Supreme Star Card Master

Chapter 509: Chapter 426 Battle Merit Ranking Chapter 509: Chapter 426 Battle Merit Ranking “The Star Lord Selection is about to begin?” Su Yuan’s expression flickered slightly. This was earlier than expected.

Baili Ge nodded and said, “That’s right. Whether it’s due to the pressure from the Qiguang Holy Temple Twelve Palaces or the impending Tiger Vein struggle, this Star Lord Selection is earlier than previous ones. It won’t be more than a month. We will likely hear news in the coming days.”

“Internal information?” Su Yuan looked at Baili Ge and smiled. “It seems you are quite well-informed in the department?”

Baili Ge smiled. “I’m not that well-informed. I just happen to know an Imperial Envoy slightly well. The Sand Erosion Mysterious Soil Companion Sand I use for my Yellow Dragon Technique was obtained from him.”

Familiar with an Imperial Envoy who controls Mystic Soil?

Su Yuan clicked his tongue. That truly meant having connections at higher levels. Such a person in the Burning Sun level would certainly not be weak!

Baili Ge said, “Speaking of which, with the Heavy Sand you gave me last time, I’ve been refining my Sand Tornado these days. There are signs that my Yellow Dragon Technique is surpassing the Perfect Level, moving further beyond!”

“Oh?” Su Yuan was quite surprised. “That really is congratulations!”

Compared to skills below Blue Grade, the Transformation Realm after reaching the Epic Purple Card level was not much of a secret.

After all, once an Epic Skill was well-trained, it could be used at the Burning Sun level.

Shining Star, Radiant Moon, Burning Sun… Over this long period, it’s not difficult for talented Star Card Masters to train skills to the Transformation Realm.

Even at the Shining Star level, few could train a skill to the Transformation Realm.

But where are we? This is the Sky Patrol Department, where heroes gather!

Among the First Level Special Envoys, apart from a few individuals, over ninety percent would have at least one Epic Skill trained to the Perfect Level. The more formidable ones even had several!

As for a Star Lord… they would certainly have Epic Skills trained to the Transformation Realm!

This was also why First Level Special Envoys generally outmatched Second and Third Level Special Envoys, and Star Lords were clearly superior to First Level Special Envoys.

The enhancements from achieving Perfect and Transformation stages for skills were immense.

For instance, Baili Ge currently majored in two Epic Skills.

The Perfect Level [Yellow Dragon Technique] and the Great Success Stage [Sand Punishment] （Yellow Sand Strangulation, Sand Virgin…).

The Yellow Dragon Technique was quite formidable. Not only could it refine two powerful Sand Tornadoes, but it also came with two skills, “Double Dragon Strike Sky” and “Kanglong Youhui.” Among Epic Skills, it was quite exceptional!

Mind you, Su Yuan’s [Three-One] only had three moves, while the Yellow Dragon Technique included two Sand Tornadoes.

One unique skill could dominate the field. If Baili Ge truly took this step and trained the [Yellow Dragon Technique] to the Transformation Realm, he would undoubtedly rank in the top ten among many Special Envoys!

Baili Ge laughed. “Even if I train the Yellow Dragon Technique to the Perfect Level, I can’t compete for the Star Lord. Enough about me; let’s continue discussing the Star Lord Selection.

The latest news is that Zhou Yi, the Star Lord Tianxuan of Azure Dragon Imperial, broke through to Radiant Moon a week ago.

Including the recently fallen Star Lord Duanmu, there will be at least two Star Lord seats this time!”

“Star Lord Tianxuan broke through to Radiant Moon, two seats…” Su Yuan’s eyes revealed contemplation.

Star Lord Tianxuan Zhou Yi was the longest-serving, now in his fourth term as Star Lord.

Baili Ge said, “This increases the opportunities considerably, but many still have their eyes firmly set on these two positions.

If you want to vie for the Star Lord position, there might be many formidable opponents.”

Su Yuan smiled. “I ask Special Envoy Baili for guidance.”

Su Yuan had not been in the department long and did not know much about many First Level Special Envoys.

“There’s no need to be so formal.” Baili Ge waved his hand and then gathered his smile, becoming more serious.

“Although there’s no clear ranking of strength among us First Level Special Envoys, there is a Combat Achievement Ranking based on accumulated battle merits, reflecting each Special Envoy’s strength.

As he spoke, Baili Ge took out a list and placed it on the table.

“Firstly, there’s Yan Changming, ranked fourteenth on the Combat Achievement Rankings. He’s also vying for the position this time.”

“Yan Changming, only ranked fourteenth?” Su Yuan felt quite surprised.

Although he didn’t see much of Yan Changming’s combat skills during the New Dust World Mission due to separate actions, Su Yuan had sensed that Yan Changming’s strength was considerable, yet to be fully revealed.

First, he could serve as the team leader;

Second, with his intervention, he and Baili Ge both smoothly obtained the two Wolf Veins.

Su Yuan had thought Yan Changming would at least be in the top ten, but he was ranked only fourteenth.

“Ranked ninth on the Combat Achievement Rankings, Xun Yang, who wields a Double Blade Fierce Axe with overwhelmingly aggressive power. No one can match his strength in the department!”

“Ranked seventh, Song Xingyun, who uses a spear with skills in both water and cloud elements. He is adept at prolonged battles and has excellent control over combat!”

“Ranked fourth, Liu Hao…”

“Ranked second, Li Daoxun…”

“Ranked first, Wu Qi!”

As Baili Ge introduced, he also explained these individuals’ basic information and their areas of expertise to Su Yuan.

After speaking without pause, Baili Ge exhaled deeply and pushed the list to Su Yuan.

“These are the likely contestants for the Star Lord position and will be your tough competitors.

I know you are strong, but Wu Qi, Li Daoxun, and Liu Hao are highly formidable. No one has seen them at full strength.

Rumor has it that all three possess comparable strength to Star Lords; if not for the limited Star Lord seats, at least one would likely become a Star Lord from these three.”

“Are they really that strong?” Su Yuan noted these individuals silently.

“Besides the high-ranking experts on the Combat Achievement Rankings, there are dark horse newcomers this term.

Fu Dongliu from Azure Dragon Imperial and Xia Xuan from our Vermilion Bird Imperial likely have the strength to be in the top ten of the Combat Achievement Rankings!”

Speaking of this, Baili Ge scrutinized Su Yuan in front of him and clicked his tongue.

“One wonders if it’s fate. This term has three such extraordinary newcomers, including you.”

Su Yuan smiled and asked, “I know Xia Xuan, who wields the Red Lotus Karma Fire, one of the Divine Fires. What about the other, Fu Dongliu…?”

“A former chief disciple of the Shining Star level from Zicheng Mountain, a Water Element Star Card Master.”

Zicheng Mountain? Isn’t that Lin Chongyun’s sect?

Baili Ge rubbed his nose and whispered, “I fought him once before.”

“And the result?”

“I didn’t win.”

Didn’t win, that means he lost?

Su Yuan was quite surprised. “With your control over sand and soil, you still couldn’t defeat a Water Element user?”

In the world of Star Card Masters, it came down to Star Power competition.

But with similar levels, Earth Element Star Card Masters generally held some restraint over Water Element Star Card Masters.

Baili Ge’s expression turned serious. “Yes, and I felt he didn’t use his full strength.”

“Oh?” Su Yuan’s eyes flickered. “That really is impressive!”

“The competitors are more or less those.” Baili Ge exhaled deeply and took another sip of his already cold coffee.

Su Yuan looked at Baili Ge and smiled. “According to Tian Bulue, your nickname is ‘Yellow Sand.’ Where do you rank on the Combat Achievement Rankings?”

Baili Ge’s list only included the top twenty. Su Yuan didn’t see Baili Ge on it.

“Me… Thirty-fourth.”

Baili Ge coughed twice.

“But I joined the department just over three years ago, with limited battle merit.

Now that I’ve reforged the Sand Tornado with Heavy Sand, I estimate my strength can reach the top twenty.

Once my Yellow Dragon Technique breaks through to the Transformation Realm, I can make it to the top ten!”

Su Yuan nodded, using Baili Ge’s strength as a reference point, giving him a rough idea of the top experts’ strength.

After a moment of contemplation, Su Yuan asked, “With so many vying for the Star Lord position, what are the actual benefits of holding this position?”

“You don’t even know this?” Baili Ge looked at Su Yuan in surprise.

“I only know the authority is higher; I’m not sure about the rest.”

For Su Yuan, the Star Lord position was related to the Array Dao Secret Scroll and books needed for advanced Barrier Master.

Especially since his current knowledge in the Array Dao had reached its limit, about to reach the fifth level with no further progress possible.

So just for this reason, he had to secure this position!

As for other benefits, he hadn’t looked into them much.

Baili Ge slowly explained, “The responsibilities of a Star Lord are significant, but so are the privileges!

Authority is just the basic benefit. In the department, Star Lords enjoy higher authority in various institutions.

Take the Star Treasure Room for example, Star Lords can exchange for treasures on the third floor.

These are top-tier Fourth Level items, valued at a minimum of five thousand battle merits, many even worth over ten thousand!”

“Items worth over five thousand battle merits…”

Su Yuan’s heart stirred, thinking of the Flame Sky Fire Control Technique.

Not seen on the second floor, treasures of such caliber must be on the third floor.

“And authority is just one benefit of becoming a Star Lord.

Second, Star Lords have the power to mobilize other Star Envoys.

Third, they can choose an Epic Star Artifact or request a tailored one from the Artifice Department’s Master Smith.

Fourth and most important… Star Lords have exclusive access to a Wolf Vein for cultivation, a privilege even ordinary Radiant Moon Envoys do not have!”

“Exclusive access to a Wolf Vein?” Su Yuan clicked his tongue.

No wonder it’s the Sky Patrol Department; such benefits explain the fierce competition for the Star Lord position!

A Wolf Vein can support many Radiant Moon cultivations, let alone being entirely available to one person.

These days, although Su Yuan hadn’t had time to cultivate in the Qingming Realm, the Star Power concentration there was akin to a Pocket World.

Compared to Zhu Yuan 777 residence, it could save several times the cultivation time!

Though numerous Wolf Veins seemed plentiful recently due to the New Dust Realm,

On Blue Sea Star, a Wolf Vein could cause a Radiant Moon to fall in its struggle!

However, for Su Yuan, with Qingming Realm in hand, Wolf Veins were less crucial.

Yet an Epic Star Artifact tailored by the Master Smith from the Artifice Department did tempt him.

He didn’t even own a Blue Grade Space Star Device.

While standard elemental Star Devices were fine, Star Devices of special elements like time, space, and destiny were rare and difficult to craft.

If a Master Smith could craft an Epic Space Star Device for him…

Just the thought made Su Yuan excited!

Baili Ge added: “Additionally, there is an intangible benefit of being a Star Lord. Star Lords of past terms often continue to excel at Radiant Moon and Burning Sun.

So, once you become a Star Lord, you enter the Great Flame core with a Shining Star level and come into the view of the higher-ups.”

Su Yuan nodded, comprehending nearly all the benefits.
