it...

Su Yuan sneered, lifting his hand, unveiling a swirl of black flame in his palm, ”Enjoy playing with fire, then burn within it.”

With a wave of Su Yuan’s hand, the Undead Evil Fire surged and landed on the baby’s body.

”Waa waa waa... ah!” The baby’s cries grew increasingly pitiful as it looked at Su Yuan.

But Su Yuan remained unmoved.

Soon, as its body began to be consumed by the Undead Evil Fire, the baby’s once pitiful look morphed into twisted ferocity and fury!

”Humans... damn you!” it cursed.

Su Yuan remarked, ”Oh, so it can speak after all...”

The baby raged, ”Release me! Damn you!”

Though capable of speech, it didn’t appear very intelligent.

Su Yuan didn’t wish to waste words, retracting the Evil Fire and then summoning Ruan Ruan.

”Ruan Ruan, can you devour it?”

This Star Beast looked quite peculiar; though already weakened by the Evil Fire, Su Yuan wasn’t sure if Ruan Ruan could devour it.

However, Ruan Ruan leaped forward, enlarging several times, and with its ”blood bowl mouth” opened wide, lunged towards the baby.

The baby, seeing the black light in Ruan Ruan’s maw, showed intense terror, ”No... no! I’ll kill you!”

The next moment, Ruan Ruan swallowed it whole.

Su Yuan waited in place for Ruan Ruan to consume its memories.

Quickly, Ruan Ruan opened its eyes, shrinking back to rest on Su Yuan’s shoulder.

”Master, I’ve got it!”

”Hmm, tell me then, what is its origin?”

Ruan Ruan curiously replied, ”It’s called ’Nine Infants,’ just recently revived, and only one of its nine clones.”

”Nine Infants...” Su Yuan’s eyes flickered, pondering, ”So even such ancient fierce beasts have resurrected.”

Nine Infants, according to records, in ancient times, was a legendary demon beast on par with Qiongqi.
