Two Realms: I Will Become the Immortal Emperor

Chapter 389: Chapter 360: Entering Wangxian Ridge

”This is a war of annihilation. It won’t be easy!”

「Three days after the message was sent.」

Xiao Chan, Meng Qianxun, Meng Changtu, and Chen Xi rushed to Jinyun Valley. After learning of Chen Che’s intentions, Meng Qianxun was stunned.

The Ye Family? What kind of entity were they?

They were a major clan with a legacy stretching back nearly six hundred years. For 120 of those years, they even had a Golden Core True Master, and their influence spanned both the Yunzhou and the Cang and Liang States. Why else wouldn’t Ye Yuanji dare to attack Jinyun Valley head-on? It was precisely because he feared their deep heritage and the inevitable counterattack.

So then...

Just how ferocious would the Ye Family’s heritage and retaliation prove to be?

Just when Chen Che thought the old patriarch would do everything in his power to talk him out of it, the man’s tone suddenly shifted as he said:

”However, I’ve had the same idea.”

”?”

”...The Ye Family is coiled right beside us, eyeing us like a tiger. Their nefarious intentions haven’t died, and we can’t spend a thousand days guarding against a thief. However, we cannot act rashly. We must develop a long-term plan.”

”Either we don’t do this at all, or if we do, we ensure the Ye Clan has no chance of recovery.”

Meng Qianxun’s voice was grim. How could one tolerate another sleeping in one’s own bed? The Ye Clan’s repeated provocations made it clear they held the same ambition. This had long made him want to kill them; he just never had the opportunity.

The Ye Clan’s recent attempt on Jinyun Valley had come to nothing.

The Meng Family would likely be next.

A thought stirred in Chen Che’s mind, and he asked, ”Patriarch, could it be that you’ve had a plan all along?”

’He really didn’t have much experience when it came to wiping out a clan.’

Meng Qianxun nodded slightly.

He waved his hand, and his True Essence manifested. Amidst a great flash of Spiritual Light, a vast and primeval mountain range appeared before them all. The peaks were steep, with countless strange crags and bizarre rocks. Faintly visible, innumerable palaces stood within the mountains.

Chen Che recognized it with a single glance. This was Wangxian Ridge.

It was also the stronghold of the Ye Race.

”Wangxian Ridge, the territory occupied by the Ye Race. If we want to wipe out the Ye Family, the first obstacle before us is their Mountain Protection Array.”

With a light tap of his finger, ripples pulsed around the image of Wangxian Ridge, and a curtain of light spread out like a great inverted bowl, enveloping the entire clan’s territory.

”If we don’t break the Grand Array, we can’t enter Wangxian Ridge. Forget annihilating the clan; we won’t even have the chance to engage them. Therefore, breaking the Array is the first step. Whether we break it by force or infiltrate it silently will affect everything that follows.”

Chen Che nodded.

Back then, Ye Yuanji and his people had lingered outside Jinyun Valley precisely to find a weakness in its Grand Array.

Facing an enemy head-on and having an enemy suddenly appear at your bedside are two completely different things.

The others all understood this principle.

”But with a Golden Core Realm Cultivation, infiltrating Wangxian Ridge won’t be a problem. This means our numbers will be limited. And for the second step, we must face their core combatant: Ye Yuanji.”

At this point, Meng Qianxun glanced at Chen Che.

”But according to what Che’er said, the Ye Clan now has six more Golden Cores, making it seven in total. They were recruited by Ye Yuanji and won’t leave until we’ve been eliminated. So, next, we’ll have to face these seven.”

”Of course, the most important one is Ye Yuanji. If he escapes, this entire operation will be a failure.”

Mobilizing a large force to surround and kill a single Golden Core cultivator was impossible.

A Golden Core cultivator was like a dragon, able to come and go as they pleased. Unless you outnumbered them several times over, you simply couldn’t trap them. Once one was bent on revenge, all the industries under your control would be utterly ruined.

On top of that, they would have to constantly guard against a Golden Core’s last-ditch counterattack.

”If we can eliminate all of their Golden Core cultivators, their entire leadership structure will collapse. We will need enough manpower to prevent their clansmen from escaping, which means we need a massive force!”

At this, Meng Qianxun paused before continuing:

”If we can accomplish all of that, the final step is handling the aftermath.”

”The destruction of a Golden Core Race will definitely cause the Primordial Sect to intervene, and it might even draw the personal attention of the Sect Leader. If it’s traced back to us... the consequences will be more than any of us can bear.”

As forces under the jurisdiction of the Primordial Sect, attacking and killing another Tributor within the sect without reason would definitely result in severe punishment. And most importantly, True Master Duobao was currently the one with the most influence in the Primordial Sect. No one dared to bet on what he would do after learning of this matter.

Would he kill them?

Or cripple their Cultivation?

Or imprison them?

”If we can overcome these difficulties, we can strike immediately.”

”Can we?”

Meng Qianxun raised his head, looked at Chen Che, and then glanced at the others.

Xiao Chan tapped his fingers for a moment, then grinned and said:

”I’ve always wanted to strike at the Primordial Sect, but it’s too vast and powerful to be taken on directly. I’ve long thought about cutting down the Golden Cores under its jurisdiction, and now is a perfect opportunity. I will bear the consequences of this matter. The Ye Race will be annihilated by the hand of the Evil Cultivator Xiao Chan, and the Primordial Sect won’t be able to trace it back to any of you.”

Hearing this, both Meng Qianxun and Chen Xi nodded slightly.

Chen Che pondered for a moment before speaking, ”The Ye Race’s Mountain Protection Array won’t be too difficult. All Arrays have a core. It will just take some time to find its weakness.”

”That’s right.”

Meng Changtu nodded slightly, picking up the thread of the conversation:

”The remaining part, and the most crucial one, is their seven Golden Core True Masters and the many Foundation Establishment Cultivators within their clan. There are no shortcuts for this, and it is also the most difficult step!”

”The Meng Family can mobilize many of our own Foundation Establishment cultivators to participate in the assault.”

”Jinyun Valley can as well.”

Chen Che nodded.

Lu Qinglian pondered for a moment. ”I can make a trip back to Xuzhou.”

...

Chen Che took a month’s leave.

During this time, he didn’t go to teach his class on the Earth Element Star. Instead, he sealed off the back mountain and began secluded Cultivation. He planned to break through to the Third Layer of the Golden Core Realm within this period.

Under the Willow Tree Demon.

Chen Che sat cross-legged in his spot. At his Realm, he had long been able to perform Fasting. He could go for years without eating or drinking with no ill effects.

Meanwhile, the Pill Liquid in the Jade Bottle was also slowly decreasing. Relying on the Spiritual Qi from the Earth Store Profound Tree, with this boost from both inside and out, Chen Che greedily absorbed the pure and surging Spiritual Qi. His True Essence increased strand by strand, pushing him toward the next Realm.

Apart from that, he also familiarized himself with controlling the Sword Pill, as well as the Ruyi Wind Thunder Step and the Taichu Haoyue Sword techniques.

Of course, he didn’t forget to keep an eye on the Ye Clan’s movements.

Ever since the clash of Divine Sense and Ye Yuanji’s departure from Jinyun Valley, the man had not shown himself, and things had been quiet.

However, the Ye Family, which had originally announced it would seal its mountain for thirty years, had recently shown faint signs of lifting the seal.

This action clearly stemmed from a loosening of policy from the higher-ups.

Evidently, in Ye Yuanji’s eyes, the Meng Family and Jinyun Valley were already his for the taking. Six or seven Golden Core cultivators alone would not have given him such confidence. The only possibility was that it came from True Master Duobao.

The evidence for this was, of course, the several decrees issued from the Primordial Sect during this period, forcefully ordering him to go investigate the matter in Chu State.

After receiving the decrees, Chen Che simply used the excuse that he was in the middle of Alchemy.

In Cultivation, there is no sense of time. A month passed in a flash.

A cultivator in simple green robes sat under the tree, motionless as a statue. The bottle of Pill Liquid in his hand, once full, was now forty percent empty. This was clearly the result of his frenzied Cultivation during this period of seclusion.

”I’ve finally reached the Third Layer of the Golden Core Realm...”

Chen Che slowly rose to his feet, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. The vast and unparalleled True Essence within him surged, sweeping out in all directions like a tidal wave.

BUZZ~

As the immense True Essence swept out, the disciples In the Valley clearly felt the weapons in their hands and sheaths tremble, as if they were about to fly out of their grasp at any moment.

Lu Qinglian, Rong Zhongxuan, Hu Yao... They all felt this True Essence and simultaneously looked toward the back mountain.

Then, they all turned and began walking toward the valley exit.

Many disciples, clutching their weapons, looked at Rong Shisan in the Martial Arts Arena and cried out in astonishment:

”Tutor!”

”Focus on your training!”

Rong Shisan withdrew his gaze.

”Chief!?”

In the Talisman Hall, Li Changqing was explaining how to draw Talismans to his disciples when they all noticed he had suddenly paused.

”It’s nothing. Let’s continue our explanation of this Talisman...”

Li Changqing slowly shook his head, but his peripheral vision glanced at the sky outside as he said slowly:

”It’s going to rain.”

”Oh, you’re right!”

”And once this rain starts, it looks like it’s going to be a heavy one...”

The disciples looked up and saw a thick layer of clouds that had, at some unknown time, slowly spread out. As they gazed up, it seemed to have no borders, looking as if it was about to cover the entirety of Yunzhou.

”Time to go!”

Retracting his True Essence, Chen Che rose to his full height. With a flip of his hand, the half-shattered Thousand Eyes mask was already on his face. He put on his bamboo hat, changed into a black Cloak, slung the Sword Box onto his back, and silently left the valley.

”Che’er, over here!”

「Three days later.」

Outside Wangxian Ridge, Meng Qianxun was already waiting. The people from the last gathering were all here, and they had all disguised themselves—all except for Xiao Chan. The Soul-Calling Banner on his back whipped and snapped in the fierce wind.

In addition, there was one more person: Lu Yuntian.

Clearly, the couple seemed to have reconciled, and Lu Qinglian had persuaded him to join.

After all, against the Ye Family’s deep heritage, relying solely on Jinyun Valley, the Meng Family, and the Chen Clan was not enough to contend with them.

Upon seeing Chen Che, Lu Yuntian cupped his hands in greeting but did not speak. His expression was just extremely solemn.

Once the bow is drawn, the arrow cannot be recalled. Once they struck, it would be a fight to the death. If they held back, they might be able to maintain a superficial peace. ’But no one wants to be pushed to the absolute limit before fighting back...’

But if they failed, the consequences would be extremely severe.

”Let’s proceed as planned!”

Without further words, Meng Qianxun formed a Seal Technique.

Instantly, the invisible air before them trembled and seemed to be torn open by a pair of invisible hands, revealing an almond-shaped slit. This was clearly the Ye Clan’s Guard Array. The moment an outsider or a Cultivator without a pass Token touched it, it would raise the alarm.

Of course, the Array also included illusory, killing, and isolating effects.

But within the last month, Meng Qianxun, with the persistence of water dripping through stone, had managed to find the Array’s core.

Next, his figure blurred, and he shot inside as a black shadow.

”Everyone, be careful!”

Chen Che cupped his hands, then also transformed into a black shadow and swiftly slipped into Wangxian Ridge.
