Two Realms: I Will Become the Immortal Emperor

Chapter 313: Chapter 285: An Extortion and Another Kill

The Ye Family was located on Wangxian Ridge.

The ridge was massive, straddling the states of Yun and Cang. Spiritual Qi was abundant in the mountains, vegetation was dense, and rare treasures and exotic beasts were too numerous to count.

Looking out, one could see a continuous string of palaces built around the mountain. A seven-angled pavilion rose from the mountain into the clouds—a truly celestial vista.

As the shout rang out, the once-peaceful Wangxian Ridge erupted as if a pot had exploded. From one mountain peak after another, from inconspicuous canyons and lush forests, strange movements occurred in unison. The whoosh of countless figures breaking through the air was like a plague of locusts passing through.

Figure after figure shot into the sky. In but a moment, all the figures in sight had flown into the air in unison.

Many Qi Refining Cultivators also rushed over.

A glance upward revealed that even those at the Qi Refining Ninth Layer were not few in number.

At the same time, all around Wangxian Ridge, countless strange runes rose from the forest. As they faintly converged, they seemed to form chains. Even within the sprawling mountain range, numerous powerful auras began to awaken quietly.

The sight was truly magnificent.

’As expected of a Golden Core Race... When one person rises, their entire clan rises with them. Based on this display alone, they’re already comparable to the Huzhou Five Races.’

Chen Che stood on the Little Chick’s back, brazenly taking in the scene.

The Ye Family and the Jin Family were founded around the same time.

The difference between having a Golden Core Cultivator and not was like the difference between heaven and earth.

”Chen Che, why have you come to my Ye Family to act so presumptuously instead of staying put in your Jinyun Valley?”

A Major Cultivator flew into the air and demanded without any courtesy.

”Is that Chen Che of Jinyun Valley?”

”So you know him. He looks rather unremarkable.”

”Heh, when the cat’s away...”

The many Major Cultivators stared at him unscrupulously.

The disciples of a major clan had an extreme sense of superiority. In the eyes of outsiders, Chen Che was a local tyrant, a Sitting Tiger who dominated a region. But within their clan, there were at least seven or eight cultivators at Chen Che’s Cultivation Realm.

”Yu An, do not be insolent in Valley Master Chen’s presence.”

Just then, a reprimand came from the Seven-Angled Jade Pavilion. A one-eyed elder stepped out from the clouds. His right eye was grayish-white, veiled by a layer of white mist, giving him a somewhat sinister air. Behind him followed four Foundation Establishment Perfection Cultivators with powerful auras.

When the members of the Ye Family saw him, they all called out ”Elder” and fell into line.

The one-eyed elder rode the clouds to the front of the ridge, cupped his hands, and said, ”Valley Master Chen, what an honor to have you grace us with your presence. Please forgive us for not coming out to greet you. Why didn’t you have a subordinate announce your arrival? If word of this got out, wouldn’t it seem as though my Ye Family has no sense of hospitality?”

”No need to bother with the formalities of the Mortal World.”

Chen Che waved his hand and said casually, ”Something came up, which is why I arrived so suddenly. I hope the Grand Elder won’t take offense.”

Although this was their first meeting, the two acted like old friends who had known each other for years, appearing completely amicable.

Ye Juming’s single eye flashed. He had originally thought Chen Che was here to pick a fight, but the other man’s attitude made it difficult for him to gauge the situation. As his thoughts turned, he suddenly smiled, took a step back, and gestured toward the clan behind him.

”Valley Master Chen, please come into the clan grounds for a discussion.”

”I’ll pass on going inside.”

’It’s easy to go in but hard to get out.’ Chen Che wasn’t stupid enough to walk into a trap. ”I have come today to deliver a piece of news to the Ye Family. Not long ago in Ze State, I happened upon a heavily injured villain. That man was none other than your clan’s Ye Jiuming!”

”What?”

Everyone was shocked.

Many looked at Chen Che in surprise. ’Did this Valley Master Chen come all this way just to deliver a message?’

Many Ye Clan members who didn’t know the truth clenched their fists and said excitedly, ”That villain betrayed the family for nearly a hundred years, and many of the clan’s elites died at his hands. Is he finally going to be brought to justice?”

’Is that so?’

Ye Juming’s eyelid twitched slightly.

The clan’s ”elites” who had ”died” at Ye Jiuming’s hands had actually faked their deaths to escape and follow him in secret. Of course, the lower-level clan members knew nothing of this.

”I originally intended to capture him alive.”

A trace of regret appeared in Chen Che’s eyes as he said with sincerity:

”Unfortunately, he resisted to the death. Furthermore, his Cultivation Realm was far higher than mine. Left with no other choice, I had to kill him. I heard the Ye Family once offered a reward of two hundred thousand Spirit Stones for Ye Jiuming’s head?”

”...”

Ye Juming’s eyelid twitched, and a nameless fury churned in his heart.

’The man is here to collect the bounty!’

The reward was extremely high, but it was just for show. Who other than a Golden Core Cultivator could kill him? And Ye Jiuming never showed his face before Golden Core Cultivators.

”What, you’ve come to claim the reward?”

”You...”

As his words fell, the two Elders behind Ye Juming could barely contain their rage.

”I killed a traitor for the Ye Family. Why do the two of you seem a little unhappy?”

Chen Che glanced at them with a half-smile.

These two elders were named Ye Xingwang and Ye Leyou, both figures of real power within the clan. In the Jin Clan or the Gu Clan, they would be considered ancestors whose words were final.

The corners of the other Elders’ eyes also twitched wildly, unable to suppress their anger.

’Not only did he kill our man, but he’s actually here to claim the reward with his head?’ Two hundred thousand Spirit Stones, even for the Ye Clan, wouldn’t break them, but it would be like cutting off a piece of their own flesh.

”Happy.”

Ye Juming suppressed his fury and forced a smile. ”This matter is complicated. Why don’t we go inside to discuss the details?”

”I’m not going.”

He refused without hesitation and waved his hand, revealing Ye Jiuming’s corpse. ”The body is right here. You can all inspect it. After that, give me the reward...”

Seeing the looks on their faces, Chen Che felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

’I’m taking advantage of the fact that the Ye Family has publicly disowned Ye Jiuming and can’t openly retaliate. The Ye Family will sooner or later find out about Ye Jiuming’s death and target Jinyun Valley again. Is hiding the answer? Will they just let me go?’

’No, they’ll only think I’m even weaker and easier to bully.’

His reason for coming to the Ye Family to claim the bounty was simple.

It was to let them know that if they wanted to make a move on him, they would have to pay a sufficient price!

Ye Juming had the steadiest temperament. He was the first to recover, hastily examining Ye Jiuming’s body. After confirming its identity, a trace of pain couldn’t help but show in his eyes. A moment later, several of them exchanged glances and nodded, having clearly confirmed it was him.

”Valley Master Chen.”

Since things had come to this, Ye Juming could only let out a long sigh and ask, ”May I ask about the items on his person...?”

”When it comes to the possessions of an Evil Cultivator, don’t they all belong to the one who killed them?”

Chen Che spoke casually, his tone implying this was only natural.

Although it wasn’t written down in black and white, it was an unwritten rule.

”Forget it.”

Ye Juming suppressed his anger, took out a Storage Ring, and said, ”There are only one hundred thirty thousand Spirit Stones here. You will have to wait a moment for the remaining seventy thousand. Please, Valley Master Chen, come inside for a cup of tea, and I will have my clansmen gather the rest for you.”

”One hundred thirty thousand?”

Taking the ring, he raised an eyebrow slightly. However, Chen Che never expected them to hand over all the Spirit Stones obediently from the start. But extorting a sum was still a sum. He took the ring and Ye Jiuming’s body.

”As for the remaining seventy thousand Spirit Stones, please have them sent to Jinyun Valley when the Grand Elder has a moment.”

”You’re taking the body?”

Ye Juming’s eyelid twitched.

Ye Jiuming was, after all, a Ye Clan ancestor. After death, he should not only be buried within the clan but also have an Eternal Life Stele erected for him.

”That’s right. The Primordial Sect also has a bounty on him. I plan to pay them a visit as well. Thank you, Grand Elder, for your generosity.”

With that, Chen Che cupped his hands, and the Little Chick beneath him began to flap its wings.

”Farewell!”

...

Watching Chen Che leisurely depart, veins bulged on Ye Juming’s forehead. He wished he could stop him right then and there.

Chen Che came and went as he pleased, treating them as if they were nothing.

Not only did he bring Ye Jiuming’s body to claim a reward, but he was even going to pay a visit to the Primordial Sect.

At this moment, within the clan, the disciples who didn’t know the truth had also heard the conversation. They excitedly ran around spreading the news, and some even shouted in exhilaration.

”Ye Jiuming is finally dead...”

”Yeah! If I got my hands on his body, I’d want to grind his bones to dust!”

”This is a great service to our clan, ridding us of a menace!”

Even Ye Yu’an, who had berated Chen Che earlier, was ecstatic.

”Shut up and get back!”

Ye Juming barked coldly, and all the clan members scattered. ”We absolutely cannot let that brat leave! We must take back the materials and the body!”

The body was a matter of pride.

The materials were a matter of Core Formation.

For the sake of both reason and sentiment, they could not let him leave.

...

「Half an incense stick later.」

Chen Che hid within a sprawling mountain range.

’Where’s the one hundred thirty thousand? There are only one hundred ten thousand Spirit Stones. That Ye Juming is a real bald-faced liar.’

He swept his Divine Sense across the Storage Ring and shook his head secretly.

Still, it was all a freebie.

’I wonder if they’ll come after me.’

Chen Che narrowed his eyes and waited quietly.

Ye Juming’s repeated invitations to enter the clan had laid his murderous intent bare for all to see.

At the same time, the Ye Family’s actions made him realize something.

They could hinder his Core Formation, and he could give them a taste of their own medicine.

’Since we’ve already torn all face, might as well go all the way. If I kill a few at Great Perfection, I’ll have fewer threats in the future.’

Therefore, he hadn’t left immediately but had instead positioned himself on the required path from the Ye Family to the Primordial Sect.

This mountain was full of overlapping layers of black rock, piled one on top of the other, making it an excellent hiding place.

Chen Che hid calmly within, waiting quietly.

As expected, in less than a moment, an Escape Light shot across the sky. It was extremely fast; one moment it was on the horizon, and in the blink of an eye, it was directly overhead.

’It’s Ye Leyou!’

Chen Che recognized him.

This person was the Ye Family’s Third Elder. He immediately moved his Divine Sense, launching a merciless assault.

’Such audacity! How dare you ambush me?’

Ye Leyou had been in hot pursuit, trying to intercept Chen Che. How could he have expected to be suddenly ambushed?

Slightly startled, Ye Leyou sneered inwardly.

’The man could kill the ancestors of several clans in Shuzhou, so his strength must be considerable.’

’If he attacked me directly, I might be wary. But a Divine Sense attack? I have nothing to fear. After all, my Divine Sense has been tempered for over two hundred years, and I’ve consumed many Celestial and Earthly Treasures. I consider it no weaker than that of a Golden Core Cultivator.’

Ye Leyou’s Divine Thought stirred, and he was just about to teach his ambusher a lesson. But in the next instant, his eyes widened as he realized something was terribly wrong.

A sound like a clap of thunder boomed in his mind.

”This Divine Sense!?”

Ye Leyou felt a terrifying tidal wave pour directly into his mind. By the time he thought to activate his Magical Artifact to block the Divine Sense, it was already too late. He lost all five of his senses on the spot.

”Get down here!”

Chen Che made a grabbing motion with his hand, pulling him directly from mid-air.

At the same time, Chen Che attacked. A point of Starlight Sword Qi, moving at a speed invisible to the naked eye, pierced directly through the other man’s brow!

「A few moments later.」

Over a dozen figures flew across the sky, completely unaware.
