Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 643: Chapter 509: Movements on Multiple Fronts

Hidden Dragon Mountain, Beast Taming Heavenly Sect.

Two streaks of scarlet light swiftly shot over from the distance, landing before the mountain gate at the base of the main peak of the sect, revealing a man and a woman.

These two were clad in Red Sun Ring Robes, marking them as disciples of the True Yang Sect.

The True Yang Sect was a Northern Region sect that rarely visited the Beast Taming Heavenly Sect in ordinary times.

Among the dozen or so disciples guarding the mountain gate, one immediately stepped forward to inquire.

“I wonder why two fellows of the True Yang Sect have come to our Beast Taming Heavenly Sect?”

The speaker’s name was Wang Rui, and he was considered the highest in cultivation among the gatekeeping disciples.

The two from the True Yang Sect bowed in greeting. The young man took out an Identity Token and said, “True Yang Sect, Liu He. Greetings, fellow Daoist.”

The female beside him also produced an Identity Token. “True Yang Sect, Wang Meifei.”

Wang Rui’s gaze swept over them. The tokens they carried bore the faintly glowing Triple Sun Ring marks.

True Disciples!

Wang Rui’s heart stirred with surprise. He hadn’t expected these two to be True Disciples of the True Yang Sect.

“So, it is Fellow Daoist Liu and Fellow Daoist Wang. I am Wang Rui of the Beast Taming Heavenly Sect. May I inquire about the purpose of your visit to our sect?”

Liu He brought out an official mandate and said, “We are here by the order of our sect to inquire about the disciples your sect sent to guard the Spirit Caves when the Bloodline Spirit Cave was opened recently. Could Senior Brother Wang pass on this message for us?”

“The disciples on duty at the Bloodline Spirit Cave…” Wang Rui thought for a moment before smiling and nodding. “I happen to know. Please wait a moment while I send a message.”

Liu He’s eyes lit up, and he cupped his hands in thanks. “Thank you.”

Wang Rui immediately took out a Communication Talisman and sent a message out.

Before long, several people hurried over from within the mountain gate.

One of them was Lin Qi, the inner sect disciple who led the team at the Bloodline Spirit Cave that day.

Lin Qi glanced curiously at the two True Yang Sect disciples at the gate, then turned to Wang Rui. “Senior Brother Wang, what is it?”

The gatekeeping disciple smiled, “Junior Brother Lin, these two fellow Daoists from the True Yang Sect have something to ask.”

Liu He got straight to the point with Lin Qi and the others. “Fellow Daoists, a few days ago, a True Yang Sect disciple named Yan Zhen participated in the trials at the Bloodline Spirit Cave. Did anyone see him?”

“Yes, that person even passed the fourth level of the Spirit Cave and obtained Mid-grade True Spirit Blood,” Lin Qi immediately recalled and then coldly snorted, “However, that person didn’t have a very pleasant demeanor!”

Liu He’s expression shifted slightly, and he continued to ask, “What happened afterward?”

A female disciple beside Lin Qi impatiently replied, “Afterward? He left directly afterward.”

“Left?” Liu He’s brows furrowed. “But he did not return to the True Yang Sect. He disappeared after going to the Bloodline Spirit Cave, and we haven’t heard any news of him since then.”

“Disappeared?” Lin Qi started to understand Liu He’s meaning and realized that something might have happened. He thought for a moment and said, “Could it be that he went somewhere else?”

Liu He replied, “No, Junior Brother Yan Zhen still had tasks within the sect. He was supposed to return promptly after the Bloodline Spirit Cave. If there were other matters, he would have sent a message back first. There has been no news at all.”

Lin Qi and the others all frowned.

It had already been several days since the Bloodline Spirit Cave, and there was still no news…

Suddenly, Lin Qi remembered something and clapped his hands. “Right, after the True Yang Sect disciple left, Senior Brother Wang Hao later seemed to have gone to check. Perhaps we can ask Senior Brother Wang.”

“Oh?” Liu He’s eyes brightened. “Is your Senior Brother Wang in the sect?”

“He is. I’ll call him for you.”

Lin Qi immediately took out a Communication Talisman and contacted Wang Hao.

Before long, Wang Hao arrived and, seeing the two True Yang Sect disciples, hurried forward. “What’s going on?”

“Senior Brother Wang, these two fellow Daoists from the True Yang Sect are asking about that True Yang Sect disciple from the last Bloodline Spirit Cave.”

“Yan Zhen?”

Lin Qi nodded. “Yes, it’s him.”

“What happened to him?”

“He went missing after leaving here.”

“Went missing?” Wang Hao was taken aback and then puzzled. “But he had already obtained True Spirit Blood and left.”

Wang Meifei’s voice was icy. “We have already used a secret technique to investigate. Yan Zhen’s last traces were outside the Bloodline Spirit Cave. After that, the trail vanished as if he suddenly disappeared without a trace.”

“Suddenly disappeared outside the Bloodline Spirit Cave? How is that possible?”

Wang Hao frowned, puzzled. He had personally followed up.

Aside from Yan Zhen deliberately hiding his traces, what else could cause a distinguished True Yang Sect True Disciple to suddenly vanish without a trace?

Lin Qi said, “Senior Brother Wang, you rode the Green Sky Kite and followed up later, did you notice anything?”

“No,” Wang Hao shook his head. “It’s strange. I followed, but I did not see him. He must have been in a hurry to leave quickly… Hm?”

Suddenly, an image of a youth with silver eyes and a faint smile flashed through Wang Hao’s mind. He hesitated, feeling increasingly suspicious.

Liu He immediately noticed Wang Hao’s change in expression and stepped forward. “It seems Fellow Daoist Wang has thought of something?”

Wang Hao looked at the two, rubbed his chin thoughtfully for a while, and eventually spoke. “There was indeed another fellow Daoist present at that time.”

Liu He’s eyes lit up, “Oh?”

Lin Qi immediately recalled, “Senior Brother Wang, it was the one who obtained Top-grade True Spirit Blood, wasn’t it?”
